You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. *Clarisse & Kringle are siblings. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not required.* Meet Kringle! This beautiful boy loves being petted, and having his cheeks scratched puts a big grin on his face! He likes napping on the desk, preferably snuggled up to you. He sleeps on the bed with his people and has even started creeping up to enjoy a warm lap! Kringle loves chasing strings and feather toys, but his true passion is soccer. He often practices with his little foam ball by himself.  When they were kittens, Kringle and his sister, Clarisse, were kept in a crate, all alone in a basement. They were not handled or socialized, so when they arrived at the rescue they were practically wild animals. However, volunteers have had tremendous success transforming Kringle from an extremely distrustful, terrified cat into a nice boy who absolutely soaks up attention! Kringle is still "working on himself," and would do best in a quiet household with an adopter who has previous experience owning cats. He is not suited to a family with small children: due to his lack of socialization, Kringle can become overstimulated and nip at hands. Kringle remains cuddly for longer and longer periods of time, so we are hopeful that when he feels secure in a home of his own, he won't be prone to that protective behavior. Despite his rough kittenhood, Kringle is ready to return affection 10-fold. He has been so brave and resilient and deserves a wonderful home where he can continue to blossom into the sweet boy he was meant to be!  Click here to learn more about Clarisse. Kringle's adoption fee is $200.00. There is a $25.00 discount for adopting a pair of MCR cats, so the fee for both Kringle and Clarisse would be $375.00.  Your adoption fee includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Combo Test (Neg/Neg), dewormer, flea prevention, microchip, and wellness visit.  For more information, contact Maine Coon Rescue at: adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. *Clarisse & Kringle are siblings. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not required.*  Clarisse is a gorgeous girl with a big personality! She is a "Mini Maine Coon Mix." Though she may look like a sophisticated little munchkin, Clarisse loves to play and chase strings as much as the next little cat! She tears around like a wild woman and loves bunny-kicking her kicker toy. When she is ready to relax, she enjoys being petted and has super-soft fur, plus, she has the sweetest, breathy meow that sort of sounds like, "hey."  When they were kittens, Clarisse and her brother, Kringle, were kept in a crate all alone in a basement. They were not handled or socialized, so when they arrived at the rescue, they were practically wild animals. However, volunteers have had tremendous success transforming Clarisse into a sociable kitty that naps next to her people, taps your hand to ask for (demand)  pets, and even comes into the room to cautiously say 'hello' when company comes over.  Clarisse is not suited to a household with children. Due to her lack of socialization, on rare occasions Clarisse may become overstimulated and nip or swat at people. She is still a bit skittish and will have an easier time settling in to a quiet home.  Clarisse is such a funny little critter; with her "turtle toes," expressive face, and big diva energy, she will steal your heart before you know it!  Click here to learn more about Kringle. Story
Plea for help from Jonathan: “My friend and I took in several feral cats a while ago. Most are now socialized and many are bonded pairs/families. Since we are both experiencing severe health problems currently and a move from the area has become necessary, we can no longer care for the cats. We are looking for good homes for them.   We are located in Clinton, MD (southern PG County). The best method of reaching us is: zcathouse.md@gmail.com”   Mushmellow [a.k.a. 'Mush'] (NM, Brown Tabby?, DLH?/Maine Coon?, ~7+ years?) & Scout (NM, Black, DSH, ~6+ years?) Mush[mellow] never liked hanging out at the salad bowl, but his food bowl is his claim to fame and weight gain. Scout waits patiently for his turn. And even though Mush also hogs their bed, Scout still loves him and they always work it out. They are best buds for life! Two gentle giants who were found at our local Rite Aid, and are, thus, referred to as the "Rite Brothers". That said, we don't know whether they are siblings, or even related at all, though it is clear they are strongly bonded and have great affection for one another. Mushmellow was initially quite larger than Scout, so we believe there may be some age difference. Whatever the case, they are both big dudes who will need lots of exercise - along with a relatively strict diet. Mushmellow has a tendency to give some pretty strong 'love bites', but he means well. Scout, on the other hand, likes to make sure he knows where his 'brother' is most of the time.   Disclaimer: AAHA provides complimentary listings for members of the community who wish to rehome their pet, as well as for other shelters/ rescues to assist them in finding Furever homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Fanta may be missing a lot of body parts (a leg, a tail, an ear), but she is the absolute SWEETEST lovable lap cat you'll ever meet! She is only 2 years old, but she's had a rough time up until now! We don't know a whole lot about her back story, but we were told that her family threw her outside and then moved and left her behind. A neighbor who witnessed this reached out to ask if we could take her in, and of course we said yes. That's a harsh story for any cat, but even more so for Fanta who only has 3 legs and has trouble getting around. We don't know how she lost her leg, her tail, and her ear, but our vet said they were definitely injuries, she was not born like this. She was outside in this freezing cold, fending for herself. Now she is in a loving foster home where she has plenty of cozy cat beds (including a heated cat bed which she loves!) She LOVES people and wants nothing more than to snuggle up on your lap and be pet. She likes being carried around and even enjoys belly rubs! She rolls over as soon as she sees you. She kind of scoots/hops around and cannot jump, but she is perfect with using her litter box. Stairs might be difficult for her, but she'd be more than happy to be carried up and down them. She is scared of other animals (the vet thinks that at least her ear injury was most likely caused by another cat), she really can't defend herself or run away, so we think she'd be happiest as an only pet where she can get all the love and attention! She loves the children at her foster home (and all their friends who come over to visit her and give her lots of love). We are always amazed by animals like Fanta, who were so wronged by humans and yet remain so joyful, affectionate and friendly. Her luck has definitely turned around and she is excited to embark in this new chapter! She is an amazing cat and will make a wonderful addition to your home!  This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Mountain Dew missed the bus! Meet Mountain Dew, a silly little 5 month old kitten who should have been available for adoption last month! He was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina and was staying at a loving foster home with his other kitty friends while they waited for transport up to Delaware Pet Rescue. On transport day, a dozen kitties (including Mountain Dew, or so we thought), were loaded up into crates and picked up by our awesome transporter. Then a couple hours later, guess who comes sauntering into the living room - you guessed it - Mountain Dew! We aren't sure how he missed the bus, but he did, and he seemed proud of himself about it! This time, we double and triple checked to make sure he was indeed on the transport bus, and he arrived safe and sound! He is such a friendly and outgoing kitten who just loves to be pet, loves to be held and loves to play. He is great with other cats, dogs and kids. He slept in his foster mom's bed every night and is an A+ cuddler. We love him and we know you will too! Just make sure he doesn't somehow Houdini himself out of his crate when you come pick him up!  This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. Story
Missy (f) is a beautiful Maine Coon mix who found herself living alone and in need of a new person to love when her senior, human dad passed away. She will take a minute to warm up to you but will quickly become your best friend. Missy is 5 years old and the perfect age if you are looking for a kitty who is playful but not high energy. She is talkative but not excessively. Missy also has perfect potty manners. Our gorgeous fluffy lady has lots of love to give to the lucky person or family who adopters her. We think Missy would do best in a quiet home as an only fur companion. ##2357057##
