For the well-being of our dogs, our kennels are closed to the public for general viewing. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please call 1-800-452-0114 for more information or stop by our shelters 12:00pm- 4:30pm, 7 days a week and speak to one of our adoption counselors.~ I can live in a single family home, condos and apartments considered.~ I want to live with kids over age 16 who are gentle and respectful of pets.~ I get a lot of confidence from other dogs so I need to be adopted to a home that has at least one other social, friendly dog.*~ I have not had much experience with cats. I may be willing to share my home with a feline.~ I am calm but have my moments of energy and need to get some exercise every day.~ I am a great dog with lots of potential. I need a patient family shy dog experience.~ I have some special needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This is ball of fun is PEPE, he is a 9 month old and 9 pound playful puppy who loves everyone and very social.  He has not met a dog he does not like and wants to run and play together, big and small dogs, he loves them all.  He is not a fan of cats, he has already been tested. PEPE was an owner surrender from a lady who relocated and could not care for him any longer.  He is crate trained and treat/food motivated which is a great learning assistant.  He does well on a leash although he is all over the place and needs some guidance but he does good for never being on a leash before I got him. PEPE will need to be groomed about every 3 months. He is pretty independent but does not turn away from any love and hugs you may want to give him and he likes being carried and going places with you. He likes to look out the window while riding in a car. If you are interested in adopting PEPE, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         August 21, 2025, 9:22 am

Story
Name: Reina Nicknames: Reina Marie Breed: Maltese/Maltese mix Sex: Female Age: ~7 Weight: 10 lbs. Before OMD/Medical: Animal Control seized 37 dogs from a hoarding situation (dogs were kept in a barn in filthy conditions) and reached out for help. Reina was one of the last dogs left at animal control from the case and we took her and her housemate, Pancake, into rescue. She saw our vet right away for a mammary tumor and suspected UTI, but x-rays revealed a massive bladder stone that took up almost her entire bladder (we can only imagine the discomfort she had been in..and for goodness knows how long!). She had the mammary tumor removed (and confirmed benign) and stone also removed, along with a dental cleaning. Energy Level: Low to medium. Overall very mellow, but has moments of play and zoomies. Descriptors: Cuddly. Affectionate. Loving. Sweet. Shy when meeting new people, but warms up quick once she feels comfortable. Velco level: High. Wants to sit beside you or on your lap at all times. What we love most: The way she continuously waves her front paws in the air when she is very excited. Her before-bed-time zoomies on the bed. How she loves to be loved. What she loves most: Snuggling with her people. Being outside (although she tries to eat everything in the grass in a rooting fashion). Barking at the TV if she hears a dog. What she doesn’t love: Being left alone(read: she will bark for a bit, and she would not be a good fit for a shared walls environment). The car. Moonlights as: A Seal when excited, an anteater when out in the yard. Basic commands: None tbh, but she knows her name! House trained: Not totally (unsurprising, given her history as a hoarding dog and with long-term bladder stones) but making progress! She does ngo outside and sometimes on pads, but will also go on rugs Crate trained: Nope. Reina does not like to be crated, and is currently left out when alone. Dogs: She loves all the dogs in her foster home, but she needs to eat separately and has been known to resource guard foster mom's lap. Kids: We think she would be just fine with dog savvy kids. Cats: Yes as long as the cat is dog-savvy. Currently fostered with cats and, overall, does very well, but they do get her worked up at times Ideal home: A family who will continue her prescription food to prevent recurring bladder stones. A family who is happy to treat her like a little princess and share their laps. Preferably a home where her people are home more often than away. Everything is new for Reina, so a patient home would be ideal. Reina is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to residents of Connecticut and surrounding states. If interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org

Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 15 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
