Story
🐾 **Adopt Snowball!** 🐾 Snowball is a 7-year-old Maltese mix with a heart as fluffy as his name! This sweet boy is looking for a forever home where he’ll be treated like the treasured companion he is. Snowball is great with kids and other dogs. He doesn’t love being left alone for long periods of time but he’d absolutely thrive with a family who can take him along for life’s adventures. 🚗🐶💕 He’s doing great with house training and is learning to use pee pads consistently. Snowball walks well on a leash (though he might pull a little at first) and sleeps soundly through the night. He hasn’t been crated, but he does well in a pen and travels like a pro! Snowball is the perfect sidekick for someone looking for a loyal, loving little dog to share their day-to-day life with. 📍 Located in Connecticut 📩 Apply to adopt: www.pprct.org Let’s find Snowball the forever family he deserves! 🐾💙

Story
DOB 1-8-2025 They don't come any cuter or sweeter then little Nina! This gorgeous girl is looking for her Mom, she is social, loves to play and gets along with the other littles. She is so pretty sporting her beautiful new summer cut! Nina's adoption fee is 800.00 and her transport is 165.00. She is all up to date on medical for her age. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they leave every other week The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dexter! Say hello to Dexter, a lovable mixed Maltese male with a heart as big as his personality! Born around April 16, 2024, Dexter weighs in at a cuddly 17.1 pounds and is ready to find his forever home. Dexter’s journey started off rough—he was living on the streets until a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in and gave him a second chance. Despite his tough beginnings, Dexter is incredibly friendly and full of joy. He gets along great with other dogs and charms everyone he meets with his funny, goofy personality. This little guy lives for attention and isn’t shy about stealing the spotlight! He is young and does have some mischievous behaviors that will need someone who has time to train him. Most of the issues can be solved through crate training.  If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing and love you endlessly, Dexter is your guy. His adoption fee is $350, and you can apply for him at www.adoggie4you.org. Dexter is ready to bring joy to your life—are you ready to meet him? This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2025, 5:35 pm

Story
Name: Reina Nicknames: Reina Marie Breed: Maltese/Maltese mix Sex: Female Age: ~6.5 Weight: 10 lbs. Before OMD/Medical: Animal Control seized 37 dogs from a hoarding situation (dogs were kept in a barn in filthy conditions) and reached out for help. Reina was one of the last dogs left at animal control from the case and we took her and her housemate, Pancake, into rescue. She saw our vet right away for a mammary tumor and suspected UTI, but x-rays revealed a massive bladder stone that took up almost her entire bladder (we can only imagine the discomfort she had been in..and for goodness knows how long!). She had the mammary tumor removed (and confirmed benign) and stone also removed, along with a dental cleaning. Energy Level: Low to medium. Overall very mellow, but has moments of play and zoomies. Descriptors: Cuddly. Affectionate. Loving. Sweet. Shy when meeting new people, but warms up quick once she feels comfortable. Velco level: High. Wants to sit beside you or on your lap at all times. What we love most: The way she continuously waves her front paws in the air when she is very excited. Her before-bed-time zoomies on the bed. How she loves to be loved. What she loves most: Snuggling with her people. Being outside (although she tries to eat everything in the grass in a rooting fashion). Barking at the TV if she hears a dog. What she doesn’t love: Being left alone(read: she will bark for a bit, and she would not be a good fit for a shared walls environment). The car. Moonlights as: A Seal when excited, an anteater when out in the yard. Basic commands: None tbh, but she knows her name! House trained: No (unsurprising, given her history as a hoarding dog and with a long-term bladder stone). She does go outside, but Reina wears pants while she’s in the house. If she does not have them on, she will pee in the house and has been known to squat on the bed. Crate trained: Nope. Reina does not like to be crated, and is currently left out when alone. Dogs: She loves all the dogs in her foster home, but she needs to eat separately and has been known to resource guard foster mom's lap. Kids: We think she would be just fine with dog savvy kids. Cats: Yes as long as the cat is dog-savvy. Currently fostered with cats and, overall, does very well, but they do get her worked up at times Ideal home: A family who will continue her prescription food to prevent recurring bladder stones. A family who is happy to treat her like a little princess and share their laps. Preferably a home where her people are home more often than away. Everything is new for Reina, so a patient home would be ideal. Reina is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org

Story
Say hello to Frieda! She is a 7 year old Maltese/Pug/Chihuahua mix (per her DNA testing she is a mix of 13 different breeds, making her extra special!). Frieda is a stout, solid girl weighing in at 21lbs. She is a gentle sweetheart and will make an excellent canine companion. Frieda is totally housetrained and has good leash manners. She is very food motivated which has made her training fun and rewarding. Frieda does not require tons of exercise and can be content with a short walk to do her business, but she will also easily do a 2 mile walk if that is your thing. Frieda is not overly needy either - she happily seeks attention, pets, and praise, then is content to lay on her bed quietly chewing her bone, she likes to be near her people and will keep you in sight when you are home. Frieda would be happy as the only dog in the home or could co-exist with a friendly, calm dog (she is not looking for a playmate, but rather a canine roommate/companion). A quiet, adult home or one with gentle teenagers would be a good match for Frieda as well. Frieda has some well controlled medical issues and requires special food and daily meds. She is absolutely no problem to give pills to, just put them in a little canned food and she will gobble them down. To learn more about how to make Frieda your next 4-legged family member, please contact Beth at beth.b@poainc.org AND complete an application ASAP at www.poainc.org.
