Buddy is a 6-year-old Labrador/Pyrenees mix looking for a loving new home. He’s a friendly, easygoing dog who enjoys walks, playing with kids, and spending time with his people. He also gets along well with other dogs.Buddy has been a great companion, but he has shown some uneasiness around our infant, so we feel it’s best to find him a home that’s a better fit for his comfort.We’re hoping to find someone who can give Buddy the safe, happy environment he deserves. A few years ago I had to put my dog down and I went to hang out with my brother at a friend's house. His friend had a dog that was in a kennel with the blanket over it next to the bathroom. I moved the blanket and I seen my baby that I just had to put down. she looked just like my dog. I asked what was she doing with it she said she was sending it to ARL the next day and I know how to ARL treats pit bulls so I told her no she wasn't. I took the dog. she was 6 months old at the time. she has his cute little thing where she likes to grab the leash by the handle and I hold the link part so that she can feel like she's walking me. she also likes to take trash bags out of my hands so she can carry one to the trash. she's a good girl I just don't have the time to take care of her.

To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.--- - Perfect companion who wants to be with you always; will follow you wherever you go and loves to sleep in bed with you- Loves to lounge but also gets very excited to go for walks - Loves to carry a ball around and will play fetch but may not always want to give it back - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip: "Dex is a very sweet and kind dog. He did great riding in the car. He even snuggled with my daughter as we were driving. He absolutely loved watching kids play at the park. He would get so excited with the kids around. He also got to experience putting his paws in a creek. He loved getting a cool drink of water." - Loves to eat and loves treats - Has been fully potty trained in his foster home and is able to be left with free roam of the house day and night; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Has had great interactions with multiple school-age kids and may enjoy a home with mature children- Has done great with other dogs in his foster home; doesn't really play with them but enjoys hanging out with them and may enjoy a like-minded dog friend; especially enjoys a dog friend when his people are gone This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
