Details
Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Max is super sweet, loves to play, is excited for adventures and new places, loves to hunt (has caught a mouse and possum), is smart-loves learning new tricks, and very patient with kids. We got him from League City Animal Shelter and tried to reach possible owners but didn’t have any luck. Because of his past, he’s VERY anxious. Although he’s been an amazing dog, he doesn’t like to be left alone for any period of time. We have taken him to dog daycare, but he’s anxious there too. Although he doesn’t mind other dogs, he doesn’t interact with them and we’ve never seen him in a home environment with other dogs. He does seem to be a guys’ dog, but is friendly with people. I’m not sure if he needs more space, but he does need someone very patient and understanding who can be there for him. He’s undergoing heartworm treatment until May 12th, but is otherwise healthy and happy. He plays fetch, loves to cuddle and loves walks.

Story
Glenda enjoys going out for walks with her foster family and playing with her foster siblings in the yard. She absolutely LOVED the Houston snow day last month and did not want to spend any time inside the house with the cool weather. Inside the house though, all she needs is a soft bed or comfy spot on the couch to cuddle up and watch her animal shows. Her favorite shows and movies have other dogs and wolves in them. The only things that can get her to abandon her shows are meal times or her favorite snack, cheese.

Story
Scooter here! If you're looking for a playful, loving, and smart new bud, look no further. I am all those things and more. I just want someone to give me all the love I deserve and maybe rub my belly from time to time. I am an affectionate boy with lots of love to give. I am also very friendly and get along with everyone I meet. I'm full of energy and love to play, so I'll never turn down an opportunity to chase my squeaky toy or play fetch in the park. Speaking of parks, I'll need plenty of those, as I have a lot of energy to burn and I love to explore new places. I am very curious and have been known to get into a little bit of trouble if I'm not kept occupied, so if you're looking for an adventurous companion, I'm your guy! I am good with other dogs and right now I'm living with other dogs and doing fine. My previous foster said I slept with one of her children, so I'm good with kids, although an older, larger child might be better able to handle my exuberance. I'll also need a secure yard with a 6-foot fence, since I've been known to jump a 4-foot fence in my desire to play and explore. If you're ready for a fun and loving addition to your family, come and meet me today! If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.April 30, 2025, 6:24 pm

Story
Introducing.... Clooney! This sweet boy was rescued from a high volume shelter as soon as he was added to the euthanasia list after being there since last October. He is SUPER grateful to be out of there and loves everyone he meets. He is young, born around October 2020 and needs a home willing to continue his training. He is an active Flat Coated Retriever mix male who weighs around 55 pounds. He likes to sit in a lap and give hugs - sometimes it is a little too much:) He gets along well with other dogs. He is potty trained and is quickly learning basic obedience commands. Not recommended for homes with small children at this time since he is still learning not to jump up on people and might accidentally knock them over. If you are interested in him, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!
