Story
Poppy is a 4-year-old, 60-pound Labrador mix. She is spayed, housebroken, crate trained, and up to date on all vaccinations. Poppy is great with kids, dogs, and cats. If Poppy had one favorite thing in the world, it would be playing with her people—especially kids. She's a sweet, silly girl who loves being included in family life. She's a high-energy dog who would love an active family that enjoys long walks and outdoor adventures. As our family has grown and life has become busier, we've realized we can no longer give Poppy the time and activity she deserves. She needs a securely fenced yard, as she may try to wander if given the chance. She gets anxious with car rides and boarding. She is still learning leash manners, working on not jumping when excited, and occasionally digs in the yard. She has mild resource-gaurding tendencies with other dogs (not people), but this has never escalated into a serious issue. A small rehoming fee applies to help ensure a loving home.

Story
Hi my name is Miyah. I am well behaved if I'm the only dog. I am crate trained and I listen very well. I love children and I'm very energetic.. Miyah is a wonderful dog to have. She doesn't get along with my senior dog. She listens and behaves when it's just her. Goes outside, doesn't make messes inside. Currently she is not up to date on her shots, but I'm going to be fixing that soon.

Story
Thank you to one of our supporters, Arnold's adoption fee has been sponsored!Meet Arnold, a gentle soul with a heart of gold! This affectionate boy is a pro at giving kisses and receiving love. With his calm and quiet nature, Arnold loves to take in his surroundings and observe the world around him. He's a smart cookie who knows most of the basics like sit, touch, and stay just to name a few! He's also a perfect gentleman on walks, as he struts his stuff on the leash with ease.Arnold had a rough start, waiting patiently in a shelter since October, but he's ready to leave his past behind and find his forever home. He's a low-maintenance companion, content to lounge on the couch and snuggle up next to you. But don't be fooled by his couch potato ways; Arnold is also an escape artist! He'll need a physical fence to keep him safe and sound in his new home.Arnold is said to be a Labrador/Terrier mix, approximately 2 1/2-3 years old, house and crate trained, up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly prevention. Arnold has shown to be good with other dogs but is very selective so an only child might be best, unsure on cats, and children over 8 years old please!Arnold is the perfect addition for a family looking for a loving and loyal companion. He's ready to bring a ray of sunshine into your life and fill your heart with hope. Could you be the one to give Arnold the second chance he deserves? Please fill out your application today to set up a meet and greet to meet his wonderful boy!!https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application

Story
What a beautiful gray color Millie is! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 34 pounds. Meet Millie, a sweet young girl who despite her timid, under confident nature, has a heart brimming with potential love. Millie had a rough start in life, having been found living in a basement with several other dogs, but she is ready to leave that life behind and embark on a new adventure with you. Millie is a gentle soul who needs a patient leader to help her blossom. She can become quite overwhelmed with too much going on and can shut down. Millie will need an adopter who has the time to help build her confidence and trust with humans. She has come a long way already since her arrival at the rescue, it has been amazing to watch. She is highly food-motivated, so that will make a great tool to build trust. Millie is on the path to discovering her true self and just needs a supportive family to show her the way. Millie will also need some type of a containment plan upfront while building trust as she may still spook at new things and when she gets scared, she looks for an escape route. A quieter, more predictable type home would be perfect for Millie and any children in the home will need to be at least 13 years old. Millie would love it if you came to meet her and give her a chance, she will require extra patience and guidance, but she will be forever grateful. Millie is wonderful with other dogs and has to have a furry sibling in her new home to help boost her confidence and help her learn to trust humans. She came to the rescue with her best friend Roberto, as you can see in her video (on Petfinder), she is being silly playful through the fence with him while their kennels were being cleaned. She just loves to be with other dogs, and it is an absolute must that she has another dog to be with in life. If you are interested in Millie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Awesome dog! Very goofy, high energy, good with other dogs and cats. We just had a baby and are nervous because bear shows food aggression with animals when feeding. Other than that he is amazing. I believe he is 8 years old, has papers, pure bread. Loves playing
