Meet Jake! Jake is a 7 year old male who recently had quite a change in his world, and his original family is hoping to find him a loving home. One of Jake's owners passed away not long ago, and the other member of the family works long hours and leaves Jake alone for long periods of time. They attempted to re-home him, but unfortunately after just 5 days, the family they trusted to take care of him ended up dumping him. They took him to a stranger's driveway, left him there with food, and took off in the middle of the night leaving him scared and confused. Luckily, he remained safe until he was brought to our shelter. His original family was devastated to find out that Jake was betrayed in this manner, and asked us to help them in finding him a new family who would never even consider something like this. Here is what his family said: DOB 7/4/2018 Jake is happy typical high energy 7 year old intact male Chocolate lab. He has been an outdoors dog all his life therefore he is not house trained. He walks nicely on a leash and knows basic sit and stay commands. He loves to dig and chew things. He is generally a quiet dog but will bark if a vehicle pulls up. Meet Celina! Celina is approximately 1 year old and is thought to be a Labrador Retriever (possibly mixed) Celina has a very sweet & submissive temperament so far with us, and has been calm while walking on leash. We're still learning about her a little bit every day, but we think she'll do well with children & other pets as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. She can be shy at first, so her adult owners should make sure that children are respectful. She appears to be potty trained as she keeps her kennel clean, but we would recommend a refresher course so that she can adjust to the new potty schedule. While she's got a moderate energy level now, it's possible that it could increase as she settles in and gains confidence, so her family should be willing to give her daily exercise along with lots of cuddles! Bridget is a spunky ball of energy that is the perfect medium sized dog . She is a happy puppy with lots of love to give. She is very playful and would do best in a house with another dog for a playmate and one that likes to rough house with her. She also does well with the cats, but will try to play with them, however she is easily redirected to leave them alone. She would also do best with an active family or some kids to run around with as she does have quite a bit of energy to burn and is a typical rambunctious puppy. She is working on manners as she does like to jump a lot. She does however settle down nicely in the house during quiet time. She loves to curl up on the couch with a bone or toy to chew on. She makes some noise when she first goes in her kennel but quickly settles down and will sleep all night before having to go out in the morning. Shes very smart and learns quickly with positive reinforcement as she loves to please. Treats are the way to her heart and she'll do about anything to get one. She is housebroke, but doesn't really alert you that she has to go out. She will prance around or do a "potty dance" and if you don't catch it she will occasionally still have an accident. She does best with a routine and being let out on a schedule. You cant go wrong with Bridget and she will make the family who adopts her very happy.
