Story
Liesel is a sweet girl with loads of energy. She likes walks, but needs a fenced yard to run and fetch as well. She is dog reactive and when she came to us we were told she does not like other dogs, but that isn't true. She is just dog selective and has spent time with six different dogs while in our care and has done very well. Introducing the dogs in a proper manner is crucial to successfully getting Liesel to accept a new canine friend. She gets very excited when you first come home or greet her and will tend to jump to say HI, but once things get calm, she calms down as well. She has had some training sessions with 3 different trainers and knows some commands. Liesel has calmed down slightly since coming to us, but she will always be a bit high strung and her adopter must understand and accept that. it is just part of who she is. Liesel loves people, both children and adults, and just needs someone to love her for the dog she is. She wants to please and will be loyal and loving forever, if given the chance..

Story
Meet Benji. Benji is 3-years-old. His mother is a chocolate Labrador Retriever and his father is a standard merle poodle. His hair is silky and straight rather than super curly and coarse like most doodle breeds. He is energetic and needs plenty of exercise everyday. Benji loves people and particularly loves kids. He is affectionate and likes attention and would do really well with a family with children. We are unable to keep Benji because my husband’s health has changed. Benji’s a great dog and will be a great addition to your family! Benji will come with an XL crate and an XL travel kennel. By the way, Benji is used to taking long road trips. He’s a great travel companion. He’s a big, strong dog with a big soft heart! If you’re looking for a small cutesy dog, he’s not a good fit for you!

Wilson

Labrador Retriever

Male, Adult
Marysville, OH
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This handsome gentleman arrived around 6 months ago. He basically was shut down. He laid in his kennel not wanting any human contact or attention. One of our staff decided to spend time with him. After many days of sitting outside his kennel, Wilson decided to approach our staff member. Even more time passed and he allowed himself to be petted and started little head boops. He continued at a slow pace to feel comfortable running in the yard and after a while he is now comfortable walking on a leash. He is still shy when meeting new people and will probably need a couple visits with anyone interested in adopting him. He has done well with the dogs he has met here at the shelter and has been respectful to our house cats. He will need work on house breaking. He is very sweet and lovable once he has become comfortable with you. Due to his comfort level he would do best in a quiet home with no small children.
