Story
Meet Willow! Willow is a 50-pound, 3-year-old, yellow lab mix who is now available for adoption in Texas! She is the perfect mix of sweet, gentle, and playful. She has been living with her foster family, including 2 dogs and 3 cats. She is completely respectful of the cats and loves her foster doggie friends. Willow is a total couch potato. While she still enjoys a relaxing walk, she is perfectly content to spend her Saturday morning napping in the living room or stalking squirrels in the backyard. She could spend her whole day perfectly content in a comfy dog bed with a good bone to chew. She can likely fit into any home that allows her to take her time to get to know one another. She'd likely do better in a quieter home with other animals. When she first arrived at her foster home, she was nervous at first being home alone, but has grown tremendously. Willow is house-trained. She has never had a single accident in her entire stay with her foster family. She is crate-trained and settles well in her crate. She can be nervous in new places, but adapts well when given patience and love. She is a very quiet dog and rarely barks. Willow is also extremely food-motivated. Her motivation, combined with her desire to please, makes for the perfect storm for a trainable dog. Willow is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. She is the sweetest girl looking for a loving home. She has so much love to give! Please apply to adopt Willow in Texas at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Meet Gunner ❤️ He is up for adoption in Texas. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, love you unconditionally, and remind you every day that life is pretty great, meet Gunner! Gunner is a beautiful 2 to 3-year-old Black Lab mix who weighs about 60 lbs. But what really makes Gunner special is his incredible spirit. Before coming to Lucky Lab, Gunner was involved in an accident. The shelter told us he was kicked by a horse, our veterinarian thinks he was likely hit by a car. He lost several teeth on the right side of his mouth and suffered significant damage to one of his hips. After being evaluated by some of the best orthopedic veterinarians in the Austin area, they determined that surgery would not be appropriate for him, we even looked into getting him a hip replacement, but he was not a candidate. Gunner walks with a slight limp, but his vets do not believe he is in pain, it doesn't slow him down, and Gunner certainly doesn't act like a dog who thinks he's been dealt a bad hand! Click here for a video of Gunner walking and running. Here is the link just in case: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1DWR96va96/ He runs around the backyard, goes swimming, plays tug-of-war with his dog friends, and absolutely loves life. His missing teeth give him a hilarious little quirk: when he gets hot or excited, his tongue hangs out the right side of his mouth, creating the goofiest, sweetest smile. 😍 Gunner loves people. In fact, he doesn't believe there are strangers in this world — only friends he hasn't met yet. ❤️ He absolutely melts when he's being pet. He'll sit at your feet, lean straight back, point his nose up toward you, and sometimes lean so far that he topples right over. He is, in every sense of the word, a total goober. He's also a professional upside-down sleeper and has a serious appreciation for a good donut bed. 😂 Gunner can be a little timid when meeting new dogs, but once he gains confidence, his playful side comes out. One of his favorite games is tug-of-war with his foster siblings, and despite missing his canines on one side, he's surprisingly good at it! One area where Gunner could use some continued work is leash manners. He gets very excited when he's out on a leash and can pull, so his forever family will need to be patient and continue helping him practice. (See what we mean, his bad hip does not slow him down, he's ready to go!) Gunner is perfection for the right person or family. He's not going to be someone's marathon training running companion, but he is your typical Lab. If you're looking for a sweet, trusting, goofy, resilient, loving dog who will give you his whole heart — Gunner might be exactly who you've been waiting for. His hip may have changed the way he walks, but they haven't changed his joy for life one bit. Gunner is ready for a forever family who will love his crooked smile, his goofy personality, his big heart, and all of his perfectly imperfect quirks. Gunner is ready to find his forever home. 🐾❤️ Who wants to meet this amazing boy? He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, housebroken and crate trained. Apply at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Available for adoption in Texas: Collins! At just one year old and about 60 pounds, Collins is the perfect blend of youthful energy and snuggles. Collins firmly believes the best seat in the house is whichever one is closest to you. Preferably touching you. Just to be safe. This beautiful girl with the biggest, most soulful eyes bonds deeply with her humans. Once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life. She follows her foster like a devoted little shadow and is convinced that every task is better when done as a team. Cooking dinner? Together. Folding laundry? Together. Sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing? Especially together. In Collins’ world, personal space is more of a suggestion. She can be shy when meeting new people and appreciates slow, gentle introductions. But once she feels safe, she melts. Truly melts. She’ll lean into you like she’s been yours forever. Collins takes her role as “loyal sidekick” very seriously. Batman had Robin. You’ll have Collins. She is currently building confidence during life’s solo moments, like when her people leave the house. Because she bonds so deeply, being alone hasn’t always been her favorite thing. The good news? She’s making wonderful progress with structure, consistency, and medication support. We’re already seeing her grow braver. She will need a patient, understanding home, committed to continuing that journey and cheering her on. Collins would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not and where she has a confident canine sibling. Another dog isn’t just a bonus for her; it’s truly important. She gains comfort and confidence from having a dog friend to follow and learn from. She loves other dogs and does well with cats, too! And if she wasn’t cute enough already, Collins knows some Spanish! Bilingual queen energy. She’s looking for a calm, stable home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. In return, you’ll get unwavering devotion, endless snuggles, and a best friend who thinks you are the greatest thing that has ever happened. Collins is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped, and officially ready to start her next chapter with her forever family. If you’ve been searching for a loyal little shadow with soulful eyes and an even bigger heart, Collins is waiting! Apply to adopt at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Reggie has made steady progress in foster care and continues to build confidence as he adjusts to life in a home. He is fully house-trained, crate-trained, quiet in the home, and settles well after activity. Foster describes him as calm, curious, and affectionate, noting that while he is still learning how to fully relax indoors, he clearly enjoys staying close to his people and is becoming a `Velcro dog.` He walks exceptionally well on leash without pulling, has shown no resource guarding or concerning behaviors, and has not displayed any aggression in the foster home. Reggie is still learning basic commands and can be timid in new situations, with loud noises and unfamiliar places making him a little nervous. Foster reports that his playful, goofy personality is beginning to emerge as he becomes more comfortable and secure.
