Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Welcome to Allie's Haven Animal Rescue sweet Hazel.   Hazel is a precious 9 year old purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever.  Sadly her owner passed away and her family kept her for a few months but could not afford to keep her so they surrendered her to a small rural shelter.  She was immediately put on the euthanasia list due to being an owner surrender and a senior dog.  She is now safe in our care.  What her foster has to say about this amazing dog.  Hazel is potty trained, crate trained but doesn't need to be crated.  She walks perfectly on leash, is very dog, cat and people friendly.  Hazel takes treats very gentle and she has shown off her bucket full of tricks.  She is healthy and very happy to just hang out with her foster family, the cats.  She just lays on the porch with them and watches the neighborhood squirrels without any reaction whatsoever.  Hazel would love a play buddy or 2 in her perfect home but can also thrive as an only dog.  She is the easy dog we have fostered.  Hazel is fully vetted, very healthy for her age and ready to find a loving home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ozzie!  He was rescued by Allie's Haven Animal Rescue as a puppy along with his siblings.  This handsome boy was adopted last year but sadly due to the owners having medical issues and they were unable to continue to care for him and surrendered him back to our rescue.  Ozzie is all things ADORABLE.  He has a scruffy beard, sad eyes, short legs and is a total love bug.  He is friendly with everyone he meets dogs and people alike.  It's a NO for cats or small furry pets for this guy as he thinks they are fun to chase and has hound dog prey drive.   Ozzie enjoys his outside time, daily walks and will help you rake leaves by playing in them.  He will also settle in on your lap for a good show on Netflix especially if it includes pet drama.  This adorable guy is potty trained, crate trained and walks great on leash.  If you are interested in making this scruffy guy a part of your family, apply to adopt Ozzie on our website www.allieshaven.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Frazer was rescued after being hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. He sat in the shelter with a 72-hour deadline. After months of weekly soft cast changes, X-rays to check his healing, treatment for tick-borne disease, and all of his basic required veterinary care, this boy is now 100% healthy and ready to find his forever home.  Frazer is perfection in the home. He knows basic commands, is excellent in his kennel, and walks well on a leash. However, he can be intimidated by the outside world. His foster mom is working with him one-on-one to get exposure training, and he is doing so much better! In fact, he recently had a fun and successful outing to the hardware store.   Frazer also loves other dogs. He is especially fond of his little Chihuahua mix foster sibling, Sophia. They can be found snuggling or napping together on the couch. Seeing how sweet and gentle he is with her is absolute cuteness.  If you don't want to miss out on adding this wonderful, playful pup to your family, apply for Frazer on the adoption page today.   He looks forward to meeting you.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Here's Trevi! She's had some bad luck in her first eight months of life. She was living in a hoarding situation in South Texas—malnourished and unloved. Then, she was hit by a car and taken to animal control. That's when her luck changed; she became an Allie's dog.   When Trevi was at animal control, she weighed 22 lbs. Now, she is 35! She is healed from her accident and is full steam ahead. She wakes up at 6:30 am and grabs her toy snake. She runs. She plays. She naps. She wakes, grabs another toy, and then runs and plays some more. At 8:30 pm, she puts herself to bed in her crate. She's a four-legged alarm clock.  This girl will guarantee you never feel lonely again. She is the most loyal companion you will ever have. If you get up to go to the fridge for ice cream, she'll make sure you have company on that journey. If you want to reach in for the pup cup in the back, she won't complain! Trevi also loves other dogs. She might be a bit slow when she meets them, but give her five minutes. With people, give her six minutes before she asks for ear scratches and belly rubs. This pup has zero anxieties about life. She's just happy to be living. Car ride? She's napping in the back until you get there. Do you need to leave her in the kennel? She uses that as another opportunity for a nap.  Trevi is sweet, intelligent, and even understands "no." She is working on her manners, but the things you can't train in a perfect companion are all there.   If your household is looking for a true gem, please apply for Trevi on our adoption page.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Do not be fooled by my handsome gray face. I may look like I am 10, but I am a very young 7 with the perfect amount of energy. I can have moments of zoomies, playing fetch, playing with my toys, chewing on bones, and playfulness followed by deep sleep, giving kisses and snuggles.  I limped around on three legs for a really long time due to a bad ACL tear, but I’ve had that repaired now and am learning to use my 4th leg again. Old habits die hard, but I am doing really well. I have been through physical therapy and home therapy, and thanks to Allie’s Haven, I will be back to normal in no time. Excuse me while I brag. I am really smart. I catch onto routines very quickly and like to “talk” to you when I need something. That’s right, I will whine or bark when I need to go outside; it is time to eat, time for a treat, or to go on a walk. When I get excited, I bark to let you know how happy I am. My foster family tells me I am one of the happiest dogs they have ever seen.   I do not like to be confined to a crate, but I do not need to be crated. I can be trusted for hours in the house by myself. I am housetrained, know several commands, and ride very well in the car. I am still working on leash manners. If I see a squirrel, you better hold tight because I am very strong.  Two of my very favorite things are kids and swimming. My foster family has a 15-year-old boy, and I love him so much. I love to walk with him, hang out with him, and swim with him. Speaking of swimming, I would love to have a pool. Not only do I love water--I’m a lab, after all--but swimming helps with my rehabilitation. I will chase cats, so it’s probably best for me to have a cat-free home. My foster family has two dogs, and I love every dog I meet.   When I was in the Fort Worth shelter, the shelter named me Huckleberry, but Allie’s Haven found out my real name is Riley, so WHEN you decide that I am the dog for you, I am Huckleberry, aka Riley. I cannot wait to find my forever family! Could that be you?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 7:51 pm

Story
My name is Mary or as some of the staff calls me Proud Mary. I am a sweet and affectionate girl, and I am about a year and a half old. I am on the hyper side and tend to get along with other dogs as long as they are males and can handle my energy. I have been at the shelter for a while and have been adopted and returned twice because of my energy levels. I do love people and will be willing to give you attention as long as you give me attention. I am not suited for sitting around laying on the couch, that would only work if we have gone on long walks and or hiking or have been playing hard for a while. I would be best for a single person or couple that is very active. I can be quite vocal if you do not give me attention, but I will be the best dog if you can accept my small faults. I am looking for my furever home. Will you be the right one for me?This animal is up to date on its shots, neutered/spayed, microchipped, heart worm negative, and up to date on its flea/tick medication. If you're interested in meeting this animal, please contact us at (972)-450-2845 or addisonanimalcontrol@addisontx.gov! Story
My name is Bovinae but you can call me Boe. I am an almost 2-year-old dog. I am a gentle giant that is looking for the right family. I can be quite energetic but can also easily tire out after a bit. But I do love to play and be around my human(s). I do get a happy tail and my whole body will shake from my tail. I love following people around and sometimes get along with other dogs. But I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. If you want a giant companion with an even bigger heart to please, then I might be the right guy for you! This animal is up to date on its shots, neutered/spayed, microchipped, heart worm negative, and up to date on its flea/tick medication. If you're interested in meeting this animal, please contact us at (972)-450-2845 or addisonanimalcontrol@addisontx.gov! Story
This handsome boy’s right legs were partially amputated when he was just a pup by someone who’s clearly on the bullet-train to hell. Technically, Charisma is special needs, but don’t tell him that! He’s active & gets around well – he can even jump into the car! He’s been dearly loved by his adoptive family for many years, but sadly, must now be rehomed. He’s healthy, crate-trained, & would do best with a small dog to keep him company. Although he prefers women to men, he has lived with a man & was devoted to him. C’mon – everyone could use a little Charisma! How about you?
