Story
We are currently on a transport all the way up in OR, and will be traveling back through NorCal. Mabel's adoption unfortunately fell through due to no fault of her own! We are sharing her in hopes that maybe we will find her a good home before heading back into SoCal. We will be in OR between 4/28-4/29, and will be traveling through NorCal the evening of 4/29 through 4/30. If it works out that we are able to find her an amazing home, GREAT!! If not, that's okay too because we do these transports monthly and will be back up in May 💕 Meet our sweet girl Mabel 💕 Approximate Birthday: 9/25/25 Weight: 15 lbs (as of 04/15/26) Mabel is something truly special 💗 As the only girl of the trio, she carries herself a little differently. There is a quiet strength in her, a calmness that feels far beyond her age. She is my observer… always close by, watching, taking everything in, making sure she feels safe and secure before stepping into anything new. She is beautifully independent. While her brothers find comfort in being close to one another, Mabel is perfectly content in her own space. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate on her own, completely at ease. There is a wisdom in her… a calm, collected presence that makes you pause and really see her. And then, just when you least expect it, her puppy side comes out and you see that playful spark, especially when treats are involved 😊 Mabel is a poodle/cocker spaniel mix with a soft hypoallergenic coat, and we expect her to be around 18–20 lbs full grown. Her story, like her brothers, is one rooted in love and loss. Her previous owner had been battling cancer quietly and, after reaching remission, chose to bring joy back into her life. She went to bring home one puppy, but her heart couldn’t leave the other two behind… so she brought all three home, creating a family for herself. Tragically, her remission did not last, and when her cancer returned, it came back aggressively. She passed away in her home, and a kind neighbor stepped in immediately to make sure the puppies were safe. Working with the owner’s daughter, who was unable to take them, she ensured they would find their way to a safe and loving place… which led them to us. Mabel has had all of her vetting restarted from the beginning. She has received multiple DA2PP vaccines, two Bordetella vaccines, and her rabies vaccine. Her fecal test came back negative, she is microchipped, and has had a full veterinary exam with a health certificate ready for her future family. She has not yet been spayed, as we recommend waiting until 10–12 months of age for proper development. She will go home on a spay contract. She is doing wonderfully with house training on a consistent 2–3 hour schedule and has kept our home accident free. She is crate trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and does great on car rides. Mabel is great with other dogs, wonderful with cats, and gentle with men, women, and children alike. She does well with grooming, bath time, and loves water 💦 Leash training will be new for her, but with patience, consistency, and a treat pouch, she will do very well. Mabel is for someone who appreciates a softer, quieter soul… a dog who will bond deeply, observe the world with you, and love you in the most steady and genuine way 💗 Adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/mabel This covers the care, time, training, socialization, grooming, and full veterinary work invested into her.

Story
Meet Grandma Croissant! Grandma Croissant is a small senior dog with a long history behind her and a much softer chapter ahead. She came to us after being found tied up outside, with severely matted hair that suggested years of neglect. Thanks to a kind passerby, she is now safe and receiving the care she always deserved. She has since had a full veterinary workup. Grandma Croissant is both blind and deaf, and she is currently living with advanced dental disease. She has a dental procedure scheduled, which we hope will bring her some much-needed comfort. Based on her condition, she is estimated to be between 14 and 18 years old. Right now, she is adjusting to a life of warmth, soft bedding, and regular meals. She spends most of her time resting and benefits from a calm, predictable environment. Because she cannot see, a small and consistent space will help her safely learn her surroundings. Grandma Croissant is looking for a home that understands the needs of a super senior dog. She will require patience, gentle handling, and a commitment to keeping her comfortable. In return, she offers quiet companionship and the opportunity to provide dignity and care in her final stage of life. She may be a good fit for a variety of homes, as long as they can provide the time and stability she needs. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! If you would like to be considered as Croissant's forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Adoption fee includes; spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, dewormer, fecal testing, flea/tick prevention and age-appropriate vaccines. Grandma Croissant would do great in a home with...Cats : Yep! Dogs : Yep!  Kiddos : Yep!   ##2711965##
