Story
Gus has been with us since he was 1yr. My husband passed in June and I'm recovering from brain tumor removal He is a loving, sweet, playful, affectionate dog, and deserves better than what I can offer him. Sadly, I'm forced to surrender him for his own good. I have more pix, but can't figure out how to add another. I'll be glad to send more. He's a wonderful family dog, or sole owner. He loves people.

TRAVIS ON HOLD... GONE TO BOOT CAMP!! BEWARE OF DOG! HE MAY BRING TOO MUCH LOVE AND LAUGHTER! Meet Travis! It is unlikely that you will see a photo of Travis without a big smile on his face, his tongue hanging out and his ears flapping! This happy-go-lucky guy is very friendly and social. He knows how to enjoy life and he is ready to share that energy with you! Travis is about 10 to 12 months old. He still has a lot of puppy in him. Travis is looking for an active family dedicated to adventures, continued training, and of course loads of love! Travis is a really smart boy. He does need training to direct that energy. He thinks "sit" is the magic trick that gets him everything! Travis likes to play with other dogs and fetch with his people. He needs a home with a fenced back yard for playtime. Children need to be 10+. Good with other dogs and unknown with cats. Travis is crate-trained, but still working on his potty skills. Sometimes he forgets what he went outside for and he needs to be reminded. For adoption information, go to our web site www.LoneStarLabRescue.org Our adoption fee is $295.

LOUIE LOUIE (available for adoption) Meet Louie, a 1 year old, tall Labrador with a happy, playful personality. He is about 1 1/2 years old and 68 pounds.    Louie came to us very skinny, and we have been working to put some weight on him. We are pretty good at that!!!  He has a healthy appetite that fuels fetch sessions and tumble time with his doggy foster brother. He’s gaining a little at a time, whatever he does not burn off during play. Louie is neutered, vaccinated, on heartworm prevention and microchipped   Louie would love to be part of an active family. Louie gets along well with other dogs, and enjoys having both people and dogs for company. He is a big boy, and a baby at heart. His favorite things are squeaky toys, his football, treats, the water, and buddies.   Louie wants to be near the action, and does not want to miss anything. He is enthusiastic in all things, and is learning to be gentle. He is an eager learner and picks up on things quickly. He is housebroken and crate trained.   After a full day of living life to the fullest, Louie settles down easily through the night. Then he wakes ready to do it all again.  Louie will need a fenced back yard with plenty of grassy area for play time. He would really love another dog buddy about his size in his new family. He is being fostered with kids and does great with them. Due to his size and energy level, Louie would be best with kids at least 6 to 8 years old. He has not been tested with cats.    Louie wants to be your BFF, that’s Best Fetching Friend!!  If you are in the DFW area, please see our web site for information on adopting this precious boy. Our adoption fee is $295.  www.LoneStarLabRescue.org

DUKE If you are up for adventure, then Duke is the dog for you! Duke is a stunning, dark yellow Lab, about 5 years old. He always has that big smile on his face! Duke is no couch potato. Duke loves to play fetch more than anything! He would love an owner who wants to go for hikes, play a good game of ball, maybe take a trip out to the lake. He is a good boy, but would not be an appropriate match for young kids or small dogs, due to his energy level. He will need a home with a fenced yard to play and potty. Duke loves to be with people and is happy to load up in the car for a ride with you. Duke seemed to be afraid of other dogs when he first came into our program. Now he has relaxed and met some nice dogs. He has no fear of them at all anymore. All he really wants is for his person to throw that ball! Duke came to us needing quite a bit of medical care. He is now healthy, with all veterinary care complete and ready to go! Duke is housebroken and does not chew up anything that is not his. If you live in DFW and have an active lifestyle, consider meeting Duke! Our adoption fee is $295. See our web site for information at www.LoneStarLabRescue.org

Story
Tyson is a sweet, handsome, gentle guy that has had a rough time in life, but that doesn't stop him from being a complete love bug. He has attended several Humane Tomorrow events, and everyone who meets him loves him! He has the most soulful eyes. You really have to meet Tyson in person to understand his overall greatness. He is missing most of his teeth but still loves a good meal and a treat. Tyson is crate and potty trained. And, like many of us with a few years under our belt, he loves to nap the day or night away. Tyson will join his foster friends on a walk, but he takes it a leisurely pace. He definitely doesn't feel that a walk needs to be a requirement for every day's activities. Tyson gets along really well with the young lab in his foster home, but we aren't sure that he would love an overly rowdy crowd. If you are looking for a binge watching partner to curl up on the couch with, then Ty could be your guy! Tyson has heartworms because he wasn't kept on heartworm prevention. Heartworms are not contagious, and Humane Tomorrow will pay for his treatment with our partner vet. Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Hi, my name is Maggie, and I'm 3 years old and weigh 55 lbs. It's difficult to tell in my photos, but I have a beautiful, shiny black coat with auburn highlights. I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know and trust someone, I will be the most loyal and loving dog ever. I have wonderful house manners, so my foster family leaves me with run of the house when they leave. I love toys, in fact I'm a little addicted to them! I don't chew or destroy them, I just love to carry them around, kind of like a security blanket. I love to take walks, and I have great leash manners, although I do like to stop and smell a few things along the way. So many interesting smells out there! I get along with most other dogs, but I definitely do best with a more laid back dog buddy. Truth be told, I would love to be an only dog so I can get all the attention and cuddles. I also prefer a quiet, low activity home. I'm really a low maintenance dog. Just hanging out with my people and an occasional walk, and I'm good! Please submit your application to meet me, and an adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
DNA results are in! Addie is 22.4% Supermutt! No surprise there because Addie is a super mutt, and mutts are the best! The three main breeds include Shepherd, Lab and Border Collie. Addie is about 2.5 years old and weighs 40 lbs. Not too big, not too small, just right! She was a little timid at first, but after living in a great Humane Tomorrow foster home, she has has blossomed into a sweet, funny girl, and you have to be around her for awhile to truly appreciate her personality. She will need adopters who are willing to be patient with her as she settles in at her on pace. She adores the other dogs in the foster home, and she will probably do better with another companion dog in her new home. Addie has become very affectionate, but she is not a lap dog. She will sit with you on the couch or be close by. Addie loves toys, and likes to gather as many as possible into her space. She also loves meal time, chew toys and treats. Positive reinforcement training will be easy if she is rewarded with a little goodie. We are recommending a fairly quiet home since she still startles at loud noises. Kids over the age of 10 will probably be ok, as long as they know to be gentle with her. She is housebroken and crate trained. She doesn't require a crate, but she sometimes likes to go into her open door crate for a little relaxation. Addie will not do well in an apartment environment. She needs her own private yard for squirrel chasing and general exploring. Please submit your application at www.humanetomorrow.org, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.
