Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   **This is a courtesty posting, we are networking Tota and Amba so they can find a great home and avoid entering a shelter.**  Tota & Amba Maine Coon mix Brothers Seeking a Home Together Tota and Amba are bonded male longhair cats born in June 2023. They are being rehomed together due to the resident cat not liking them. This decision is unrelated to their behavior, as both cats are friendly, affectionate, and well-adjusted companions. Having been together their entire lives, Tota and Amba share a strong bond and should remain together in their new home. They are social cats who enjoy being around people and are comfortable in both quiet and active household environments. Personality Tota is the more curious and playful of the pair. He enjoys exploring, interactive play, and being involved in whatever his humans are doing. He is affectionate and enjoys being held. Amba is laid-back, affectionate, and eager for cuddles. He enjoys relaxing near his family, receiving attention, and spending quality time with his people. Both cats are: Friendly with people and other cats Litterbox trained with consistent bathroom habits Gentle and affectionate Intelligent and highly treat-motivated Fans of window watching, sunbathing, and interactive play  Their favorite toys include laser pointers, small fuzzy balls, and toys with tails.  Nutrition  Tota and Amba are currently fed approximately 4 oz daily of wet food, including: Royal Canin Indoor Adult Instinct Adult Purina Pro Plan Chicken & Rice Purina Pro Plan Turkey & Rice Purina Pro Plan White Meat Chicken & Vegetables  Water is mixed into their wet food, as both cats tend to prefer moisture from their meals. They prefer still water but will also drink from a fountain.  They are free-fed Royal Canin Appetite Control dry food. Tota self-regulates his intake well, while Amba benefits from occasional monitoring around food.  Litterbox Habits  Both cats have excellent litterbox habits and are comfortable using either pellet or traditional litter.  They have successfully used: Purina Tidy Cats Arm & Hammer Dust Free Litter Grooming As longhaired cats, both benefit from routine brushing. Tota's coat mats easily, particularly around his underarms and hind legs, and requires frequent brushing and occasional trimming for comfort. Amba's coat is lower maintenance and typically remains tangle-free with regular brushing. Their nails are trimmed routinely, and they enjoy having scratching posts available for normal scratching and grooming behaviors. Lifestyle Tota and Amba are strictly indoor cats but have experience with supervised outdoor time while wearing a leash and harness. They enjoy spending time outdoors safely, though they are equally content watching birds, people, and wildlife from a sunny window. Neither cat displays aggressive behavior and they do not bite, scratch, or hiss except in situations where they may be frightened or distressed. Special Note About Amba Amba has a harmless self-soothing behavior in which he mimics kitten nursing. He seeks out a trusted person, settles into a comfortable spot nearby, and relaxes while engaging in this behavior. It is simply a comforting habit and part of his unique personality. Ideal Home Tota and Amba are looking for a family that can provide companionship, enrichment, and continued opportunities to stay together. They are affectionate, social cats who enjoy being part of everyday life and will make wonderful companions for the right home. Bonded pair - must be adopted together. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Joe is a 6‑month‑old all‑black sweetheart with a big fluffy tail and a gentle, thoughtful way of moving through the world. When he first arrived at DPR as a tiny kitten, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of everything—but he has come such a long way. Joe is calm, observant, and prefers to take his time getting comfortable, and once he does, he shows a warm, soft affection that feels incredibly special. He’s wonderful with other cats and dogs, finding comfort and confidence in their company, and he enjoys being part of the household without needing to be the center of attention. What he needs most is an adopter who appreciates a kitten with a quieter nature and is happy to continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. With patience, kindness, and a gentle home, Joe will blossom into a loyal, loving companion. This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.    Mrs. McGregor is a 6‑year‑old tortie Maine Coon treasure, nearly 15 pounds of fluffy charm and warm affection. When she arrived at DPR, she was covered in uncomfortable mats, so we had to shave them out—leaving her looking a little quirky for now—but her gorgeous coat will grow back beautifully. She genuinely enjoys being brushed, and she’ll need an adopter who can keep up with regular grooming so she never has to feel that discomfort again. Mrs. McGregor is incredibly sweet, full of personality, and loves being pet, she even likes belly rubs! As soon as she sees us she starts rolling around, it's the cutest thing. She also enjoys sitting on your lap. When she's not cuddling she likes chasing toy mice or playing with the feather wand teasers. She likes to be up high, looking down over her kingdom. She likes our kitty shelves and loves soft bedding. She's great with the scratching posts and is fully litter box trained. She’s wonderful with other cats, kittens, dogs, and kids, making her a gentle, social presence in any home. She enjoys lounging on her scratching post and spends plenty of time gazing out the window like the thoughtful, affectionate girl she is. With her loving nature, big Maine Coon presence, and total sweetheart personality, Mrs. McGregor is ready to bring warmth and joy to a family who will cherish her. This cat is spayed, microchipped, up to date on distemper and rabies vaccinations, dewormings, tested negative for FIV/Felv, is on flea/tick preventative and ear mite preventative.
