Story
A few years ago I had to put my dog down and I went to hang out with my brother at a friend's house. His friend had a dog that was in a kennel with the blanket over it next to the bathroom. I moved the blanket and I seen my baby that I just had to put down. she looked just like my dog. I asked what was she doing with it she said she was sending it to ARL the next day and I know how to ARL treats pit bulls so I told her no she wasn't. I took the dog. she was 6 months old at the time. she has his cute little thing where she likes to grab the leash by the handle and I hold the link part so that she can feel like she's walking me. she also likes to take trash bags out of my hands so she can carry one to the trash. she's a good girl I just don't have the time to take care of her.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
- Loves spending time with people; would prefer a family that includes him in adventures and doesn't leave him alone for long periods of time - Has done well with other dogs and would benefit from doggy daycare or other structured enrichment and interaction This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 49 Age: 3yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
- A goofball who loves to be busy and connect with people through play, toys, and other activities - Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats! - This boy has big energy; will do best with a harness on walking adventures - Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended) - Must meet any resident dogs before adoption - The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Blackey may be a senior, and despite his beginnings, he holds no grudges—just gentleness, sweetness, and hope for a better tomorrow. He’s a low-maintenance companion who adores belly rubs, naps, and rolling happily on a soft surfaces just to amuse himself! Blackey gets along beautifully with calm dogs and would do best in a peaceful home with no young kids. He’s sensitive to loud noises like storms/firecrackers, but responds wonderfully to soft calm voices and gentle love. He doesn’t need much—just a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and cherished in his golden years. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
