Story
Meet Charlie – A Gentle Soul Seeking Safety & Serenity Charlie is a soft-eyed, sensitive pup who’s looking for something rare and special – a quiet, laid-back home where he can simply be. At his core, Charlie is a dog who finds peace in the presence of other dogs, not people. He doesn’t crave snuggles or attention. In fact, humans make him very nervous. What he does need is patience, understanding, and the freedom to come around on his own terms. Charlie’s ideal home includes: Another calm, confident dog to show him the ropes No children – he needs a kid-free space A fully fenced yard with a doggy door, so he can come and go without pressure Outdoor and indoor shelter options – think cozy doghouses or crates where he can retreat and feel safe He’s not going to be your couch cuddle buddy or your shadow around the house. But if you’re the kind of person who respects space, moves slowly, and believes that trust is earned – Charlie might just be your heart dog. He may never be the life of the party, but he deserves a home that honors who he is – not who he’s expected to be. Could you be the calm in Charlie’s world? #AdoptCharlie #SafeSpaceNeeded #NotEveryDogWantsToSnuggle #RespectAndPatience   —————————————————————————————————————- A Note from Charlie Hi there. I’m Charlie. I’m not like most dogs you’ll read about. I’m not going to greet you at the door with tail wags or crawl into your lap for snuggles. Honestly? People make me really nervous. I’ve learned to keep my distance because it’s the only way I know how to feel safe. But I do like other dogs. They help me feel a little braver, a little more at ease. So if you’ve got a calm, confident pup already, that would really help me settle in. I’m looking for a very quiet, laid-back home with no kids and no chaos. I need someone patient—someone who will let me do my thing and not expect too much. I probably won’t come running when you call, and I might not even want to be touched for a while… or ever. I just need the space to exist without pressure. A fenced yard with a doggy door would be perfect. That way I can come and go as I please. If you could set up a comfy little shelter inside and maybe another outside, that would make me feel even safer. I like to have options. I know I’m not what most people are looking for. I’m not a cuddler or a best friend—at least not yet. But if you’re the kind of person who understands that dogs like me exist… who doesn’t need constant affection… and who believes that trust should never be rushed—then maybe you’re my kind of human. And maybe, just maybe, I could learn to trust you in time. —Charlie #AdoptCharlie #SafeSpacesOnly #TrustTakesTime #LoveMeAsIAm If you are interested in Charlie, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comJune 16, 2025, 8:54 am

Story
Spenser is currently in boarding and needs a foster or adopter so that we can learn more about him.  He would do best in a home with no other animals and a large fenced yard to “zoom” around.  He is approximately 49 lbs.   At 1 year old, he has a lot of energy but we have training lined up for him if we can find someone to commit to fostering him and working on new skills with him and his trainer while he's in foster care.    We don’t want Spencer to fall by the wayside! We know he’s a good boy. If you have time to learn about and love on Spencer, please complete an application at lastdaydogs.comOctober 8, 2025, 11:11 am
