Meet Tank !! This handsome younger guy is a very sweet boy. Eager to please and looking for another best friend to devote all of his time to. He is young but almost fully trained and willing to learn new things. Tank belonged to our founders neighbor. He passed away suddenly and the family asked us to help tank find a new home. Tank was only with his owner for a few months but he brought him so much joy and happiness. Since arriving here he has been adapting quickly and has been a loving happy boy. He is an approx 1 year old and male. He was said to be a Lab/Pit mix but his build and look favor more of a Pit/Hound mix but it’s just a guess. He weighs 58 pounds and is close to full grown. Tank will be vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and given a microchip as part of his adoption. He is on monthly preventatives. He has been very well behaved since we took him in. He was so good at the vet and let them do all the vaccines and blood draws without any issues. He is loving and happy to meet everyone. He can be a touch shy at first but that fades quickly. He loves to just be near you. Tank has been working on all of his house manners. He is learning quickly. He has done fairly well on the leash despite not doing much leash walking before. He is fairly gentle with the leash only pulling if he wants to smell something or gets excited. He is great on car rides but is a bit afraid getting in. He was never crated before but picked it up fast. He is quiet and content in the kennel. With a few days of practice he goes straight into his crate when he comes inside. (he expects a treat for his efforts lol) He seems to be mostly potty trained and does not have any accidents in his crate. He is, however, still marking his territory a lot outside. So far he has not tried that inside but that needs to be watched for a few days in a new place. He adjusts well to new places and routines and picks things up quickly when shown what you want from him. He is eager to please. Tank loves all the dogs he has met so far. He seems to be good at playing with the playful ones and leaving the others alone. He has met dogs of all sizes including other unfixed males and has had no issues with any of them. He loves to run around the yard being chased, or chasing another dog. He has never been around cats so we have no idea how he would do. He is not fostered with young kids but we think he would likely do fine with them. He has a very laid back sweet demeanor. He met a 13yr old at the vet and was wonderful with her. He does occasionally try to jump up on you. It is not usually hard but more of a hug type of jumping. That may scare or knock over little ones. He has been doing a lot less of that with corrections, and it is not a major or constant thing for him. Mostly when excited. So far he has a medium energy level. He will need playtime and both mental and physical exercise every day but also has a very chill and cuddly side afterward. He is fine to go run the yard with other dogs a few times a day to get his exercise. He also has no trouble spending a full work day kenneled as long as you give him some playtime and interaction after work. He does think he’s a lap dog at times and will climb right up on you to get loved on. Generally he will just lay on the floor near you or in a dog bed when nothing is going on. We do not feed dogs together to avoid issues however Tank has not shown any issues with his food. He has had dogs near and around his kennel when he is eating without a reaction. He has no trouble sharing toys and treats around other dogs. He takes treats very gently. He’s fine with people around his food, toys and treats. Tank seems to be a very sweet, loving boy that is happy and loyal. He needs just a bit of refinement on a few house manners but overall he is learning quickly and easy to manage. With every goodbye you learn.Two amazing, loving people had to say goodbye to Tilly (aka Matilda) and bring her back to us. They had taken her home as a foster-to-adopt and gone above and beyond to make it work with their two cats. Sadly, that was not to be.They got Tilly through her first of three heartworm treatments and helped her settle into home life. They learned her likes and dislikes and appreciated Tilly for the amazing girl that she is. They realized she didn't really respond to Matilda, but Tilly made her light up.We now also know that she loves to be sung to and can endlessly look at herself in the mirror. She continues to cross her front paws when laying down, which makes every heart melt. And she came back to us with an army of stuffed toys - all with the squeakers taken out because they scare her - and, most importantly, her very own Squishmallow.When I went to give Tilly her lunch today, she was curled up on her bed in her room, enjoying the A/C and surrounded by her stuffed friends. You almost couldn't see her because she was lying under her Squishmallow, but then her sweet head popped up.Tilly is 8-years-old and heartworm positive but nearing the end of her treatment, which is fully covered by AAS. And, wow, this girl has so much love to give, just not to cats or other dogs.We are beyond sad that Tilly doesn't enjoy cats and could not stay with two people who love her dearly. But, we are so grateful for all the new information we have about this extraordinary girl. Please come meet our Tilly - she is a sight to behold and will fully embrace you with love. They also say I’m 12, but my foster thinks I’m closer to 10. Either way, I’m old enough to know what I like — and what I don’t. Let’s get this straight: I’m a grump. Not in a “mean” way — more in a “I have boundaries and I enforce them” way. I need slow introductions and downtime to decompress. If you rush me, I’ll give you the look. If you touch my butt without permission (looking at you, Kevin), I might remind you that I’m not a fan of surprise contact. My Ideal Life No kids. I don’t do chaos or sticky fingers. Dogs? Hi there, I'm Boo, a sweet and fluffy mixed breed (maybe Jack Russel Terrier and lab mix) with white fur and tan spots. I'm about 5 years old and weigh 55 pounds. I'm looking for a loving and caring family who can give me a forever home. I would do well with children, but I recommend older kids because of my size and energy level. I have grown a community of love and support around me. One of my favorite things to do is to visit my friends at the pet store who practice my training (sit, paw, etc.) with me and give me yummy treats! I'm a happy boy who loves to play with other dogs all the time. I have not been cat-tested but can be if you’d like. I love toys and bringing them outside in the yard to play with. I do like to bury some of my toys too. If you look closely at my photos, you may notice that my front left foot is oddly bent. The vet thinks it was broken and simply healed this way. It doesn’t hurt me or slow me down at all. As you can see from my videos, I still have a great time playing. There really isn’t any need to do anything about it. I just wanted to let you know why my “high five” looks more like a sly five. I absolutely adore Zoomies, splashing around in my swimming pool, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs. There's nothing better than a good romp around followed by some quality couch-potato time. I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. I'm also potty and crate trained. I'm currently being fostered in Clemmons, NC, but can be transported to other states for my perfect match family.
