Waffle is a small dog- about 17lbs- with a big personality and an even bigger need for the right forever home. While he may be adorable, Waffle is not the type of dog who will thrive in just any environment. Our best guess is that he may be a Maltipoo mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are simply our best guess. Waffle was left behind with two other dogs after his owner was deported, and that experience understandably left him insecure and unsure of the world around him. Because of this, Waffle takes time to warm up to new people and environments. He is not the kind of dog who will immediately shower strangers with affection, but with patience, structure, and consistency, he is capable of forming very strong bonds with his people. Waffle absolutely needs another younger dog in his forever home — ideally a confident dog around his age and similar size who can handle his rough-and-tumble play style, occasional reactivity, and active personality. He relies heavily on other dogs for confidence and comfort, and another dog is essential to helping him feel secure and continue making progress. His ideal home will have: • A securely fenced physical yard (no apartments, condos, or invisible fences) • Another young, confident dog in the home • Experienced adopters familiar with nervous or reactive dogs • A structured environment with boundaries and routine • Patience and realistic expectations during decompression Waffle is vocal, especially when uncertain, so shared-wall living is not appropriate for him. He is also still working on leash skills and can bark at unfamiliar people and dogs on walks. Keeping his world small at first and allowing him to slowly build trust will be very important for his success. Despite his challenges, Waffle has so much potential in the right home. He enjoys playtime, exploring the yard, and being with his dog friends. He is also cat friendly! Watching him slowly learn to trust and feel safe is incredibly rewarding, and the right family will see a side of Waffle that most people never get the chance to experience. This happy, friendly little sweetheart is possibly a Maltese mix and is sure to keep you smiling with his adorable charm. Button is the definition of tiny but mighty. At just around 1 lb, this little Maltese/Pekingese mix is impossibly small, ridiculously cute, and full of happy puppy energy. He’s playful, affectionate, friendly, and always excited to be part of whatever is happening around him. Button was rescued from an unsafe situation where his mom and 5 siblings were tragically run over by cars after being allowed to roam loose near the road. Sadly, only 3 puppies survived from the litter. Despite that heartbreaking start, Button is a joyful little puppy who absolutely loves people and life. He has a very slight underbite that somehow only makes him even cuter. Because of his tiny size and young age, Button will not be neutered prior to adoption. Adopters will be required to provide proof of neuter in 2027 once he is fully grown and medically ready. Meet Winston, an adult (approx. 5 years old) neutered male Wire Terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs!  Winston is currently in TN and is expected to arrive in CT on 5/30. We are accepting applications on him now! He will be required to attend our adoption event in Dayville, CT on 6/14. His foster said, "Winston is very sweet with people but is not comfortable with young children. He is working on being more comfortable with being on a leash." Zoe is a beautiful 7-month-old Morkie with a fun, playful personality and so much love to give. We purchased her in January 2026, and she has been well cared for and loved ever since. She is healthy, up to date on her care, and all veterinary and purchase records will be included. Zoe is very energetic, affectionate, and would thrive in a home that has the time and energy to give her plenty of attention, play, and continued training. She would likely do especially well with an active individual, couple, or family familiar with small-breed puppies. Zoe is partially house trained and making progress, though she still has occasional accidents as expected for her age. Because of her tiny size, she can fit through small openings in a fence, so a secure outdoor setup or supervised time outside is important. This has been a difficult decision for our family, but with two young children at home, we feel Zoe deserves a home better suited to her energy level and needs.

Born around March 12, 2025, Myles weighs 17.6 pounds and is full of personality. He came to us as part of a 29-dog seizure where, although the dogs were cared for, they didn’t get the individual attention and socialization they needed. Despite that, Myles has proven to be incredibly friendly and people-loving. He thrives on attention and is always excited to be around his humans. Myles would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he truly enjoys companionship and being part of daily life. Myles has also been seen by an ophthalmologist and has cataracts in one eye. He is currently on special eye drops, and we are hopeful for improvement with continued treatment. He also has a playful side—he absolutely loves toys and is always up for some fun. Whether it’s a game of toss or just carrying his favorite toy around, he knows how to enjoy life. He’s currently learning how to walk on a leash and will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping him build confidence and skills. With his sweet nature and eagerness to connect, Myles is sure to make a wonderful companion. Myles’ adoption fee is $400.
