Story
Jack is a little dog with a big personality! Jack is playful, spunky, and adores going for walks, playing with toys, and being around his people. Jack can be selective about new friends, so he's looking for experienced adopters who can help continue working on his manners with positive reinforcement and patience. Jack is looking for an adult only home with no other pets, and he is not a fit for an apartment or condo. If you're ready to open up your heart and home to this pup, reach out to us to learn more about him! *Jack has a slightly longer adoption process than our other dogs. If you're interested in learning more about him, you can email adoption@homewardpet.org. *

Story
Gloss is a three year old Lhasa Apso. She is a total sweetheart with a calm, well-behaved soul. While she can be a bit timid at first, she is excellent with other dogs and has made incredible progress lately—she just almost mastered potty training and is finally learning how to play! Her favorite things include long naps, cuddle sessions, and her signature ""return-home zoomies. She loves nothing more than celebrating your return to the apartment with a happy dance. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will treat you like a hero every time you walk through the door, Gloss is your girl. She sleeps a lot, and she sleeps in her bed or on the sofa. She’s not allowed in the human bed. She is soo good and has been pooping and peeing outside the recent days. She gets nervous with loud sounds, and is usually alert. She is good with dogs and other small animals as well as cars. Her life has been challenging in the past, so she is thankful for love and companionship. Every single day of love and cuddles, she chooses to trust a little more. Watching her true colors emerge is a gift. That timid girl is being replaced by a graceful, happy companion who is successfully mastering potty training and finally discovered the joy of playing! She is a calm soul who loves to sleep and cuddle, but her "return-home zoomies" are the ultimate proof of how far she’s come. Gloss is looking for a patient forever home where she can continue to bloom. She is now an apartment dog! She knows all the basic stuff and she will certainly enjoy learning about the great outdoors in a yard if that’s part of her forever home. She is easy going and will be happy to be in a loving forever home. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Keratese is a sweet, independent Lhasa Apso/miniature Poodle puppy. Tug a war and zipping around your feet are her favorite activities. She can be a little more timid at times and does like to have a safe space to run too. Currently, she is sleeping in dog bed that is placed in puppy pen with her another dog. She goes potty outside one time at night. Otherwise she is using puppy pads and going outside frequently. She gets scared with sudden movements and that makes her timid at times. She is good with other dogs, children, and cats. She is food motivated. Keratese would make a great companion for an active family or someone who wants a lap dog. -----

Daviles is a Lhasa Apso/miniature Poodle puppy. He is a loving, affectionate puppy who wants to be by your side at all times and loves to snuggle. He is sleeping in dog bed that is currently in play pen. He is using puppy pads and going outside. He is good with other dogs, cats, and with children. He is food motivated. Daviles would be a great dog for any situation. He’s great with kids and other animals or would be content with a quiet home as well. He couldn’t be more loving and affectionate.. And those eyes….😊 they could melt anything! -----
