Story
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Lola's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Lola, a 3-month-old Lab / Doodle mix, weighing 32 pounds (as of 1/29/26)! This sweet girl and her sister, Lottie (also adoptable) were found roaming the streets of Tennessee. Talk about a hard knock life! They deserve the best forever home with you! This extremely sweet and loving girl can't wait to make everyday that much brighter! When Lola's not entertaining you with her puppy antics, she'll give you advice on when and where to invest! We love that she's looking out for us! Lola's a smart cookie who already knows commands and will sit when she's told and go to the door for a potty break (though she'll still need some understanding with her future family as she's still a puppy and accidents may happen). Bonus points if you give her treats, because really, that's all that matters to her (aside from you of course!) She has experience being crated but will need some help with leashing as she's used to being a free spirit! Lola is looking for a home that is missing playfulness because she'll gladly sign up for the cause! She's also been exposed to cats, dogs and children, making her the perfect companion if you happen to own a zoo. Bring this sweet girl home today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Lola, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. Thank you!** Meet Charlotte - an 9 month old Black Lab mix gal who weighs 40 pounds at the time of this posting on 6/4/25. This poor girl was living in bushes at a state park with her brother. She is very friendly, energetic and playful. She is a little ball of fire ready to go! She would be great with a person/family that does a lot of hiking or is a runner - as she loves a lot of exercise. She would make a great companion for any outdoor activities. She is good with other dogs but does prefer to the be the one to structure the play. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body - just prefers to be the teacher than the student with other pups :). We haven't seen her around kids in rescue but she is so friendly we are guessing she will be just fine. She is a great gal with a wonderful personality who is ready and deserving of a family to love her forever! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. Story
**Please read Tucker Loyal's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Tucker Loyal - an 8 month old, Lab mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 1/10/26)! Tucker was part of our LOYAL pups who were found as strays in Tennessee. He was adopted here in New England and was only with his adopters for a few short days before their landlord switched things up on them. Unfortunately his owner is no longer able to keep him, but Tucker won't give up hope! Tucker is the sweetest dog who loves to play and go for walks, but if you're the type whose love language is physical touch, Tucker is more than happy to cuddle in your lap as well! Tucker's previous home described him as "very smart and super trainable" so while he only knows commands like "Sit" and "Paw," Tucker can't wait to train and learn more with his next family! Tucker would be great in an active family that enjoys going outside as he loves the great outdoors. Bonus points if you have a fenced in yard where he can run to his heart's content! When it comes to other dogs, Tucker will excitedly say "hi" to his fellow dogs and move closer to harmonize with them on walks, but when it comes to life in his future home, he prefers to go solo. Tucker does well in a crate, but will need some understanding and patience from his future family as he masters the potty train express (he's still a young boy after all) But since he's so smart, he hopes to master that in no time! If you're ready to add a rockstar to your home, Tucker is the boy for you! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. She's learning leash manners. We’ve been working on positive reinforcement for not pulling and she’s been doing very well! She gets along with kids, dogs and cats! She would be best with older kids due to her energy level. Check out her video! Mocha is doing great so far, she’s settling in well. She is getting back in the habit of sleeping in the crate. We have already been working on sit, down, place, as well as sitting and waiting when doors are opened. She’s SUPER smart and very food motivated, she’s so cuddly and snuggly!! I do not have any other dogs however she has met my family members dog who was adopted through great dog as well as my friends dogs and has loved them and gotten along with them very well! She's definitely getting into a new routine that will take a little time but so far so good! :) All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption.
