Story
Meet Fawn! This two-year-old speckled sweetheart weighs around 50 pounds. She's a lab/pointer mix whose easy-going personality wins over everyone she meets. One look into her soft gaze and you'll be her biggest fan! Fawn is currently loving her time away in the best foster home! They are beyond impressed with her and say she will make a wonderful addition for one lucky family! Not only is she crate-trained and house-trained, she loves her fur sibling and they two of them get along great! She has done well with children who have visited and is a very affectionate girl! She loves splashing in the water and does well on her daily walks. With a little training she will no doubt make you proud! Fawn appreciates a good massage finished off with a nice booty rub! She will thank you for your kindness with the most gentle kisses. Fawn is food-motivated and sits nicely for her treats which she takes gently. She can focus well on the task at hand and is a very capable girl. She knows "sit" and her recall is improving daily. Based on our evaluation, we feel Fawn would do well in a home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may also have the potential to live in a home with other dogs as she loves her foster fur sibling. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Her loving personality will no doubt be adored by the family that brings her home! If you'd like the chance to make Fawn part of your family, please fill out an application at greatlakesdogrescue.com or contact GLDR today to inquire more about our fabulous Fawn!

Story
Meet Cole! Cole is a captivating one-year-old Labrador/Pyrenees mix who is ready to say so long to the kennel life and find his forever family! All 60 pounds of him is waiting to make you his new best friend! Eager to learn and treat-motivated, Cole already knows "sit" and is capable of learning so much more. As he is still a young man, he will benefit from continued training. Cole will need an active family who will keep him exercised daily and include him in their adventures. A yard for Cole to enjoy is a must for this fun-loving boy. Imagine all the good times you'll have together! Cole's spirited nature shines through when it's time to play ball in the yard and he appreciates every moment of playtime with volunteers. He also loves running the fence with his fellow kennel mates. Cole thrives on social interaction with both human and furry friends alike. Just look at that smile of his! Cole will no doubt be loving and loyal companion years to come. Based on our evaluation, we feel Cole will do well in a home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the ability to live with other animals as he does very well with the dogs here at GLDR. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Cole could be the right pup for your family, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and fill out an application for lovable lab!

Story
**Note: You may need to watch the show “The Big Bang Theory” to understand the humor in this write up. Who do we love? PENNY! PENNY! PENNY! If you are looking for a roommate who is as sweet as Sheldon's spot on couch and as loyal as Leonard's love for the girl next door. Look no further than with me, Penny! I’m the adorable lab mix just waiting for our worlds to collide in our own version of “The Big Bang Theory”. While I may not understand your game of Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock, I am a blast to be around! I prefer things more my speed, such as fetch and playing with toys. I can fetch a ball with the precision of Howard's engineering and sniff out treats faster than Raj musters the courage to talk to women. I’m as friendly as can be and a real social butterfly. I would love to meet all of your friends no matter how odd they may be. We could get together for take out in your living room. Sounds like a good time to me! Giving me belly rubs and ear scratches are guaranteed to elicit a happy "Bazinga!" Okay, maybe just a wagging tail, but it's the thought that counts, right? I’ve been working hard at learning new skills like accessorizing my outfits. Have you seen my beautiful pink harness? A pop of any color, perhaps some mint green, really makes me look good. I have also been to a few training sessions with the Teacher’s Pet Program in my area. I’m learning so much and can’t wait to show you. I am always up for an adventure, except to the laundry room if it’s laundry day. I’d love to explore the world with you or at least the park down the street. I thrive in a fun and vibrant environment with any children being over 8 years old or older. Bonus points if you can quote Th Big Bang Theory on a regular basis. If you're looking for a dog who is as lovable as can be then I am your perfect match! If you are interested in Penny and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
