Story
Meet Nash - King of the Cute Situp!Nash is a mellow, easygoing pup with a whole lot of charm packed into one super-cute package. He has a calm, relaxed vibe and enjoys taking life at a comfortable pace—especially when it includes a nice walk or time spent with people he loves. One of Nash’s favorite hobbies is politely begging for treats. He’ll sit up and strike his cutest pose, clearly hoping you’ll notice how adorable he is (spoiler: you will). He’s especially fond of softer treats, which instantly earn his loyalty and a happy wag.Nash walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out and about, but he’s just as happy hanging out and soaking up attention. He’s people-friendly and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm dog who will never say no to a treat. If you’re searching for a laid-back best friend who knows how to work the room for treats, Nash might just be your perfect match!

Rabies expires 11/11/2027 and just received his annuals on 2/15/2026 and clean bill of health with seasonal allergies gets eye boogers they just have to be wiped with a wipey. Friendly good with kids honestly he ignores them. But loves snuggles. Does well with other animals but He is mainly an indoor dog and doesn’t socialize with other animals often. Jumps when excited, kennel trained, wont bolt off if he wonders a little call his name he comes back and he loves to sunbathe. Kennel, food, leash, outdoor dog house, dog bed all goes with him. Hurts to say goodbye but moving coast to coast and found out we can’t take him. Want to be able to find a great new loving home that can provide the attention and affection he needs.

Story
Meet Delta, a 3-year-old Lab mix with a playful spirit and a big heart. She is deaf but already knows a few hand signals and does great with clear, consistent communication. Because she can`t hear someone approaching, kids can be a bit iffy for her, and dog meet-and-greets are important since compatibility depends on mutual comfort. Delta is leash trained and absolutely loves playing tug. With the right home and patient guidance, she`ll make a loyal and fun-loving companion.

Story
Tanner is a senior Retriever mix with a gentle way about him. He moves slowly and deliberately, except for his tail, which seems determined to express every positive emotion he’s ever had. There’s a softness in his face and a warmth in his golden eyes that hint at both what he’s been through and what he’s still hoping for. When Tanner came to us after his person passed away, he was in rough shape. Thin, exhausted, and so anemic from fleas, even a bath would have overwhelmed his system. Those first days, he spent most of his time curled up in his little apartment, watching us with the weary caution of a dog who wasn’t sure what came next.So we kept things simple. Good food. Supplements. Soft beds. A lot of calm, no-pressure kindness. Slowly he realized the world wasn’t trying to knock him down anymore. His coat brightened. His energy returned. And one day he walked outside with surprising confidence, tail spinning like it had been waiting for its moment to shine. These days he enjoys the basics: a quiet walk, a soft place to nap, and anyone willing to offer a slow back scratch. He leans in with his full weight, which is flattering right up until you remember how solid fifty pounds can be. Pull out a cookie and he looks like a child seeing magic for the first time.Tanner isn’t dramatic, and he isn’t trying to reinvent himself. He’s simply a sweet, steady, grateful dog who appreciates the small, good things. If you like peaceful mornings, soft snoring, and a companion whose loyalty arrives without fanfare, you’ll understand him immediately.TANNER IS IN FOSTER -- PLEASE CALL THE SHELTER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HIM!Interested? Story
Charlotte is five-years-old, sleek and shiny. She was adopted from us in 2022 and returned through no fault of her own. Her person made a brave decision to leave a volatile domestic situation and brought both dogs to safety. Afterward came another loving, impossible choice. Charlotte is still young, active, eager for engagement, and she needed more time and energy than were available. The other dog, older and a devoted champion of extended naps, fit the new life more comfortably. So Charlotte came back. But she came back with the good stuff. She knows how to live in a home. She understands routines. And she has a deep, unwavering belief that if you are somewhere, she should probably be there too. Not in a pushy way - in a we-are-a-team way. Movement in any direction is, to her, a group activity.Yesterday I went out to visit her and she faced a small crisis of priorities. She wanted to play. She wanted to cuddle. Lesser minds would have picked one. Charlotte attempted both simultaneously. She rolled onto her back in the grass, hind end wiggling with absolute glee, while trying earnestly to lever herself upward for kisses: Party on one end, devotion on the other. It was ridiculous and wholehearted and completely wonderful. Here is the truest thing about her: she refuses to let a hard turn in her story turn her hard. She is soft, affectionate, hopeful, and ready to attach herself to the next chapter with enthusiasm.Charlotte is healthy, house-experienced, and would thrive with a person or family who enjoys an involved, playful, deeply loving companion. If you like being followed, consulted, and adored, she is very prepared for the position.Animal Aid Society is located at 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton. Visiting hours are 9am to noon, weekends and holidays included.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm.
