Story
I am so sad to be rehoming our sweet Leia, but she needs a calmer house than we can provide. We adopted her when she was 4 (she’s 7.5 now) and unfortunately wasn't super well socialized with other dogs. However, she is a wonderful, cuddly, affectionate dog, but she does have some anxiety and reactivity. She would do best in a home without other pets, especially dogs or cats. She has been great with our kids, but I think the chaos of our four young kids makes her more anxious. I think she'd be fine in a home with kids ages 9+. She does fine with short walks or running around a fenced yard. Fully potty trained and easy to care for in general. Her behavior is fine 95% of the time, but it's really just with other dogs she has issues or just with too much chaos she gets worked up. She needs a calmer home & family who can handle her dog reactivity (or has a private environment where she's not around other animals). I love her dearly and want her to find a good home. Unsure of exact breed.

Story
This is a courtesy listing for a sweet dog named Teddy. His sad story began when a kind lady named Autumn found him on the side of the road after neighbors in the area saw him get dumped out of a vehicle. She has had him since November 2023, but unfortunately, cannot keep him because she has a small home and already owns three other smaller dogs. Teddy is a larger breed, of course, and her pets do not get along with other dogs. She has had to keep him completely separated from them. Teddy has been staying on her back porch, or when the weather is bad, he is inside in a kennel. Teddy is a Lab/Husky/Pit mix. He is about one year+, male, and about 64 lbs. Autumn has gotten him neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated and is doing her best to try to find him a good home. Teddy loves to go walking, play with his toys, and go on hikes. His favorite treats are jerky sticks and peanut butter. Teddy also loves rolling around in the leaves and playing fetch with his ball! He is initially fearful of other dogs but has improved and seems to have done very well with recent interactions. He may be timid/shy or show some anxiety at first but has improved his behavior after some recent socialization. He had some puppy behavioral issues that needed some work (like jumping and pulling) but has also improved in the time that Autumn has been working with him. He is a smart dog and knows commands like “sit”, “stay”, “place”, “down” and “leave it”. Teddy is kennel/crate trained and house trained. He gets along well with most larger dogs. All of his vet documentation will be provided to a loving adopter, as well as toys, some food and supplies. There is no adoption fee, but a small donation would be appreciated. If interested in giving this sweet boy a forever home, please call Autumn at: 828-270-6201 or email: aautumndenisee@yahoo.com

Story
Sadie is a beautiful lab/boxer mix who found herself at a shelter when she was a few months old. She was very shy and quiet….fast forward to now since being in a foster home, this sweet girl has gained confidence and her personality shines through. She flies through the air like a ballerina and just loves to do zoomies outside. Due to this, Sadie would need a fenced in yard. She rides well in a car and prefers playing in the yard to walking in the neighborhood.

Story
Hey there, future family! My name is Whiskey, and I'm the fun-loving, tail-wagging, sunshine-chasing pup you've been dreaming about! Picture this: a summer day filled with belly flops into kiddie pools, endless rounds of fetch, and sunbathing on the grass. That's me in a nutshell! I'm a silly, sweet boy who's bursting with energy and ready to make every day feel like a summer vacation. Do you like beach balls, frisbees, and ice cream? Well, I can't promise you ice cream, but I can guarantee lots of laughs and an endless supply of puppy kisses. I'm the kind of dog who thinks every day is a reason to celebrate, and I'm just looking for a family who's ready to join the party. I adore playing with other dogs, but I've got a lot of energy, so we'll need a meet-and-greet to make sure your current fur buddy can keep up with my playful antics. Think of it as a doggy playdate - how fun is that? So, if you're on the hunt for a furry friend who's got the zest of a summer barbecue and the heart of a loyal companion, look no further. Adopt me, Whiskey, and let's turn every day into a sunny adventure filled with giggles and wagging tails. Can't wait to meet you and start our forever summer together!
