Story
Meet Cadmium!A 56lb, 8-year-old, Lab Retriever mix who came to the shelter with another dog and their son through no fault of her own. When she first arrived, she was understandably timid, but it didn’t take long for her true personality to shine through. Once she settled in, Cadmium blossomed into a friendly, affectionate companion who enjoys the company of people and happily soaks up attention. She’s not especially interested in toys, but she is a fan of the simple pleasures in life—being outside, enjoying fresh air, and spending time with her humans. Cadmium doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and has a calm, easygoing presence that makes her a lovely match for a relaxed home.If you’re looking for a sweet, loving dog who’s ready to enjoy life by your side, Cadmium could be your perfect match. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Story
This loveable guy is Shadow! Shadow is a 4-year-old, 103-pound Lab mix who is as sweet as they come! This big, lovable boy adores being near his people and thrives on affection. In fact, Shadow isn’t a fan of being left alone—he’d much rather be your constant companion, soaking up all the love and attention you have to give. Shadow has a refined palate when it comes to treats; while the usual ones don’t interest him, he can’t resist a good piece of string cheese or a hot dog. He’s a total softie for snacks and cuddles! We haven’t had the chance to see his playful side just yet, but Shadow seems like the kind of pup who would love toys and a little fun. With his happy demeanor and gentle nature, Shadow is ready to be your new best friend and biggest fan. ????We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Story
Bruce is a 1 year old 53 pound fixed male Lab mix. Owner surrendered due to high energy. The owner reported he loved the grandkids, played with kittens, and chihuahuas. He is a very strong puller on the leash, so still needs to learn his leash manners. Can be anxious on car rides. He was being potty trained to alert his owner, but this doesn't seem to work for him. He will most likely respond better to a potty schedule instead. He can be an escape artist with crates and be noisy. So there is some seperation anxiety when left alone. The owners moved from a country setting to an apartment setting recently, so it is suggestive that an apartment lifestyle isn't his jam. His favorite toys are the hard plastic ones from Bark. This animal is already spayed or neutered and their adoption fee is free. All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible a heartworm test will be done and if negative the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. All animals receive a flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped. All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first come, first serve. We do not offer holds. We do not require in most cases that adopters bring all their families members and dogs for a meet and greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period. We do not allow after hours drop off.

Story
Not looking to make money. I want them to have a sweet, kind, loving home. Gus is 6 years old and was brought home to us as puppy from a local breeder. He is energetic but also very loyal and loving. He wants all of the attention in the world. He loves to play ball, go to dog parks and take walks. He gets excited easily when I get home or new people come over, but eventually settles down. We are looking to keep him with our other dog, Dane, a boxer. Our boxer is attached to him now after almost 4 years and they are best buds whether Gus likes it or not. :) They are both crate trained. Dane does not like it if Gus gets to go somewhere without him and that is the only time he gets nervous in the cage. Gus has done well being left at home and not in the crate. I have not tried it often with Dane as he likes to get into things, but he might do okay. They are house trained. They love to play with each other, so a nice fenced in back yard would be a great asset for them.
