Story
Travis is not only handsome, he is also very gentle and lovable.  Travis ended up in foster when his rescuer found out that his family had been evicted, and couldn't take him with them.    He is very easy going and would make a great family companion.  Travis walks very good on a leash and is potty trained.  Loves the company of other pups.  Cats, yes.  Would love to be your ride or die for car rides and as many walks as you want to take. ##2008962##

Story
Age: ~12 weeks DOB 2/2/24   Breed: 1/2 Chocolate Lab/1/2 German Short Hair pointer (mom and dad were both pure need breeds/papered)  Current size: 12 pounds Size potential: medium to large. Potential to be 50 pounds, tall and lean.  Leash trained: Just received her, we are working on it!  Crate Trained: Last night was her first night her, she whimpered a little at first, maybe 5-8 minutes worth. Once the bedroom lights went out she crashed! Didn’t make a peep all night and no accidents in her crate!  Potty trained: Just received her, we are in training. But she is SOOO smart! Treat motivated. So we are doing lots of praise and tiny training treats and she is definitely catching on!  Kids: Great with kids!  Other animals: amazing,  we have dogs from 5 pounds to 120 pounds, she makes #18 in the house She’s done great with all of them! Loves to play and rough house.  Loves toys! Ropes, squeaky babies and playology bones. (foster owns animal sanctuary) Energy level: Playful, puppy energy. Spunky! Walking beside you she likes to do twirls and jumps!  House or apartment: prefer she’d have a yard  Story/background: one of my patients came into the office and she has a home health patient that she had to go visit. The couple is in their middle 80s and she noticed that they had a new puppy. And she asked them about it. And they said that their grandkids dropped it off, but they couldn’t take care of it. The story was that the grandkids have a purebred AKC registered lab. And a purebred German shorthaired pointer. I guess Dad, the German shorthaired pointer, got into mom’s kennel and they had an “accidental” litter.  They sold all of the other puppies for quite a bit of money. But they weren’t able to sell Vivian, because she didn’t come out chocolate or looking like a “pointer” color. And in their words, they didn’t want to have to “put her down since they couldn’t sell her” I told my patient to get the dog if she could and I would find the dog a transport out of state or I would give it a home. Ideal home/family lifestyle: I’d love for her to have at least another playful dog to play with. Someone who enjoys hiking or parks to play fetch? She’s going to be very smart with her breed combination and will like activity. ##2038147##

Story
This handsome fellow is Riley. He’s a sweet boy and has a gorgeous coat that shines in the sun. He loves to play - chase and fetch are his favorites! Evening snuggles on the couch are high on his list too, and he’ll sprawl in your lap for a nice belly rub. He’s always up for a car ride or a hike (preferably both!) Riley’s a smart cookie and knows all his commands and listens well. And he gets a gold star for his excellent house manners, so no need for a crate for this pup. Riley was just a baby when he was adopted from Save A Dog in 2020. Clearly he was adored and pampered by his people, but sadly lost his home due to divorce. He really wants to bond with a new person or two and call them all his own. He can be nervous meeting new folks, but will warm up with the help of a few tasty treats. Once he’s comfortable, he loves hugs and will lean his full weight against you trusting that you’ll hold him up! He’s calm and friendly meeting other dogs, and happy to play. Kitties are new to him, but he’s doing well with the felines in his foster home. Since he wasn’t raised around kiddos, an adult home is recommended for him. Riley is such a good boy, and he’ll be a wonderful companion in his forever home. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp.
