Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, black and white girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Mocha is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply now at www.luckylabrescue.com!

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Mabel and her teddy bear. Mabel loves carrying around her teddy bear -- hoping one day she and her stuffed animal will find a loving family. Beautiful Mabel is about three-years-old and weighs 60 pounds. When she's not carrying around her toy, she can be found smiling for pictures. Look at that big grin. It's like she's posing. Mabel is clearly a ham. If you adopt her, at least someone in your family will happily pose for pictures. Mabel has a big personality and lots of energy. She does OK with other dogs but prefers not to be in a place she feels stuck behind a gate or crate when another dog is present. We'd recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog. We aren't exactly sure how she would do with a cat in her home. She's walked by some and has not really reacted. Mable would thrive doing more positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. We recommend a home with adults or adults and older teenage kids. She is housebroken, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Please help Mabel get a home! Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal. He's housebroken, vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Kashew. Meet Kash, the cutest puppy ever! Cash is about nine months old and weighs over 53 pounds so far, he's still filling out and growing. His hobbies include sniffing the air, hunting bugs, and watching airplanes go by. He loves playing fetch and gets better and better at bringing the ball back every day. He loves being outside and chewing on his chew toys. High-fives are his signature move. Cash is a medium-energy puppy who is down to play or relax, whichever the situation calls for. He’s learning how to walk on a leash and really loves being out and about walking, and it’s easy for him to learn. Kash can learn any trick, especially if there are treats involved. He has been living with a 12-year-old and 9-year-old human foster brothers and has been spotted enjoying their trampoline. He regularly goes to the bathroom outside, but he has to be let out frequently since he’s still working on giving the signal to go potty. He’s a great sleeper and sleeps all night long in his crate with the door open. When his foster family is out, he stays in his crate with a chew toy. Kash cannot wait to give his new family a high-five! Kash is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and crate-trained. If you would like to make sweet Kash a part of your family, apply at luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Rufus. Rufus is about a year old and currently weighs 56 pounds. However, after he gains some more weight and fills out, he will likely be about 80 pounds. Why so skinny? It's hard to believe, but Rufus was likely dumped. He was picked up as a stray with some other dogs. He looked sooooo sad and skinny. He was so sad when he first went to his foster home. Then, soon, Rufus learned to have fun! He started playing with the other spunky female dogs in his foster home, started warming up to his awesome foster mom and soon enough, jumped in the pool and swam with his doggie pals. We've seen a huge change in his behavior, and we're thrilled. Now that he's getting regular meals, care, and lots of love, he should start packing on some pounds. Rufus is just a good ole boy. He has a calm personality and loves to play with his toys. However, he does like to chew on anything, including shoes. He prefers Crocs. He likes to swim and will chase a pool Polaris for as long as you will let him. He does well with other dogs and gets along with cats. He is a “leaner” so any kiddos will need to be a bit older and steady on their feet. Rufus is housebroken and will go in a crate, but he prefers to sleep the night away on a dog bed. He likes to be wherever people are and loves to snuggle and watch baseball, preferably the Texas Rangers. He does not like crates. Right now, his foster mom leaves him in a bedroom with another dog when she leaves, and he does fine. Poor Rufus is not a fan of getting in the car. His foster mom had to carry him out of the animal hospital after he was neutered. We're hoping that with some positive reinforcement training, Rufus can learn to like car rides. With some more TLC, we think he will be an amazing dog! He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Apply to adopt this beautiful boy at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
4mth old neutered male lab mix. It’s hard to get a good picture of Mako – he is a busy boy. He is either sleeping or going 90MPH! He loves to play with other dogs – larger may be better, he’s kind of a stout boy. He knows sit, walks with harness, learning “no” and sit, house broke, knows doggie door. Also, crate trained. Mako is a happy go lucky guy – he LOVES his people. He is always so happy to see you! If you’re on the couch he is right there with you, he always has to be touching you. He’s the perfect Velcro dog. Adoption fee is $300.00 it includes the neuter, first year of vaccines, microchip, and deworming

Story
I'm a 6 mth old male lab mix puppy. I was found by the animal shelter with a broken leg that was literally just flopping around not even connected anymore, and I was extremely skinny and malnourished. Highway Hounds took me to the vet and they said that with the extent of my injuries that I must have been beaten with a bat. At that point we thought for sure that we would have to amputate my leg. But I'm a fighter. And I pulled through. And with all 4 legs! But even through all this I'm still the sweetest boy. Love to snuggle. I get along with dogs, cats, and kids. I'm crate trained, potty trained and knows the dog door. I'm ready for my forever home

Story
Hello, my name is Bella. I am not sure what I am except that I am part Lab. I am white with tan ears. I am 8 years old. Even though I may be old in dog years I am still very active and I don't get to go on walks because I am strong. I don't like big noises like thunder or fireworks. I like to play with other dogs and kids. I am very gentle around kids. I wish I knew how to hunt cause I chase everything. I need a fenced in yard so I can have lots of time outside running around. I need a new home and I am looking forward to joining your family!
