Story
DOB 1-8-2025 They don't come any cuter or sweeter then little Nina! This gorgeous girl is looking for her Mom, she is social, loves to play and gets along with the other littles. She is so pretty sporting her beautiful new summer cut! Nina's adoption fee is 800.00 and her transport is 165.00. She is all up to date on medical for her age. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they leave every other week The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Please contact Sandra (Sandi) (ssotis@cox.net) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation  $599 Located:  in KY will be in RI  on 7/20/25 (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: approx 5 years old  Weight: 11 lbs.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:     ssotis@cox.net Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Story
We are happy to introduce Angel, a Maltipoo recently arrived to Rhode Island!  She has been through a lot, arriving at a Houston, TX shelter in rough shape, but she has gotten the attention she needs...shaved of her mats, spayed, a lung infection treated....and will be a beauty once her coat grows back!  She was someone's loved pet at some point, and once she gets back in that setting shines with rays of joy.  We have seen that ourselves, going from a cowering dog in the shelter too shut down to even seek attention, shifting to vibrant simply by being relocated to the home of her Texas foster that very same day.  Angel is gentle, affectionate and very sweet, only wanting to be by your side.   She pays very good attention to her people without being overbearing, LOVES to go on walks, or simply to bask in the comfort of a dog bed.  She is easy to handle, gets along with kids, dogs and cats,  but does not need other pets for company.  With other dogs, she is no pushover and knows how to assert herself, but once settled in lives with them harmoniously.  She's roughly seven years of age, so either middle aged or a very young senior, which much life left in front of her, although as is true of all dogs of a certain age, more veterinary care and expense can be expected....true of all dogs, but with these older ones it just comes sooner.  With frequent out times, she is ok with her housebreaking, but will need patience as she settles into a routine.  All set to go, if you have questions or would like an application, please reach out to Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com.  Southpaws' adoption fee is kept reasonable at $450, but we unfortunately cannot adopt to Massachusetts or New Hampshire residents due to state restrictions.
