Story
Nala is an almost 7 year old labrador pitbull mix. She was born December 17th, 2017. She is a sweet, cuddly, loving dog. She will always make you feel loved when you walk in the door, and you will always have someone to look forward to. She is protective and alert. She is very sensitive to storms and will always let you know when there is one coming. She would do best in a home where she can be the center of attention! She loves to run around and would do great with a fenced in yard. She is a bit needy but, all she really wants is love and snuggles. She does well alone, and is potty trained. She loves to smell new smells, go on adventures, and car rides are her favorite. As much as she loves to roll in the grass basking in the sun, her most favorite thing in the world is to cuddle up in the bed at the end of the night (probably between your legs). If you are looking for a snuggly, adventurous, happy dog to welcome into your home, Nala is your girl.

Hello! We need to find this beautiful and handsome good boy a new home. Reason being, I'm physically unable to take care of him anymore. It's heartbreaking to let him (Mandoo) go since we love him very much. If anybody can give this golden heart boy both love, time, care and attention -- please let us know. Since we care about him so much, we will have to do a meet & greet first to make sure we feel comfortable with you and that you feel comfortable with him. We want to make sure he is very safe. If after you adopt him, and it does not work out, we would consider taking him back (vs him going to a shelter). His breed is actually a mix of Lab and Bull Terrier ... we never once heard him growl at us or any others, he's just so sweet its adorable! He's total potty trained and he is great with other dogs, kids and people in general. Also, Mandoo is very obeying for everything and is just so smart! Thank you please contact me if you are interested in our sweet golden heart boy.

Supporters and Recurring Giving Donors will be put on our VIP Application List &#226&#128&#139 Adoption Costs and other important information. Current Hours and VIP Donor (Effective 07/30/2024) Wednesday through Friday are open hours 11am to 5pm. Saturday open hours 10am to 4pm. Tuesdays are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are closed on Sunday and Monday. All surrenders are still by prior approval and appointment only. Even if you are only coming in to look during our open hours, you can still fill out our application prior to visiting. This will save time if you do decide to adopt. Preference on adopting a pet is given to our Shelter Supporters and VIP Donors . When animals arrive at the shelter, VIP donors will be emailed and given the first option to set up an appointment to view an animal of their choice. Click on the link above for full details. Due to limited staff, we may not be able to answer the phones. All information is available on this website, or can be answered by email to staff@sterlingshelter.org . Please be patient, we are doing the best we can to handle the volume. If you don't See any pets on our PETS for ADOPTION PAGE - it simply means that all of the animals were adopted.  We have several areas in/around the shelter to view and interact with the pet/s that you are potentially going to adopt. This includes outdoor, fully fenced yards. We encourage you to bring currently owned dogs so you can introduce them to any dogs that you are interested in adopting. Planning YOUR Visit to Adopt: please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time, please make sure you have any/all necessary paperwork required for adoption and help us stick to our schedule/s - so others do NOT have to wait. You should plan  * For cats/kittens plan for 30 to 45 minutes. * For dogs/puppies plan for 45 to 60 minutes.  If you have another dog/s at home - make sure to bring him/her - we have plenty of space/areas to do a meet and greet with a new dog and your dog/s. Stare into these deep brown eyes and you'll see a rare sight - a unicorn. That special sighting is Cooper, an eight year old purebred yellow lab. Shy, sweet, gentle with cats, great with other dogs, and friend to all people, all ages. Cooper is, simply put, a lovely, lovely dog. Until recently Cooper was with one family, but the ball they were thrown was not one Cooper could retrieve and sadly he was put up for adoption. It was hard to give him up, and hard for Cooper to adjust. He is a lovely dog and will flourish in any home. House trained, good on leash, and an all around gentle soul, Cooper is waiting for you.
