Story
Meet Ivy! This gorgeous girl is around 1-2 years old. We are unsure what she is mixed with, but we are guessing she has some husky in her due to her antics. She is such a sweet girl and SUPER energetic. She would love a family that goes to the lake, river or has a pool, she is a MAJOR water dog. She is looking for a super active family that can take her on long walks and plenty of adventures. She has done well with dogs she has met here but meet and greets are required. She would do well with children as long as she does get her energy out just due to the jumping around as she can be a wrecking ball at times. If interested in Ivy, the shelter is open Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm pending on if staff is in the building. You can also call the shelter at 804-520-9397 ext. 5 to set up an appointment!

Story
Meet Reggie, a sweet and playful tan Labrador mix around 6–8 months old. Reggie was found as a stray alongside his buddy Regis, and we believe they’ve grown up together. While they’re a great pair, Reggie is more than ready to shine on his own. This goofy guy is full of love and energy. He’s affectionate, social, and always up for some fun—whether it’s chasing toys, wrestling with a friend, or snuggling up for a nap. Reggie is still a young pup, so he’ll thrive with continued guidance and structure as he learns the ropes of home life. He’s looking for a family who’s ready for a loyal companion with a playful spirit and a heart of gold. If you’re ready to welcome a young dog who will keep you smiling, Reggie might be your perfect match. To learn more or schedule a meet and greet, email us at adoptpetersburg@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Lacey – A Sweet Soul Ready to Heal Lacey is a gentle, affectionate girl who’s been through more than her fair share—but she’s still holding onto hope. Thought to be a Lab-hound (or possibly Lab-beagle) mix, this petite sweetheart weighs around 38–40 pounds. While her current condition makes it hard to know her exact breed mix, one thing is clear: she’s full of love. Lacey is currently being treated for demodex mange and a yeast infection, and her vet-prescribed medications will go with her to continue care. She doesn’t require immediate bathing, just a calm, safe place where she can rest and heal. Despite her physical state, Lacey’s sweet spirit shines through. She’s gentle, quiet, and easy to be around—grateful for every bit of kindness she’s shown. What Lacey needs most now is a soft place to land, a home or rescue where she can finally feel safe and begin her journey back to health. She deserves a second chance—and someone to show her how good life can be. If you can help Lacey start her new chapter, please email adoptpetersburg@gmail.com. She’s waiting.

Story
Meet Deuce – The Life of the Party with a Cuddle-Loving Heart! Deuce is a fun-loving, affectionate Lab mix who will celebrate his 3rd birthday this August—and he’s hoping to do it in a forever home! Weighing around 50 lbs, Deuce is the perfect medium-sized companion for a family who’s ready to match his energy and soak up his love. This playful guy is great with kids (he currently lives with twin five-year-olds) and is wonderfully social with other dogs, including small ones—he even gets along with the resident Chihuahua! Deuce knows his basic commands—sit, lay down, and paw—and is always ready to show off for treats and praise. He’s high-energy when outside and would absolutely love a fenced yard where he can run, explore, and burn off steam. Once he’s had his zoomies, he’s all about the snuggles and becomes a total cuddle bug indoors. If you’re looking for a loyal, happy-go-lucky pup who’s great with kids, good with dogs, and already knows some manners, Deuce might be your perfect match!
