Story
Poppy is a 4-year-old, 60-pound Labrador mix. She is spayed, housebroken, crate trained, and up to date on all vaccinations. Poppy is great with kids, dogs, and cats. If Poppy had one favorite thing in the world, it would be playing with her people—especially kids. She's a sweet, silly girl who loves being included in family life. She's a high-energy dog who would love an active family that enjoys long walks and outdoor adventures. As our family has grown and life has become busier, we've realized we can no longer give Poppy the time and activity she deserves. She needs a securely fenced yard, as she may try to wander if given the chance. She gets anxious with car rides and boarding. She is still learning leash manners, working on not jumping when excited, and occasionally digs in the yard. She has mild resource-gaurding tendencies with other dogs (not people), but this has never escalated into a serious issue. A small rehoming fee applies to help ensure a loving home.

Story
**Please note - Koala is in a foster home, not at the rescue location, therefore, he will need to have a meet and greet appointment scheduled to meet him.Meet Koala, or Ko for short — he's an incredible puppy with a heart as big as his namesake! Initially shy, Koala has blossomed into a playful, curious, and affectionate little guy who loves nothing more than a good belly rub and covering your face in puppy kisses. He's incredibly smart and athletic, always up for a game or learning new tricks, and will be a loyal companion who will protect you with all his might. Koala's ideal home will be one that continues his socialization and helps him build confidence, especially with other dogs. He's currently in a foster home, learning all the basics, from walking on a leash to sitting. With his jolly ball in tow, he's ready to take on the world and find his forever family. Ko does enjoy going for daily walks and car rides!Koala initially came to us with stranger danger and still is uncomfortable with new people, so we are looking for an experienced home and someone that will continue working with us in setting up Ko for success. This includes free training for Koala with our certified dog trainer.Koala is believed to be a Labrador mix, approximately 6-7 months old, neutered, and up to date on his vet care including vaccines, microchip, and monthly prevention. If you're looking for a bundle of hope and joy, Koala is your pup. He's working hard every day to become the best boy he can be and will bring endless love and laughter to the right family. Could that be you? Please fill out our adoption application for pre-approval.https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html

Story
Meet Indie, a 3.5-year-old Lab looking for her happily ever after! Indie is a happy, energetic, and playful girl with so much love to give. She has had a difficult past, but she hasn't let that dim her spirit. She's ready to find a family who will give her the love, structure, and stability she deserves. Indie is a high-energy girl who loves being near her people, zooming around the yard, and most of all- playing fetch! She could happily play for hours if you let her. She would thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of daily exercise. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but she would also do well with a family committed to long walks and other activities. Indie does well with other dogs, although she can have a more dominant play style and does best with similarly sized pups. Once she's comfortable with a new doggy friend, she loves to play and would enjoy having a canine companion in her new home. Indie has had limited experience with cats. Her previous family reported that she attempted to chase their cats, so a cat-free home may be best. We would also consider a family experienced and comfortable with slow, careful introductions. Indie is house trained, crate trained and knows her basic commands. She previously completed an obedience training program, and it shows! She is a smart, well-behaved girl who is eager to please and does especially well with consistency and routine. Indie requires an adult-only home with no children. We believe in being completely transparent about the dogs in our care. Indie was previously adopted into an adult-only home, and she was returned to our care after they reported resource-guarding behaviors, including occasional growling around high-value items. During one incident, Indie bit after she was pet while chewing on a bone. Since coming back into our care, Indie has undergone multiple temperament evaluations, and we have not observed aggressive or concerning behaviors. She has allowed us to handle her food and give and take treats and bones without issue. We also spoke with the trainers who previously worked with her during her board-and-train program, and they reported that they did not observe these concerning behaviors during her time with them. Although we have been unable to replicate the behaviors reported in her previous home, we want to set both Indie and her future family up for success. For that reason, an adult-only home is required. Indie thrives with structure and routine. She enjoys eating in her crate and does wonderfully sitting and waiting until she is given the okay. As with any dog, we recommend respecting her boundaries and allowing her space while eating or enjoying high-value items such as bones. Indie is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. She is currently in the process of being gradually weaned from anxiety medication that she was previously prescribed, and her adoptive family will need to continue this process over the next 4-6 weeks. Indie can experience anxiety during certain stressful situations, particularly vet visits, grooming, and nail trims. We have found that Trazodone and Gabapentin help her significantly during these situations. Indie is a fun, affectionate, active girl who is looking for an experienced, understanding family willing to provide the routine and structure that helps her thrive. In return, they'll get a loyal companion and one seriously dedicated fetch partner! Does Indie sound like the perfect fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!

Meet Thumper 🐾💕 Thumper is a 3-month-old, 18.5 lb girl who is sweet, smart, and eager to learn! She does great with other dogs, has wonderful recall, and already knows “sit” and “here.” She’s also crate trained and will even put herself in her crate when she’s ready to settle down.
