Story
This Ruby is truly a gem! Ruby is a 6 year old Lhasa Apso/terrier mix, and she is a sweet, happy little girl with a big personality! Rescued from a family who spent little time with her, Ruby's next family should have the time to give her lots of attention and TLC. She is energetic and enjoys taking walks and playing with her toys. After that, she's happy to settle down for pets and belly rubs. Ruby does have a Lhasa/terrier attitude and will need an owner who is familiar with handling and working with a dog that can be reactive to other dogs on and off leash. Ruby is a great pup who is waiting for her new family...could that be you? Dog savvy teenage children may be considered. I will consider potential adopters within a 2 hour drive from Connecticut. Please know that I do not ship my rescue dogs. Thank you!

Story
A new classic duo has entered the villa this summer and their names are Teddie and Marty! Teddie (4 year olds) and Marty (6 months old) are a duo of Lhasa Apso mixes who each weigh about 10 pounds. While they had a rough start to life, this pair is ready to enter their lover boy era. These boys are shy and enjoy each other's company but in the short time with us they have already begun to come out of their shells. They enjoy long walks and are even getting better at being on leash! And if they get too hot they don't mind being carried like the princes they are. As they continue to come out of their shell they are looking for a patient adopter who can help them shine! Although Marty only has one eye (one was removed surgically for medical reasons) we can see they have bright futures ahead! If you have any questions about Teddie and Marty you can email their adoption counselor at isabel.giovacchini@gmail.com AND fill ouy an application at www.poainc.org .

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sayde! Sayde is a very sweet, happy, and playful girl who's ready to find a family of her own! She spent several weeks running the streets before she was finally brought to safety. Despite efforts to find her owners, no one ever came forward, so now she's looking forward to a fresh start. Sayde has a fun-loving personality and isn't shy about showing her excitement—expect a few happy barks and jumps when she sees you! She gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine friend to play with. She does have a rough-and-tumble play style and may occasionally try to show she's the boss, so slow introductions and canine companions who appreciate an active playmate would be ideal. We're not completely sure if she's potty trained yet, but with consistency and patience, she should settle into a routine. Sayde is active, playful, and would do best in a home where she gets plenty of exercise, playtime, and companionship. She isn't a dog who enjoys being left home alone for long hours and will thrive with a family that includes her in everyday life. Because of her breed, Sayde will also need regular grooming to keep her coat looking and feeling its best. Sayde is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, 4DX negative, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. Her adoption fee is $400. She is currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. We are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations. Story
Adopt Moose! 🐾 Moose is an adorable 2yr old Shih Tzu mix. He's a sweet, happy little guy with a heart that's ready for a fresh start. Although his past wasn't kind to him, he's looking ahead to a future filled with love, patience, and security. When Moose was found abandoned, his coat was so severely matted it was tangled tightly against his skin. It was heartbreaking to see the neglect he had endured, but despite everything, Moose hasn't let his past define him. He has a gentle spirit and is ready to trust the right family. Moose enjoys meeting new people and gets along well with other dogs and cats. While he'd be happy to have a canine companion, he'd also thrive as your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention. He's potty trained, loves his daily walks, and rarely passes up the chance to carry around a squeaky toy. Moose is incredibly food motivated, making him eager to learn, and he's already mastering commands like "sit." At the end of the day, his favorite place is curled up beside you on the couch, enjoying all the snuggles he can get. Because of the neglect he experienced, Moose can occasionally be sensitive to touch if he's startled or feeling unsure. He is looking for a patient, experienced, adult-only home that understands he may need a little extra time to build confidence and continue learning that he's finally safe. If you're ready to give this deserving little guy the second chance he's been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you! Apply to adopt Moose at: www.pprct.org
