Story
Meet Bella! Bella is a sweet and clever girl with a gentle soul with a love for the little things in life. She enjoys leisurely walks where she can stop and sniff to her heart's content, all while showing off her lovely leash manners. When the adventure ends, Bella is happiest curled up on a big cozy blanket, ready for snuggles and quiet companionship. Because of her past, Bella is looking for a calm, adult-only home where she can feel safe and relaxed. She seems unfazed by her short experience with our house cats but can be selective towards other dogs. Especially other female dogs. Bella does wonderfully to keep her kennel space clean, having no accidents since arriving at the shelter and does not tear her blankets. Bella would thrive with someone who appreciates peaceful moments, soft blankets and the loyal affection of a truly wonderful companion. Story
Meet Sweet Tater! A one of a kind pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart (once you get to truly know each other)! Tater is an energetic, clever boy who we believe may be a Lab and Shiba mix- and honestly, it fits him perfectly. From his adorable curly tail that wags with enthusiasm to his intelligence, independence and touch of stubbornness, Sweet Tater keeps life interesting! He has a bright, life-filled smile that shows off his playful spirit and once he's comfortable with you his sweet side truly shines. Sweet Tater tends to bond closely with one person and may take some time to warm up to new people, so he'll do best in a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced owner. One that understands that trust is something earned and may take time, but when it happens it's incredibly rewarding for both of you! While Tater can be dog selective, usually doing best with calm, docile and submissive dogs who don't challenge him, we recommend he be the only pet in the home so he can fully relax and thrive. As for feline companions Sweet Tater has a high prey drive and would not do well in a home with a cat. Sweet Tater would love a home with a large yard to run in or a person who enjoys frequent walks and outdoor time. He has energy to burn and benefits greatly from both physical and mental enrichment. Speaking of enrichment - this boy is very smart! He loves puzzle toys like kongs and excels at scent based activities, especially when treats are hidden around the yard. Watching him carefully sniff out every last treat hidden in the yard is a true testament to his intelligence. When playtime rolls around, Sweet Tater enjoys toys and proudly shows off his talents for expertly dismantling them - durable toys are highly recommended! He's still in need of continued training and a patient, committed owner willing to work through his stubborn streak to uncover the loyal, affectionate companion underneath. If you are an experienced dog owner looking for a unique, intelligent and deeply rewarding bond, Sweet Tater may be the perfect match for you. Give him the time, structure and understanding he needs and he'll repay you with devotion, personality and plenty of tail wags!

Story
I have had her since she was a puppy. She is 7 turning 8 in July. She is a nervous girl but super sweet and loving once she gets to know you. She lived in a 5 dog household until she was 6. She loves cats but tends to do better with no other dogs. She likes kids. She does not have any sort of aggression towards food or toys or anything like that. She likes a calmer living situation and loves to be loved on and cuddled.

Story
Meet Frankie Frankie is a sweet 10-month-old yellow Lab mix with a soft heart, a puppy spirit, and so much love to give.At about 40 lbs, Frankie is still very much a growing boy playful, affectionate, and learning how to navigate the world. Like many young dogs, he exhibits typical puppy behaviors and will benefit from continued training, structure, exercise, and consistency as he grows into the wonderful companion he has every potential to be. Frankie can be a little shy when meeting new people. If you stand over him or rush the introduction, he may back away at first. But when you get down on his level and give him a little time, his whole demeanor changes. He will approach, lean in for scratches, and start showing you the loving, cuddly boy underneath.Frankie especially loves one of our kennel managers and absolutely lights up when he visits offering his paws, soaking up attention, and showing the sweet, affectionate side that comes out once he knows he can trust you. Its a beautiful glimpse of the connected, loving companion Frankie can become with a family willing to give him patience, guidance, and a chance to feel secure.Frankie is good with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a friendly canine companion or regular dog friends to help build his confidence and burn off some puppy energy. He is looking for a family that understands young dogs need guidance, patience, attention, and consistency. With training, exercise, and a family willing to invest in him, Frankie has all the makings of a loyal, happy, affectionate best friend. He just needs someone to see the good boy he already is and help him grow into the great dog he is meant to become. Apply to adopt Frankie at www.caninecollective.org

Story
Gus is a loving, affectionate 7-year-old Lab Pit mix who weighs 58lbs. This handsome boy shines when he feels safe. He’s the ultimate snuggle buddy, curling up for cozy cuddles on the couch or bed. Gus loves playing with stuffed animals — carrying them, squeaking them, and enjoying tug or fetch. He attended a board and training facility and knows excellent manners: “place,” sit, lay down, shake, and even give hugs on command. At 7, he has a calm, loving adult personality with playful moments.Important notes:•  Single-dog home only — Gus resource guards and doesn’t always get along with other dogs.•  Afraid of men; takes time to warm up (best with patient, slow introductions; women as primary caregiver ideal).•  Scared of the vet but always praised for being good and patient.Gus is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, house-trained, and loves Greenie toothbrushes. He’ll thrive with someone experienced with shy dogs who can give him time to trust and blossom. He has so much love to give!
