Story
Meet Velma! Velma is an nine-month-old cutie patootie lab mix who weigh in around 45 pounds. Sadly, she was surrendered to GLDR after her owner lost their job. She's understandably confused and longs for the love only her forever family can provide. Let's show her the best is yet to come! Velma loves her time in the yard and soaks up every ounce of attention she can get. This includes rolling around collecting belly rubs or bounding through the yard stopping for snuggles with our volunteers along the way. She is a very social pup and enjoys playing with other dogs too! Velma knows "sit" and walks very well on a leash. As she is still a young lady, she would benefit from continued training as she grows. Velma is house-trained, letting you know when she needs to go outside. She is also crate-trained as well! Velma loves her lambchop toy and appreciates all kinds of treats including greenies and jerky treats. Based on our evaluation, we feel Velma would do well in a home with adults or kids of any age. A yard to explore is a must for this vibrant gal! She may have the ability to live with other animals as well. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like the opportunity to make Velma a member of your family, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit an application today!

Story
Meet Fawn! This two-year-old speckled sweetheart weighs around 50 pounds. She's a lab/pointer mix whose easy-going personality wins over everyone she meets. One look into her soft gaze and you'll be her biggest fan! Fawn appreciates a good massage finished off with a nice booty rub! She will thank you for your kindness with the most gentle kisses. Fawn is food-motivated and sits nicely for her treats which she takes gently. She can focus well on the task at hand and is a very capable girl. She's just waiting to show you all she can accomplish! Based on our evaluation, we feel Fawn would do well in a home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may also have the potential to live in a home with other animals. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Her loving personality will no doubt be adored by the family that brings her home!
