Unfortunately, his mom is having to transition into a nursing home and can not take Freddie with her. Freddie is playful and affectionate once he warms up to new people. He loves going on car rides and behaves well in the backseat. He is an absolute angel in the house, never getting into the trash or chewing on things he shouldn't. He also doesn't beg for food during dinner and is 100% house-trained. It's also worth noting that Freddie completed an 8-week training program in Lexington with Friends for Folks and knows all basic commands, including sit, stay, lay down, come, and heel. He would thrive in a loving home where he can gain trust and give love in return.

Irwin is a sweet boy that was rescued from one of our local shelters. He was found lying in a ditch after being apparently hit by a car. He didn't have any fractures, but was pretty banged up. He is some kind of "doodle" mix. Maybe lab, poiinter, poodle? We don't really know what to call him. He is low shedding. Irwin is house traiend, and crate trained, and does well with most other dogs. He's sweet, but plays a bit too rough with small dogs, althoujgh that is improving, and he can be intimidating to some others. ,He has some basic manners, but is still learning not to snatch unattended food off the counter. He rides well in the car, and walks well on leash. Irwin is not for everyone. He is very protective of his people with strangers, and will need slow introductions to anyone interested in adopting. He would do best in a home without children or many visitors. He must have a securely fenced yard, no chain link or electric fences. Irwin loves to play with toys, and snuggle on the couch. He's very good at finding toys to chew on instead of something inappropriate. He would love to sleep with his people, but will sleep on the dog bed if you insist. All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer .
