Story
Meet Duke! Duke Elliott is 1 to 2 years old and weighs about 55 pounds. Though we aren't sure exactly what his breed is he definitely has the looks and personality of a Labrador Retriever and may have something like American Pitbull Terrier in him as well. Duke is a very loving boy and does great with humans of all sizes! Dukes favorite things are giving gentle hugs, car rides, and playing with all the toys he can get. Duke is crate trained, potty trained and walks well on a leash. Duke would love a family to go on fun adventures with! Interested in becoming a forever home for Duke Elliot? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Duke Elliot. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Duke Elliot the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our normal adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Hello, I’m Ivy! My foster mom and I are decompressing together. See I’ve been in a shelter and boarding for the last 4 months, so a new place has been a bit scary. We have been lying in bed cuddling. I like when my foster mom talks to me and tilt my head often to show I’m listening. I am 100% potty trained! I prefer big stuffed toys with squeakers, not sure what to do with any balls. I am very sweet when it’s just me with my foster mom and dad, but in public with other people, I’m still very scared, I wouldn’t hurt a fly, I just sit and shake. My foster mom takes me to work with her everyday and forces everyone to come give me treats, kisses, and hugs. Hopefully this will help with my fear of others. I love to cuddle in bed with my foster parents at night, and I make sure to leave them plenty of room. I know I’m going to be a good dog to my own family one day, someone just has to give me the chance to show them. ##1887319##

Story
Meet Honey! She is an 8 month old, 70 lbs Pointer/Pittie mix. She is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped. This little girl and her 10 littermates were born to one of our momma dogs that was confiscated due to animal cruelty. They and momma (Jazzy) are finally ready to find their forever homes and families! She has been living in a foster home with her brother and sister, Oreo and Cocoa. Her name suits her well as she is super sweet. We like to call her Honey Bunny. She isn't a fan of loud noises but loves to cuddle. She can be slow to warm up to new people but loves her family so much! She plays hard with her siblings or toys then passes right out. She likes attention and pets but isn't one to be held for very long. Honey is a big fan of her chew toys and loves a good squeaky toy! Honey is kennel and house trained. She is still young and will need a family to help her finish learning all the ropes. She is good with other dogs and has been exposed to different breed and sizes. We're unsure how she is with cats. She has been around older children and would probably be okay with younger ones as she's not prone to biting or scratching when she plays. She is very food motivated which should make training go great! She loves treats and is learning her basic commands. She and her siblings do best eating separately from each other. Sweet Honey would make a great addition to any dog-loving family and we can't wait to find the one that's meant for her! You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@yahoo.com or apply to meet/adopt her at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application!

Story
Meet Porter! He is a 2.5 year old, 75 lb tripod doggo! He is likely a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix. Porter came to our rescue as a puppy and needed a leg amputation after sustaining a bad broken leg. He recovered beautifully and was quickly adopted. He spent the last two years with his adoptive family until he was recently returned. His adoptive family reported that he had started nipping at people so we have had him working with a trainer to better understand what is going on and what Porter may need. After spending quite a lot of time with him, we're not sure what may have been driving that behavior in the home as he hasn't shown any instances of nips/bites with people since he has been with us. Porter likes to have his space and he's good about telling you he would like space. He doesn't like to be startled (but then who does?) so he may be best in a home without small children. Porter is house trained and kennel trained but he does great out and about by himself when his people are away. He knows some of his basic commands and does well on a leash. Porter is a sweet boy and likes to be near his people, whether that is near you when on the couch or on the floor by your bed. He just likes to keep you company. He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play! He would be best in a home without cats. He gets around great on three legs and handles a handful of stairs just fine! A whole flight of stairs may be difficult on him as he ages, but a few steps treats him just fine. He doesn't have any special needs and doesn't take any medications. This beautiful boy has so much to offer and will make an incredible companion! You can send inquiries to our adoption team at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Porter is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.

Story
Topaz aka Doby Meet our goofball with the amazing ears! Topaz weighs in at 55lbs and is medium in size. He loves to play but after he wears himself out he enjoys being cuddled. His talents include paw dexterity, fetching tennis balls, and sprinting. He does great in the crate when sleeping and is potty trained. We are working on leash training and its going well. He is shy and nervous around new people but opens up after he trusts you. Topaz does amazing with kids and other dogs! We believe he is a pointer cattle dog mix born near the second week of July 2023. His fun personality is sure to bring you a lifetime of laughter!  ##1819863##
