You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Mickey I came from the shelter they were going to euthanize me because they were overcrowded. I am approx five years old up to date on vaccines and microchipped. I have made a couple of friends at the rescue but I am not ok with small little dogs or cats, my foster mommy says if you apply for me and have a doggie we will have to do a meet and greet to make sure we both get along.  I am a snuggler, I will come sit in your lap. I love to play in the yard and search for treats as you toss them in the grass, I I will find everyone of them because I have a great nose. I love my toys but they have to be tough toys because I don't know what's wrong with some of mommy's toys, some of them just blow up and go poof and stuffing goes everywhere. I am totally housebroken and crate trained, I would love a new home and family to call my ownDo you have room on your couch for me? Or your lap? If interested please fill out an application My adoption fee is $250.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. Story
Meet Otis! Otis is a charming little explorer with floppy ears, a curious nose, and a heart far bigger than his tiny paws. At three months old, he’s busy figuring out how the world works—usually by sniffing it, pawing at it, or giving it a tentative puppy nibble. With a playful spirit and a goofy streak, Otis is the kind of pup who turns everyday moments into mini adventures. He loves meeting new friends, learning new games, and curling up for well-earned snoozes right after. Sweet-natured and full of promise, Otis is growing into a confident, loving companion who’s ready to share his joy—and probably a few stolen socks—with everyone he meets. ##2580624##

Story
Don’t let the "tripod" status fool you, Betty is all gas and no breaks! She is a masterclass in resilience and pure puppy joy. The "Special" Part of Special NeedsBetty was born with an underdeveloped front left leg. We’ve had the x-rays done, and while her scapula and bones are a bit different, here is the most important part: it doesn't hurt her one bit. She doesn’t know she’s "different"; she just knows she has places to go and dirt to dig! Personality & AdventuresBetty is a professional explorer. Whether she’s zooming through the yard or digging holes in the snow (or dirt, she’s not picky!), she is perpetually happy. In true Lab fashion, she is a "mouth-led" adventurer. If you go for a walk, don't be surprised if she suddenly has a stick, rock, leaf, etc. She has a talent for finding anything and carrying it with immense pride. House Manners & TrainingSince she’s still a young pup, Betty is looking for a family ready to commit to "Puppy 101."Crate Training: She’s a rockstar! She sleeps through the night in her crate with no accidents.Potty Training: She’s learning! She’ll need a consistent routine and a watchful eye to help her finish her training. The "Lab" Factor: She loves to chew! To keep your shoes safe, she’ll need plenty of appropriate outlets. Her current favorites are water buffalo horns and deer antlers, perfect for the teething phase she's about to enter.Social Life Betty is a social butterfly. She gets along famously with other dogs and loves her toys. She would thrive in a home that embraces her active nature and provides the structure a smart Lab needs. Fast facts about Betty:Breed: English Labrador RetrieverAge: ~3.5 MonthsVibe: High energy, resilient, and incredibly proud of her stick collection.Compatibility: Great with people and other dogs; ready for a family with a routine.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
Hiro is a senior gentlemen at 10-11 years old, who is looking for a new soft spot to land after his former family had children and he was not getting the attention he deserves. His former owner is experiencing complications and cannot care for the young children in the home and Hiro. They feel he is not safe around small children, and want to ensure Hiro is removed from an uncomfortable situation before anything happens to anyone. He loves other dogs of all sizes, and would love a buddy or maybe two, but could definitely be happy to the the king of his castle. Hiro is crate trained, house broken, has some off leash training, does not require a yard, is very gentle taking treats, and loves people. He has a short, but thick double coat, that should be easy to maintain with regular brushing. He last saw the vet in April, and is UTD on his core vaccines. He is a really chill dude just looking for a cozy, quiet(ish) house to call his own. Feel free to contact for further information.

Story
Ryder is the sweetest dog who loves every person and dogs of all ages. She will be two on March 27th and needs a family that has time to spend with her and time to take her on walks, play fetch, and time to just love on. We got Ryder from a breeder one week before I found out I was pregnant and at the time we thought we could manage a young dog and a baby, but unfortunately we cannot find the time for her that she deserves. She is so good with our baby and she is so sweet to us so this has been the toughest decision we have made as a family but she deserves so much more than we are able to give her right now. She is house and leash trained and she knows simple commands such as sit and lay but could learn so much more if the time is spent with her.

Story
Meet Cosmo! Cosmo is a 4–5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a big heart, a happy spirit, and energy for days. He’s everything people love about the breed, athletic, affectionate, and always ready for his next adventure with his favorite humans. Cosmo truly loves people. He’s friendly, sweet, and enjoys spending time with adults, kids, and other dogs. He’s the kind of pup who wants to be part of whatever you’re doing, whether that’s heading out for a walk, tossing a ball, or just hanging out together. We don’t know much about Cosmo’s past, but what we do know is that he’s eager to learn and wants to please. While he hasn’t had a ton of formal training yet, he’s already making great progress in foster care and picking things up quickly with consistency and positive guidance. Cosmo will do best in a home that understands and embraces the GSP lifestyle, including: Experience with active breeds or a willingness to learn Daily exercise and mental enrichment Ongoing work on leash skills and basic manners Because Cosmo is energetic and vocal, apartment living isn’t the right fit for him. He’s happiest when he has room to move and a job to do, whether that’s running, hiking, training, playing, or exploring alongside his people. Cosmo comes with some great basics already in place: Neutered Heartworm negative Up to date on vaccines Crate trained House trained Dog and kid friendly Would do best in a home with no cats If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving, athletic companion who will keep you moving and fill your days with love and adventure, Cosmo may be the perfect addition to your family.
