Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Available for Adoption in Texas: Mabel! Mabel is a vibrant 6-year-old, weighing in at 60 pounds. She’s not just beautiful; she’s always camera-ready, with a smile that will light up your day. If you’re looking for a photogenic pup, Mabel is your girl – she’s a total ham! With her big personality and energetic spirit, Mabel loves to be part of the action. She enjoys the company of other dogs but would prefer not to feel confined by gates or crates when they’re nearby. If you currently have a dog at home, we recommend a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone’s a good fit! While we’re not sure how she would be around cats, she hasn’t shown much interest when passing by them on walks. Mabel is eager to please, especially when there are treats involved, making her a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. She’d do best in a home with adults or families with older teens. House-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, Mabel is all set for her forever home. Story
Available for adoption in Texas and New England: Dexter! If Dexter looks familiar, it’s because he is! This handsome two-year-old, 80-pound boy was recently adopted, but through no fault of his own, he's back with us. His adopter’s change in work schedule and frequent travel just didn’t leave enough time for the active, playful life Dexter loves — and deserves. But don’t worry, Dexter is still the same sweet, ball-chasing, pond-splashing, people-loving pup everyone fell in love with! He is house-trained, crate-trained, vaccinated, neutered, and full of charm. Dexter adores kids, enjoys the company of other dogs (though he’s usually more focused on his beloved tennis ball), and walks beautifully on a leash. He’s also been around cats and done just fine! Dexter is a smart pup who’s very food-motivated, making training a breeze. He’s well-mannered and super affectionate — the kind of dog who wants to be near his people, whether that’s curled up in bed or joining you for a ride in the car. Dexter would love an active family who can keep up with his playful spirit and give him all the love, exercise, and fetch sessions his heart desires. Dexter is ready for a fresh start and a forever home filled with fun! Ready to welcome this joyful boy home? Apply to adopt Dexter at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Pepper. Pepper is ten months old and weighs about 45 pounds. This is an excellent opportunity to adopt a pup who is out of that challenging young puppy phase and already housebroken and crate-trained! She is an absolutely stunning pup! She is a feisty and energetic girl who loves to run and play. She loves having other dog friends to play with. She is still working on leash training. Pepper loves to climb halfway on your lap for affection. She would do best in a household with older children (likely eight years and above) as she exudes that incredible Lab-like energy we all know and love so much. Pepper does like to play, um, she calls it, "chase" with the cats in her foster home, which they do not appreciate. So, her future home should be cat-free. Pepper is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Apply for Pepper at http://www.luckylabrescue.com
