Story
Hello! This is Tank. Tank was born in May of 2024. He is fully updated on his shot, and comes with a full bag of toys, a kennel, bowls, and food. Tank is a timid dog who loves to play fetch, run, jump, and cuddle. We recently moved to a walk up apartment and he is struggling with not getting scared in the stair ways when going outside. He hardly ever makes sound, unless it's at late at night and someone comes to the door. Tank has a feline brother and has never had issues with other dogs at the dog park, or visiting friends. He would do best in a home with a yard where he doesn't have to travel in a tight stairwell. Tank does do well with strangers but prefers women over men. He tends to cower when approached by large men and has never bit. He may take a bit to warm up but over all he is a great dog.

Story
Whose leg do you have to hump to get a dry martini around here? Meet Brian Griffin! This 1-year old lab mix extraordinaire came to us from Quahog, uhhh, we mean local animal control after being picked up as a stray and is quite impressive! Our Brian is not exactly cultured, doesn’t speak fluent French, and definitely isn’t a member of MENSA. He can’t imitate a barbershop quartet without accompaniment, doesn’t have the opposable thumbs to drive a second-generation Toyota Prius, and isn’t a pretentious pseudo intellectual wanna-be author. But he IS witty, intelligent, and has a wonderful sense of humor…he makes a game of removing all of the pillows from the bed and making a pillow fort to impress his humans and has his routine down pat.  Brian is seriously fun loving, friendly, affectionate, confident, and would do so well in so many homes. He lives with a large pittie and a cat and wants to be BFFs with everyone. Like a typical youngster, he is playfully active. He loves walks but can keep himself busy with toys as well. Though truth be told, making new human friends and interacting with people in general is more his style and will gladly ride co-pilot in the car with his head in the crook of your arm. His heart-shaped nose and freckled salt and pepper pendant ears are beyond adorable. And that guyliner?! Pete Wentz and Adam Lambert would be proud!  Brian has a softness in everything he is and everything he does…his eyes, his soul, his fur, his snuggling. He is quick to trust and bonds to humans faster than the speed of love. We know he will be irreplaceable in his future family’s lives and just needs a Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg, Stewie, or even Quagmire to call his own. Due to his age, size, and lack of history, older or no kids would be best for this Family Guy! Brian Griffin’s top 3 priorities: 1. Brian is a love bug and needs a family who will let him be close to them always, which includes cuddling on the couch and snuggling in bed every night. 2. A family filled with LOVE and one who isn’t afraid to show it. 3. A family who will take Brian to a basic obedience class to continue to develop basic manners and make him into the best version of himself. November 4, 2025, 11:33 am

Story
Meet Harley — a 9-year-old Black Lab mix with the chill energy of a seasoned couch connoisseur and the heart of a gentle soul. 🖤 Harley is basically the definition of “low drama, high reward.” Indoors, she’s calm, polite, and perfectly content to lounge by your side — or better yet, on the couch, which she absolutely adores. (Stairs and tall furniture can be tough on her achy joints, so she may need a little encouragement to hop up, and the bed might be a bit too ambitious for her.) Outside, she enjoys a slow wander, following you around the yard like your quiet little shadow, and she’s happy to join you for a walk when you’re ready. She’s crate-trained and house-mannered. Although Harley can live with other laid back pets, she will thrive being the only dog. She is perfectly fine with cats, and stays calm around horses as well. Once she warms up to you, she’ll be your loyal, steady companion everywhere you go — indoors or out. She does get a little anxious in new situations or when meeting new people, so a patient adopter who lets her go at her own pace will win her trust in no time. And once she feels safe? She’s all love and devotion. Harley is currently working on her “summer bod,” so she'll need a human committed to helping her shed a few pounds. She’d do best with kids 13+. At night, she’s made it very clear she prefers to snooze near her people — after all, why sleep alone when you could drift off beside your favorite humans? If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who’s equal parts loyal friend and professional nap partner, Harley’s ready to curl up next to you and make herself right at home. 🐾💤 If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who’s equal parts loyal friend and professional nap partner, Harley’s ready to curl up next to you and make herself right at home. 🐾💤 If you are interested in finding out more about Harley, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Harley is in Berlin, MA. The adoption fee is $400. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Pepper, a 7-year-old Lab with a joyful spirit and a heart full of enthusiasm. Pepper is a wonderful example of a dog who truly defies her age—she has a higher energy level and acts much younger than seven. She loves car rides, happily plays fetch, and enjoys romping with other dogs her size. Folks that have met Pepper often think she is only 2 years old. Pepper is toy-motivated, loves to eat vegetables, and eager to engage with her people. She has previously lived with cats and did well, showing her adaptable and respectful nature. While she hasn’t lived with children, her cheerful personality suggests she might do well with them, they would have to meet first. Pepper would thrive in an active home ready to enjoy her playful, affectionate outlook on life.*Pepper is foster-to-adopt because she does have to come back to the shelter next month and have a broken tooth removed. If you are interested in adopting Pepper, please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. We may have other times available, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org
