Story
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Charlotte's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Charlotte - an 9 month old Black Lab mix gal who weighs 40 pounds at the time of this posting on 6/4/25. This poor girl was living in bushes at a state park with her brother. She is very friendly, energetic and playful. She is a little ball of fire ready to go! She would be great with a person/family that does a lot of hiking or is a runner - as she loves a lot of exercise. She would make a great companion for any outdoor activities. She is good with other dogs but does prefer to the be the one to structure the play. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body - just prefers to be the teacher than the student with other pups :). We haven't seen her around kids in rescue but she is so friendly we are guessing she will be just fine. She is a great gal with a wonderful personality who is ready and deserving of a family to love her forever! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Charlotte, you must fill out an adoption application. Story
Some may say that the prettiest dog at the shelter right now is our girl Mabel. And they would not be wrong! Mabel is a beautiful young lab that is the perfect size. She is dainty and delicate with her people. She is crate trained and really enjoys being in her space. This poor baby girl came from a not great situation where she did not have much chance to learn about many normal dog things. Now she can be fearful and nervous. She will need patient adopters who will keep her world small and safe and give her time to become her best self. Mabel could possibly live with a mature helper dog who can give her some confidence and show her the wonders of being a dog. She could possibly live with a dog-savvy cat. Or maybe live with children who can respect a shy dog. Do you think this sweet girl is for you? Come say hello to Mabel.
