Story
Ziegler “Ziggy” is in need of a foster home. His family is moving to an apartment, which would not be a good fit for him. He would do best in a calm home with a fenced yard and could enjoy the company of another playful dog after a slow, proper introduction. No cats, might be a little jumpy for small children. Please email dogteam@campcompanion.org with any questions about fostering Ziggy

Story
Meet Savannah! She is a 6 year old yellow lab who is retired from her breeding days and looking for a forever home. Savannah is a calm, sweet, low maintenance girl. She gets along with the dog and cat in her foster home, and loves the kids (although not always the unexpected loud noises they sometimes make.) She would likely fit easily into any family, but her foster mom thinks she would appreciate a quieter, lower energy home. She’d be fine as an only pet, but could also coexist with another lazy cat or dog. At this time she doesn’t show much interest in being a playmate with her foster brother. Savannah is kennel trained - in fact she sees her kennel as her safe space and will stay in there sometimes even with the door open. She is also potty trained as long as she is let out on a regular schedule, as she doesn’t really know how to “ask” to go out. She is still learning how to walk on a leash, but is picking it up quickly. She does need to be “coaxed” sometimes as she’d rather stay in one spot and sniff instead of walk. Savannah doesn’t require a lot - she is very content to lounge around the house most of the day. She does enjoy getting outside and spends more time sniffing than walking on her walks. She loves to roll in the snow! Savannah has likely never lived in a home before so she is still getting used to everyday things like her reflection in the mirror, hardwood floors, stairs and objects that move unexpectedly (like rocking chairs). A single story home with a lot of carpet or rugs would be ideal for this girl, as she finds hardwood floors slippery and hasn’t shown any interest in climbing a flight of stairs. She will do a few stairs to get off the deck, or into the house. Savannah might seem shy at first, but is quick to warm up if you show her some love first. She loves ear scratches and attention in general. She looks forward to mealtimes and follows her nose right to the kitchen if you are cooking something good. She’s very food motivated! Savannah will be spayed on Wednesday, January 14 and will be able to go home the following weekend. Adoption fee is $350+ tax; apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Honey and Junior are a bonded pair of almost 2 year old Labradoodles, and they truly do everything together. These two are inseparable and happiest when they are piled up on top of their favorite person, soaking up all the love they can get. They adore cooler weather and enjoy going for walks, where they walk nicely and listen well. They handle grooming like champs and are easygoing during brushing and handling. Honey and Junior get along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and even cats, making them a great fit for a variety of homes. At the dog park, you are more likely to find them sitting sweetly on a stranger’s lap than roughhousing with other dogs. People are their favorite thing, and affection is their love language. They are gentle, social, and incredibly loving, with hearts that are just as big as their curls. Honey and Junior are looking for a home that understands their bond and is ready to welcome double the love, cuddles, and companionship. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
With his big, soulful puppy dog eyes, Rick is impossible not to fall for. He has all the charm and sweetness you could ever want in a companion. When he is happy, his ears perk into little “heart ears,” as his foster mom lovingly calls them. He even has a “lucky paw,” just like Nemo’s fin. Rick is one of the absolute sweetest companions you could ask for. He is deeply bonded to his foster mom and dad, always waiting by the door for them to come home and following them everywhere. His biggest goal in life is simply to make his people happy. Because of past trauma from being kenneled, Rick does best when left out during the day. He mostly naps, but anything tempting to chew such as straws, remotes, or glasses should be kept out of reach. Rick can be nervous with new people and needs slow introductions to visitors. He is improving with the resident cats but still gets the occasional urge to chase, so dog savvy cats are best. He enjoys playing with dogs he knows and trusts, and his gentle, easygoing nature shines through once he feels comfortable. Because fast movements and unpredictability can make him anxious, Rick needs a home without small children. Rick is ready to bring love, loyalty, and plenty of cozy moments to his forever family. Whoever adopts him is one lucky human. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org .
