Story
Rocky is a lovable boy who lives in the moment. He is a goofy but challenging pup who pushes every limit he can! He will need a firm, patient owner who will set boundaries and consistently stand by them. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. He is a powerful puller on leash and does best with a harness. He likes car rides and is crate trained. Due to his size, it's recommended that children in the home be 10 and older. He will chase the kitties in his foster home, so a dog savvy or no kitties is best. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, Heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

Story
🐾 Pete is looking for a Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Home! 🐾 Pete / Neutered Male / 3 Years / 80 pounds / Chocolate Lab / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Untested / Kids: Yes / Location: Cambridge 📍 Pete joined us on our most recent transport from Attawapiskat, and this 3 year old chocolate Lab (mix?) is every bit the classic Labrador, happy, goofy, and full of love! This handsome boy enjoys lounging in his bed, playing with toys, tug of war with his foster sister, snuggling his humans, and of course, zooming around outside. He’s playful, affectionate, and friendly with everyone he meets. He learns quickly and is eager to please. Pete is doing wonderfully with crate training and is fully housetrained, puppies are cute and all, but there’s nothing like skipping the messy stage! He loves other dogs and would be thrilled with a canine sibling, though he’d do just fine as an only dog too. Pete would be great with kids, but keep in mind he’s a big, enthusiastic boy with a powerful tail and some serious zoomies, small children may get knocked over by all that Labrador joy! Pete is still adjusting to life as a “Southern Ontario dog” and will need a family willing to continue his training and cheer him on as he learns. 💛 Pete is currently looking for a new foster home or a foster to adopt family while he completes his vetting. If you’re ready to welcome a big hearted Lab into your life, Pete is waiting for you! 💛 Please apply if interested in foster to adopt, or DM us for more info on fostering. https://forms.gle/V1H7kzUgPdcHEX539

Story
Pongo / Neutered Male / 6 Months / Lab mix? / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 13+ / Location: East Garafraxa Meet Pongo (again!) This handsome boy was adopted earlier this year but sadly returned just a month later. Pongo is a truly special pup who needs an equally special home to match. At just 6 months old and 45 lbs, Pongo is full of energy, smarts, and heart. While we were told he might be a Border Collie/Lab mix, we aren’t entirely sure, what we do know is that he won’t get too much bigger and that he’s 100% adorable. Pongo can be nervous in new situations or around unfamiliar people, but he’s been working so hard to overcome this. He even spent several weeks with our friends at stylek9dogtraining, where he learned amazing skills that will set him up for success. His future family will continue his journey with a few follow up classes, already covered in his adoption fee, because consistency is key for this sensitive boy. What makes Pongo amazing: Walks beautifully on leash, calmly and politely (even sitting at stops!) Crate trained & fully housebroken Snuggle king who always wants to be near his people Playful, smart, and food motivated, he learns fast! Loves doggy friends, is good with cats, and would thrive with or without another dog in the home Because of his nervous nature, Pongo would do best with older, dog savvy kids. A yard to run, play, and chase squirrels would be a dream for him. To help him settle in, Pongo will even come with his special “place bed” included in his adoption fee, we want to give him every chance to succeed. Pongo is sweet, loving, and so ready for a family who will understand his past and nurture his bright future. Could that be you? https://forms.gle/gMSrMCVFqQ3fb5gN8

Scooby💙 Fostered in Hamilton 10 month old male/neutered Adoption fee $500 Lab mix Re-introducing Scooby! I’m a certified handsome Rez dog 😏 and I’m on the lookout for my forever home!🥰 I LOVE going on walks with my foster family (especially with the kiddos!), and I’m also a fan of hanging out with my doggie buddies. I don’t pull too much on walks, but I’m still perfecting my "calm and collected" walking style. Scooby is neutered, microchipped, housetrained, leash trained and up to date on his vaccines. Scooby is a sweet and eager-to-please rescue pup who’s made great strides in his journey and is still waiting his perfect forever home. This smart boy has learned to sit, shake paw, and even lay down when his hips are feeling up to it. He’s especially treat-motivated—just say “wanna treat?” and he’ll come running! 🏃🏼‍♀️ Scooby is still working on some puppy habits, like chewing, so his new family will need to keep things out of reach and continue with positive reinforcement. But he’s come a long way and shows so much potential with guidance and love 💕 If you're looking for a clever, affectionate companion who’s learning more every day, Scooby is 1000% your perfect match.
