Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST***Lexi is not an Animal Aid dog. Please contact her owner with questions/to schedule a meeting: lexidog16@yahoo.comLexi is a sweet 8 year old black lab mix. She enjoys walks, snuggles, and treats. She has been with the same owners since she was 7 weeks old. Lexi is currently looking for a new home that does not have young children or other pets, as they make her anxious.Lexi is a sweet girl who enjoys her space away from young kids. She has taken beautifully to training. Part of that training is to help her politely avoid and ignore kids when she is uncomfortable around them (which is usually the case). She knows how to be a good girl around dogs and pets, but she would do best if she did not have to live with them. Please email lexidog16@yahoo.com for more information or to schedule a meeting.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
After a rousing game of tug, which I'm 90% certain Ryder let me win (I was breathing hard and I think he felt bad for me), we sat on a bench and cuddled. He has an addictively fuzzy belly, and he makes the most awesome snorting sounds when you rub it! That was the moment I fell in love with Ryder, and promised him we'd find an awesome person or family for him to go home with. PLEASE don't make me a liar!Ryder is a compact, stocky 45-pounds with an adorable mush-mouth and gorgeous golden eyes (no doubt to match his heart of gold). This 2-year-old Black Lab mix was surrendered by the family he had lived with his entire life. They were moving and decided to leave him behind. In the home, Ryder was a fabulous companion with excellent manners, housebroken, and terrific with the young human child and infant he grew up with. He also loves playing with other dogs!Ryder is an awesome little dude -- fun and affectionate, goofy with toys but totally serious about kissing your nose. He's confused about why he's here -- he's a good boy, and doesn't know what went wrong. Please come and make things right for him again!Animal Aid is open every day from 9am to noon, including weekends and holidays. No appointment necessary.Interested? Story
Are you looking for an an easy going dog? - Oprah is your girl! She just wants to play, cuddle and eat. She sleeps on her bed next to our bed. She is house trained, crate trained and really enjoys being outside. We haven't had much of a need to crate her because she is not destructive so usually she just roams around the house. She does LOVE food so sometimes we will put her in her crate while we eat. She loves to play with the ball and you wouldn't know she is 10 since she has so much energy and she just can't get enough ????. She will keep bringing you her ball until you tell her it is enough. We have some prior engagements for which we have to bring her back to the shelter on 4/1. We really hope she will have found her forever home by then or at least a temporary other foster until she can come back to us. She is too old and too sweet to spend her days at the shelter. We know there is someone out there who needs this wonderful companion. If not able to adopt let us know if you could foster her 4/1-4/7 and 4/20-5/12.***Due to Opawra's age, we don't think that she would do well in a home with small children, but older children who know how to behave around dogs would be just fine. She is SUPER housebroken, walks VERY well on a leash and she would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a calm, but active older pup. She could do fine in an apartment, townhome or a house; she isn't picky!***

Story
"All the single ladies, all the single ladies, put your hands up..." for me! I'm Zelda. While I'm not Queen Bee, I am certainly Queen Zee. I really prefer the company of the single ladies. And I have so much love to give. I love my belly rubs and chin scratches. You can tell me all about your exes and bad dates and I promise to never spill the tea. I love going outside for walks and I'm super great to walk on the leash. I know my basic commands and I have an awesome recall meaning I'll come running right back to you.My foster mom has also shown me how great the crate is. She lured me in with some peanut butter and a cozy orthopedic crate pad that was fit for the Queen that I am. And now I'm all about the crate life. It's like my own little castle. Speaking of castle... I'd prefer to have the castle all to myself. I haven't really enjoyed the company of men (had a few bad dates myself so I can relate). Small children disturb my zen as do female dogs. So have I convinced you that I'm royalty? If so, pop on over to PRAS and put a ring (or collar) on it so we can seal the deal.
