Our dear dog needs more attention and love than we can give her now that we have a baby in the house.She does fine with older kids, but doesn’t tolerate babies or toddlers very well.Ideal home would have no other pets, no toddlers or infants.She is house trained and obeys basic commands. She does not get on furniture or chew on items left out. She will face outbound while outdoors as a protector response.She has had professional training for basic commands.We don’t want to have to put her down, so please adopt her.

To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Lives up to his lab nature, and is extremely food motivated! Enjoys learning new things in his foster home and has already mastered "Sit" and "Lay Down" - Has done well with the school-age children and dogs in his foster home. Would adjust well to a family with both two and four-legged family members! - His foster home has noted some prey drive outside so introductions to cats or small pets in his next home will need to be taken slowly - Loves belly rubs and extra tough toys that he can chew on - Has been mostly potty trained in his foster; has had the occasional accident particularly after guzzling from his water bowl - Will need some additional guidance with crate training. Has been learning how to settle in his foster home though extra patience and positivity from his new family will help get him all of the way there! The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
