Meet Flash! Hi there! My name is Flash, and I’m a 10-year-old, 12-pound Lhasa Apso (or something close to it!) with a big personality packed into a little body. I’m a social guy who truly loves everyone I meet—no warm-up period needed! I’ve been around children ages four and up and do great with them. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the day is when the kids get home from school—I get so excited to see them and join in on the fun! I’m a well-mannered gentleman with great house habits. I’m house trained and prefer lounging on my cozy dog bed over spending time in a crate. I walk nicely on a leash and really enjoy getting out for strolls where I can take my time sniffing, exploring, and checking out the world around me. I even like water, so maybe there are some beach adventures in my future! When it comes to other dogs, I do best with calm, respectful companions. Dogs that are too dominant or “in your face” can make me a little nervous, so I’d love a laid-back canine friend—or to be your one and only. My vision isn’t perfect, but don’t worry—I get around just fine! I may see shadows here and there, but I navigate my world confidently and don’t bump into things. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m all set for my next chapter. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, easygoing companion to share your days with, I might just be your guy. I came into rescue after a nice lady kept seeing me tied up outside a local tire shop. I would just lay on the concrete all day. My new people talked the owner of the tire shop into letting me have a better life by finding a new family. That was no way for me to live. Voltage is tiny, silky-haired, and absolutely full of herself in the best possible way. She plays with little dogs, big dogs, cats, kids, toddlers, teens, and any human willing to give her a lap to sit in or a set of arms to be carried around. Her energy is contagious, her personality is electric, and once she's decided she likes you, you're going to know it. She loves attention, gives great cuddles, and is currently working on her tolerance for baths and blow dryers (a journey we respect and support). Potty training is coming along nicely, too. She uses her pee pads reliably and is getting the hang of going outside in the grass. Voltage would fit into just about any kind of home because she's too busy having a great time to notice any obstacles. Big family, small apartment, other pets, kids of all ages — doesn’t matter. She just wants to be included, preferably in someone's lap…preferably right now. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Berry is a little dog with a big personality! Berry is playful, spunky, and adores going for walks, playing with toys, and being around his people. Berry can be selective about new friends, so he's looking for experienced adopters who can help continue working on his manners with positive reinforcement and patience. Berry is looking for an adult only home with no other pets, and he is not a fit for an apartment or condo. Animal Information: Manny is a 3 year old, 20 pound Lhasa Apso mix who arrived at Stanislaus Animal Shelter as a stray. Staff described him as friendly with people and good with other dogs. This adorable little guy is easy to handle, social, and enjoys human attention. Manny can be a bit forward when meeting other dogs, and while some dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm, he has shown no aggression. He is a sweet and charming companion looking for a loving home. Foster Profile:  This scruffy little guy is nothing but fun! Manny will match your energy whether you’re out hiking, playing ball in the yard or having movie night at home. He just wants to be with his people. Manny is crate trained, knows sit and comes surprisingly well when called. He does well on leash, but it does not appear he’s had much leash experience. He can become quite excited when approaching another dog but there has been no sign of fear or aggression. His behavior is more “C’mon let’s run and play!”  (Continued leash work will quickly teach Manny to contain his excitement.) There have been no issues with house training and he settles easily in his crate at night. Manny wants to be everyone’s friend…I don’t believe he’s ever met a stranger! Chasing a ball, running with the resident dogs and shaking the dickens out of the closest stuffy are some of his favorite pastimes (in addition to snuggling in a blanket at your feet). Manny’s size makes him perfect for many lifestyles. He’s small enough for condo or apartment life and definitely big enough to make a great hiking companion. He does need to work on his jumping and he can be a bit “mouthy” during playtime. For these reasons, I would not recommend a home with small children. Manny should do well with or without a doggy sibling. This pup is going to make a great family addition and will provide companionship with a dose of entertainment! Coco has seen & witnessed evil in life. She was pulled out of a slaughterhouse with several of our other rescues. Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything she has seen, heard & her previous life. We cannot even begin to imagine what Coco witnessed & heard when she was at the slaughterhouse. How Coco ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, she was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Coco & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Coco out, her fate was a torturous death. We believe every sweet soul such as Coco & her friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now Coco is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. Coco was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Coco was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. For everything that Coco has been through she still loves humans & will get on her back for you to rub her belly, she loves her belly to be rubbed. She adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection apart for a very short amount of time in China. She is a really smart girl too because on the day of arrival in her foster home she taught herself to run up hardwood stairs & follow her foster mum. When she finds people who love her they become his world. She is such a soft gentle soul her foster mum said with a very sweet personality. She loves to run & play with her foster siblings & must go to a home with another dog who will play with her. She loves a good outfit & will get ready for you to put one on her. Coco eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. She also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. All of her treats are homemade Coco has been taught to walk on harness & leash & has been doing wonderful. She would need continued work walking on her harness & leash. Coco is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Coco adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming her, baths, the hairdryer she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Coco & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. So far she has not started showing interest in toys in her foster home. Coco has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an amazing, loving little lady. With Coco we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Coco where someone is home during the day or Coco can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too. Coco is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Coco’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home. Coco is now roughly 18.74 lbs & 3 years old. She is spayed & possibly a bichon frise & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is microchipped, up to date on her shots including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we will not redo them except rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. We have spent over $2000 on Coco with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare paying for her medical care, including, shots, spay microchip etc, than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Coco has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Coco with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Coco was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Coco’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. The oh so beautiful inside & out Jesse, whose picture screamed the disgusting neglect he was in, in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He looked absolutely defeated & plain sick & we knew he as deathly ill with pneumonia. He was posted online on social media begging for his life to be saved. The shelter was sending out pleas for a rescue to help him or he was going to be euthanized. The shelter said he was a sweetheart but still no one came to save him. The reality is that when a dog is posted with pneumonia rescues know it’s going to cost a fortune & may financially break them & they still may not survive. We finally were able to get Jesse out with a lot of back & forth with the shelter & once we did it was determined immediately that Jesse was the biggest sweetheart ever. We did determine though that he was extremely ill & may not survive. He stunk & was matted badly. His foster mum took him to get a bath as his fur was so stained all over. We had him booked into our vets but had to rush him in immediately to another vet as he was not doing well & we were frightened with his breathing & it was determined that he need meds, fluids etc until he could get the care from our regular vet. Once our regular vet was open Jesse was admitted immediately for 5 days straight to save his life. If we did not rescue Jesse the pneumonia alone would have killed him in the shelter. After we rescued Jesse, he is coming back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home. We have hired a wonderful private transporter so Jesse could have one on one time with a married couple who are absolutely obsessed with animals. Along his journey here he gets to be apart of the sites & experience them. The absolute insanity to think this baby doll ended up in one of the highest kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. Jesse just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we first rescued him, he ate multiple bowls of food as if he is making up for lost time. In his foster home he eats clean. Fruits, vegetables, grains, raw meat & other proteins along with supplements. He also adores a good treat which are homemade. When it’s time to eat he gets very excited & can jump high with enthusiasm. Jesse is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering what he has endured. His foster mum said Jesse is a very sweet dog & loves his humans. He does get excited now & has a big zest for life, love & adventure. This boy will look at you with so much gratitude & admiration. He is so regal while sitting watching you. He also loves to be with his buddies & just lay with them or do whatever they are doing. She said he is really such a good & smart boy. He loves everyone he meets after he knows them & enjoys being cuddled & given love. He also enjoys snuggling up on the couch & spend his day relaxing. He enjoys sleeping on the couch & sleeping in bed with you at night. His foster mum still cannot believe someone would be so cruel & neglectful to Jesse. Jesse’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & having a wander around & sunning himself. Jesse has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster homes the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He has also started getting used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will stand up & hug him. He has put on a good amount of weight since being in his loving foster home & was so thin when first rescued. Jesse rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit in his car seat next to you with his dog friends. He also enjoys looking out the window. Jesse is a wonderful walker on his harness & leash & loves going on many walks. We are looking for a forever home for Jesse where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. We cannot stress this enough that due to the trauma he experienced at the shelter he must not be put into a crate. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Jesse is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Jesse has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. He absolutely needs another dog in his forever home for him to thrive. Jesse is roughly 8 years old & 18 lbs, he is male, & a bichion frise possibly & neutered. He had the major emergency vet visits & emergency hospital stay for 5 days on fluids, intravenous medications, x-rays to save his life with severe pneumonia. We have Jesse just had full major dental scale & polish & had several teeth removed. He still does have teeth left but not many but that most certainly does not stop him eating his food he loves. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them only rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. After Jesse’s dental we have spent over $4000 to save this precious boys life.
