Story
Bruce is a 1 year old 53 pound fixed male Lab mix. Owner surrendered due to high energy. The owner reported he loved the grandkids, played with kittens, and chihuahuas. He is a very strong puller on the leash, so still needs to learn his leash manners. Can be anxious on car rides. He was being potty trained to alert his owner, but this doesn't seem to work for him. He will most likely respond better to a potty schedule instead. He can be an escape artist with crates and be noisy. So there is some seperation anxiety when left alone. The owners moved from a country setting to an apartment setting recently, so it is suggestive that an apartment lifestyle isn't his jam. His favorite toys are the hard plastic ones from Bark. This animal is already spayed or neutered and their adoption fee is free. All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible a heartworm test will be done and if negative the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. All animals receive a flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped. All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first come, first serve. We do not offer holds. We do not require in most cases that adopters bring all their families members and dogs for a meet and greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period. We do not allow after hours drop off.

Story
Woozel is one of the four six-month-old Labrador retriever mixes. He is single-handedly the most confident of his brothers. He has a habit of visiting his brother's apartments and stealing their toys. He LOVES to munch on and tear apart his toys, so he will need some stronger stuffies or chew toys. When playing with his brothers, he will approach the shyer of them and encourage them to play with him. Woozel is constantly running and bounding around, looking for someone to play with. He is extremely social and would do well in a home where he can roughhouse with another dog. The adoption fee of $100 is a refundable deposit. The adopter will be responsible to have the animal spayed or neutered within 90 days at the clinic of their choosing. If this is completed within the required 90 days the adopter is to submit required documentation that includes a spay/neuter certificate, a receipt for the spay/neuter, and a rabies certificate to get their refund of up to the deposited amount. Spay and Neuter is required for adoption per our adoption contract and by Indiana State Law. We accept cash, card (with a 3% charge), and check. All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible a heartworm test will be done and if negative the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. Story
Meet Lucy, a gorgeous girl with a beautiful coat and the sweetest heart, available for adoption in New England and the Midwest! At 4.5 months old, Lucy is a total wiggle-butt and is always excited to make new friends! She plays nicely and loves spending time outside with her canine buddies. She has spent time with kids 10 and up and enjoys being part of whatever the family is doing. This smart cookie already knows several commands including the most important one of all… “treat!” She is very food and praise motivated, which makes training fun! She goes to the door when she needs to potty, sleeps well in her kennel, and loves cuddles, belly rubs, and giving out kisses. Lucy is a playful girl who loves toys, chasing a ball, and snow days. She also takes her “backyard detective work” very seriously and thinks mole-hunting is a very important job! She rides well in the car and is wonderful at the vet, happily greeting people and showing polite interest in other dogs. She has been curious about cats and has not shown negative behavior, but slow and thoughtful introductions would be best in a home with kitties. Lucy is up to date on vaccines and is available for adoption in New England and The Midwest. She is ready to bring joy, laughter, playtime, and lots of love to her forever family! If Lucy sounds like your perfect match, please apply to adopt her on our website www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Roxy is almost five years old! She loves lots of love and attention!! I took her in when my grandmother could no longer care fore her. Unfortunately, I am incredibly to busy for what Roxy needs. She had a hard time to adjust at my house at first with my dog and cat; however, she adapted quickly. She adores pure attention and loves treats! She is house broken, listens to simple commands, and loves to run (in a fenced in area). She’s too sweet for me and deserves someone who has time for her.
