Happy, loyal and active Bonded pair of Maltipoos looking for a Maltipoo experienced family. Please contact us to submit an application directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com or https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Dog Laverne and Shirley are 18 mos to 2 yrs old 11 to 15 lb Maltipoos. Someone dumped this bonded pair of gals severely matted and full of fleas. They are very happy now that they have been groomed. They are in a foster home with another foo foo dog. They are kinda shy and timid at first but bond to people. They are crate trained and leash trained. They use a doggie door to go into back yard that is securely fenced. They love hanging out with people and on the furniture. This bonded pair will require a securely fenced yard and frequent grooming. San Antonio area has over 800,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Please contact us to ask about our adoption process and our adoption fees.

Story
Spike is a handsome maltipoo mix. He can be a little shy at first, it takes him a minute to trust someone and warm up. But once he does, you have best friend for life! He is a very happy cuddly dog. Spike has the most fun natural blonde Mohawk that just adds to his charm! DOB 5/8/24 and around 25 lbs. Spike prefers a home without cats and, honestly, would do best as the only furry companion. He can be a bit of an attention hog and doesn’t like to share his favorite human! He would also do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12, who will respect his personal space while he adjusts to a new environment. He does have a lot of energy, so he also has his paws crossed for a backyard with a privacy fence! Find our application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Fallon DOB: 12/12/24 Weight: Small (~15 lbs) Breed: Mixed Breed – Poodle/Terrier Energy Level: Moderate to High If you’re looking for a dog with personality, Fallon is your guy. This little dude is full of character, confidence, and just enough sass to keep life interesting. Fallon is one of those dogs that will absolutely make you laugh once you understand him, but he does need the right person who can see past his “tough guy” act. Fallon is affectionate, playful, and bonds closely with his people. He enjoys being near you, loves soft places (especially fresh laundry), and has a funny, expressive way of communicating. Personality & Temperament Confident, vocal, expressive, and full of personality. Fallon likes to “talk” and will absolutely let you know how he feels with little growls and grumbles. This is NOT aggression. This is his personality. He acts like a tough guy, but it’s all bluff. Fallon does not have a mean bone in his body, he just has a big opinion and isn’t shy about sharing it. He thrives with someone calm and confident who doesn’t take his sass too seriously. Compatibility Dogs: Yes, gets along well, may act a little bossy or vocal Cats: Good, however he is likely to pester (typical terrier curiosity) lol Kids: Older children recommended (due to personality and need for understanding his behavior) Training & Skills Fallon is smart and observant. He learns quickly, but like many small, expressive dogs, he needs guidance that is calm and consistent. His biggest “challenge” is not behavior, it’s being misunderstood. If pushed too quickly or handled without allowing him to settle, he will become more vocal and defensive. Very Important – Decompression Fallon requires proper decompression when entering a new home. This means: No rushing interaction No immediate leash work No overwhelming him with people Give him time, space, and calm structure When given that time, his true personality comes out quickly and he settles beautifully. Failure to follow decompression will result in increased vocal behavior and stress, which is exactly what led to his previous return. Special Skills Certified “Tough Guy” Fallon will absolutely let you know he’s ready to “throw paws”… …but it’s all talk. Approach him calmly, give him a moment, and you’ll quickly see he’s all fluff than fighter. (Don't tell him we told you this..) Adoption Requirements • Patient, calm, and confident owner • Willingness to follow decompression guidelines • Someone who understands small dog “attitude” behavior • Home that will not be intimidated by vocally expressive little dog. Fun Facts / Quirks • LOVES fresh blankets and laundry • Will claim the softest spot immediately • Full of personality and sass • Bonds deeply with his people • Makes you laugh once you “get” him • Acts like he runs the house Fallon is not a dog for someone looking for a couch potato, but for the right person, he is an incredibly entertaining, affectionate, and loyal companion, and his little tough guy attitude is so endearing and makes you love him even more. :) If you’re looking for a dog with personality, humor, and just a little bit of attitude…(All talk)... Fallon is your guy. Special Traits: Highly expressive and vocal; uses growling as communication, not aggression. Needs an adopter who understands confidence and calm handling. Ideal Home: Calm, confident home with someone who understands dog behavior, will follow decompression, and can appreciate a dog with a bold personality. If you think you and Fallon might be a good match, fill out an application on our website! https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/
