Austin is at Project POOCH. To learn more and to apply, go here - pooch.org/austin Austin is a sweet, goofy, playful dog. He is a silly character who really shines with the people he is most comfortable with. Here at POOCH he joins in for playgroups, and can share space politely with dogs of varying sizes. While he has an unknown past, we know he'll be amazing in your present and future. Originally a stray in Marion County, Austin has learned how to be a dog here at POOCH. He has grown in leaps in bounds. He had a rough bout of Giardia that caused some additional complications, but we are happy to report that he has gained weight and doing much better! Additionally, he has discovered that he loves to play with other dogs. We have also given him a few haircuts since his arrival, so pardon any pictures that remind you of the kid whose mom cuts his hair (We do our best, but we are far from professionals!) While at POOCH, we have had the opportunity to allow Austin to make lots of dog friends. He loves to play chase and is a fast fellow! However, he is very respectful of fellow POOCH Jasmine, who isn't as into his type of fun and games all the time. He can play with a variety of dogs, from pushy huskies to tiny tyrants, Austin is pretty good about making play work. He would really make an EXCELLENT second dog in a home, as he tends to take cues from the other dogs really well. Some things Austin loves: - Crinkly toys - Almost all toys, but the ones that make a little bit of noise easily are a lot of fun! - The pool - He loves to lounge in the water and splash with his friends. - Booty Scritches - He will arch up like a cat. (He is actually rather cat-like) - When you put your hand out and he can lean his face in while getting scritches. This bouncy noodle boy is one of our trainer's favorites because of his bubbly personality, and goofy character. At the end of the night he gets to roam in and out of the classroom with some dog friends and he will run in to choose a toy, before running out to play with it outside. Rinse and Repeat until we have to go gather all the toys and get everyone settled into bed. OK, we know he's perfect. The downside: This description of Austin is from those who know him, and he knows. He is still learning that new people aren't too scary. He is not the doodle for a busy household right away. If what you read sounds like a dog you could love, it just will take a little time (and some cheese, Austin does like cheese!)

Meet Stone! The gorgeous 4-year-old purebred AKC Labrador. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Happy, playful, and the definition of a great family dog. He LOVES ball and has high energy for adventures, but hes also extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle. He's been great kids. He would do well as an only dog or with a female dog of similar size that he can play with. He has some prey drive so he would do best in a home without cats or chickens. This is a courtesy post. Please call Jeremy for more info at 541-337-1752. Meet Ruby — a 3-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix (female, ~60 lbs) who wakes up ready to work, play, and love hard. Ruby is exuberant, athletic, and sharp. She’s agile, eager, and genuinely fun to train. She works hard for food, lights up for affection, and wears her whole heart on her face — emotionally expressive, loyal, and usually sporting that big Lab grin. Medium-to-high energy, she can settle at home, but she truly thrives with a job: running, biking, structured training, or a big fenced yard to burn it off. She’s dog-social, though a bit much — not perfect with every dog. With the right intro to the right male playmate, she can be a great buddy. She has prey drive, so she’s not a cat home. Her intensity also means she’s probably not the best fit for young kids. She already has a serious training foundation: nice leash walking, sit, down, place, crate trained, happy in the car, and clear marker-based communication. She can crate while you work with no drama. She really needs a fenced yard and someone experienced with high-drive dogs who will keep training and exercise consistent. If you want a partner who lives for kisses, loves to learn, and beams with life, Ruby is looking for her person.

Jackson (Jax) is looking for his family! Please adopt me now <3 This guy is a fun loving 70 lbs American Bulldog mix with possibly some other bully and/or Weimaraner mixed in. He is about 6 years old.  He loves to go for walks, would be an excellent running/hiking buddy.  He is so crate trained that if you say kennel, he goes right to it.  He also will put himself to bed in his crate if he feels you are staying up too late.  He has that awesome puppy energy but the smarts to immediately calm down as soon as you say his name.  He knows sit, lay down, go out (from the kitchen lol) and walks beautifully on a leash. Best as an only dog because his past experience with other dogs is mixed. He does best with a strong leader. No cats, but he is okay with chickens. Out of an abundance of caution, no small kids even though he's shown no issues with kids and actually likes them. He's fixed, chipped, and current on his vaccinations. Adoption fee of $250 includes the aforementioned items. Currently in need of new foster (or adopter) in Oregon. He can be adopted in Oregon or Southwest Washington.
