Hi there! I am a pretty little Lhasa Apso/Terrier mix named Hazel. I am about 6 years old, weigh 13.2 lbs, and my left eye was surgically removed at some point in my past. I was found with my little doggy friend Hope when we were both hiding underneath a car alongside a busy highway on a 100-degree day in San Antonio, Texas. We were terrified, overheated, and panting frantically when a lady called us over. Hope went right to her, but I was wary about her intentions and ended up following Hope into a nearby office building. Turns out that was the smartest decision we made all day, since that nice lady is now our foster mom and we have been safe and happy ever since! I am a sweet, calm, gentle lady who wants to love you, but I'll be shy at first and need time to build trust and know I’m safe. Initially, I respond best to gentle actions and baby talk, but once I love you, it’s forever! I am friendly with dogs and cats, but I’m not the playmate type, and they should be calm if we are to be housemates. Too much activity, barking, and chaos is stressful. I am basically a very easygoing, low-key lovergirl who enjoys walks to the park, road trips, snuggling beside you or in your lap, and sharing kisses. Sometimes just lying down where you were last sitting is comforting and makes me happy. I am well-behaved, housebroken, know how to use a doggy door, and only bark if I need to alert you. Inquire about me today. * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Let's not forget the cutest husband and wife duo... we pulled them from the shelter with their 3 beautiful baby girls. Thanks to their awesome foster mom, they survived pneumonia and are all doing well now.  Papa and Mama Coco were terrific parents, but now it's their turn to enjoy life as a loving couple with a loving forever family.. Papa is about 4 and Mama Coco is about 7. I'm thinking Lhasa mixes. They really love each other, and are very bonded. They love to play with toys , snuggle, but most of all love to be held and petted.  Mama is shy, papa is playful.  They are very loving once they trust you, but can be nippy with strangers and when there is a lot going on around them they get very stressed. Also Typical to the breed, they are very protective of the people they love. They'd be happiest as only pups. They are fun and loving. Augie, 7 years old, approximately 18 lbs.  Augie is slowly coming around after being surrendered to a high kill shelter by his owner, supposedly for biting him when he touched his ear. We noticed that Augie has a terrible ear infection. If he did even bite, it could have been out of pain. People who care take these things into consideration. Augie came to us very fearful and shut down, he is slowly showing signs of feeling safe. You can see it in his face and eyes already, that he is relaxing. Augie is going to need a calm, patient, and loving person who will give him time and space. An adult home is best. Possibly another calm dog who will show Augie that life isn't all bad. Augie loves walks!! Meet Amos! He is a 3 year old Lhasa Apso/Tibetan Terrier mix (our best guess) and weighs 20lbs. He has the most beautiful highlight/lowlight hair coat - most of us pay a fortune at the salon for this coloring and his is au naturale! Amos is a sweet guy who loves attention. He will glamour you with his "sit pretty" begging pose - it gets us all the time. This boy will do ANYTHING for food. He adores pets and cuddles, but Amos definitely has a Terrier influence and when it comes to walkies, he is all business. He will walk as long as the day is long if you let him, marching along taking in all the sights and smells. Amos would love an adult home (or even one with teens) where he can hang his hat. He is friendly/indifferent with other dogs and may consider sharing space with another friendly pup.
