Story
STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application.  Meet Green Bean — “Beanie” to her friends Beanie was a fan favorite from the very start. She’s a Labrador Retriever puppy who is playful, confident, silly, and absolutely loves to cuddle - the kind of pup who curls right in and makes herself at home in your heart. Unfortunately, once Beanie was diagnosed with a heart murmur, interest in her dropped, and that breaks our heart because she is still the same amazing puppy. So let’s talk about that for a moment A heart murmur is an extra sound heard during a heartbeat. In puppies, many murmurs are mild and can lessen or even resolve as they grow. Some dogs live long, happy, totally normal lives with them. Treatment and care can vary widely and each dog is different so a consultation with a cardiologist would help explain what care looks like for Beanie’s specific case. Beanie deserves a family who understands that loving her might also mean being prepared for potentially extra care in the future. What Beanie doesn’t know: • She doesn’t know she’s different • She doesn’t know she’s “less adoptable” • She doesn’t know her heart makes an extra sound What she does know: • How to play hard • How to love big • How to snuggle like a pro • How to be the very best girl All of Beanie’s siblings have found their homes… and she is the last one still waiting. She will be 8 weeks old on 12/27, and she’s hoping for a Christmas miracle - a family who sees her, not just a diagnosis. If you’re the kind of person who believes love is worth a little extra care, Green Bean might just be your soulmate   All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess.   BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter! Story
Zion is a 5 year old neutered Lab. He comes from a purebred bloodline. I got him and his brother as puppies not knowing about sibling syndrome.I learned how to keep the boys happy with each other but it caused them both to have anxiety. I recently put Zion on prozac which helped him relax, quit barking excessively and make better eye contact. He had professional training at 1 years old and knows basic commands.Recently he has successfully been trained on outings with strange dogs and people. He is leash trained. He has been around my young grandchildren without any issues. Zion attacked our cat that has lived here as long as he has. He has never liked cats. It was unprovoked and triggered by cat food. He has never bitten any humans. He loves his people fiercely. He would rather lay his head on your lap and be petted than eat a steak. Zion is stubborn,he needs consistent routine and discipline. He would do great as star of the show.

Story
Woof! I'm Iggy, the sweetest labrador mix you could ever hope to meet- seriously, I am a total doll! I may be nearly 60lbs, but I'm a certified lap dog! All that I want is to cuddle up to someone who loves me and spend all day together snuggling or playing fetch! I have so much love to give and can't wait to find a furever home with a family who will adore me. I love every person that I meet and do amazing with all other dogs- I've never met a pup that I didn't try to play with or befriend! Even though I'm an absolute sweetheart, my life hasn't always been easy... I was rescued by Beagle Freedom Project after someone witnessed me being thrown out of a moving car! Can you believe that somebody would be so cruel to a gentle and loving boy like me? Since my rescue, I've been spending every day at Beagle Freedom Project's sanctuary, Freedom Fields, where I'm busy living it up with all of my pup friends-- but what would make me happiest is to finally have the real home I've always dreamed of. I promise to be the most loyal and loving companion ever for my adopter. Could you be the person to finally choose me? In return, I'll give you all of tail wags and kisses every day! My ideal home: An active househould (I love to snuggle AND play!) My location: NOWATA, OK *Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!* *Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter is able to travel to the animal's current location for pickup.* If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/ Please email the Beagle Freedom Project Team with questions at: adopt@bfp.org. Story
Hi! My name is Memphis and I'm sniffing around for my forever family! I'm a sweet, active, and adventurous pup who will make the most wonderful companion. I can be a little bit shy at first because of my past... I was abandoned by my previous caretaker-- he threw me out of a moving vehicle! Can you believe that someone would be so cruel to me? When Beagle Freedom Project heart my story, they knew they had to help me. Now, I'm thriving at BFP's sanctuary and learning what it's like to be loved! Once I trust someone, all I want to do is give them affection and cuddles! Despite being 50lbs, I still think I'm a tiny lap pup! I have lots of energy, and I love to run around, play, and make people laugh with my silly personality. If you are gentle, patient, and looking for a loyal and true best friend, I'm your guy! My ideal home: An active household. My location: NOWATA, OK *Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal.
