Story
Spike is a handsome maltipoo mix. He can be a little shy at first, it takes him a minute to trust someone and warm up. But once he does, you have best friend for life! He is a very happy cuddly dog. Spike has the most fun natural blonde Mohawk that just adds to his charm! DOB 5/8/24 and around 25 lbs. Spike prefers a home without cats and, honestly, would do best as the only furry companion. He can be a bit of an attention hog and doesn’t like to share his favorite human! He would also do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12, who will respect his personal space while he adjusts to a new environment. He does have a lot of energy, so he also has his paws crossed for a backyard with a privacy fence! Find our application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/

Story
Precious Linda is looking for a special adopter who will help her on her journey learning how to be a dog! She’s a 3 year old, 8 pound, Maltese who is just trying to sort out this new world she finds herself in. She’s nervous and shy, but is doing well with other dogs and proving that she wants love from people, she just hasn’t learned how to ask for it yet. She doesn’t like being away from her foster mom so her crate isn’t her favorite! She’s working on potty training and just generally learning to trust. If you give her a patient home, with time Linda will surely prove to be your little shadow! She deserves nothing but the best from now on and we are sure the perfect home is just waiting for her! Linda's adoption fee is $550

Story
Meet KevinRetired. Relaxed. Ready to Be Your Tiny Best Friend.Kevin has exactly three goals in life:Follow his favorite people.Sample every snack you have.Find the sunniest spot in the yard and pretend he's on vacation.Frankly, he's absolutely crushing all three. This 8-year-old, 6-pound Maltese was found wandering the streets of Georgia, somehow surviving on his own until a kind family took him in and searched for his owner. No one ever came.Which is honestly unbelievable. Because Kevin is the kind of dog people spend years hoping to find. He's sweet. He's gentle. He's funny without trying. He loves every person, every dog, every cat, and approaches life with the attitude that everyone is probably going to be his friend.Golden Retrievers that outweigh him by 80 pounds? No problem.Cats? "Nice to meet you."Complete strangers? "Welcome! I've been expecting you."Kevin is basically the mayor of Tinyville. His foster home has two huge Golden Retrievers and another dog, yet Kevin happily toddles right into the middle of the pack like he's been running the neighborhood watch for years. If the wrestling gets a little too rowdy, he simply excuses himself like the distinguished gentleman he is."I'll be over here...not getting body slammed."Smart choice, Kevin.Every morning begins with what may be the greatest thing you'll ever witness.Kevin wakes up... Stands up... Shakes with his whole tiny body... Shakes so enthusiastically that he occasionally tips completely over... Then pops right back up with the biggest smile and a wagging tail as if to say, "Nailed it."It's impossible not to laugh.Kevin also believes personal space is highly overrated. If you're making coffee... He's supervising.Doing laundry... He's helping.Walking to another room... He's already halfway there. Not because he's needy. Because life is simply more fun together. His favorite hobby is serving as the Chief Snack Quality Assurance Officer.Chicken? Approved.Cheese? Exceptional.Dog treats? Five stars.Random crumb that fell on the floor? Outstanding culinary experience. He's still putting a little healthy weight back on after his days as a stray, and he's fully committed to the assignment.Kevin's activity level falls somewhere between "pleasant neighborhood stroll" and "professional sunbather." Give him a Hawaiian shirt, a beach chair, and a tiny umbrella drink (filled with water, of course), and he'd happily spend the afternoon convincing everyone retirement is underrated. He enjoys walks, exploring with his people, and lounging wherever the sunshine happens to land. His only complaints in life? Cars are suspicious. Crates are unnecessary.Everything else? He's remarkably easygoing.Kevin is housebroken as long as you keep him on a schedule, rarely barks, doesn't shed, and sleeps like a little gentleman—starting the night beside your bed before wandering off to whichever cozy dog bed looks most appealing. His bloodwork showed mildly elevated kidney values when he first entered rescue, likely due to whatever life looked like before he was found. He's now eating a kidney-support diet along with supplements, and we're hopeful those numbers continue to improve. Otherwise, Kevin is healthy, happy, and ready to write the best chapter of his life.Kevin's Résumé:Professional shadowCertified lap warmerSnack connoisseurFriend to dogs, cats, and humans alikeLow-maintenance roommateSunshine enthusiastHawaiian shirt model10/10 adorable face (seriously...have you seen it?)Kevin doesn't need adventure. He doesn't need excitement. He doesn't need a mansion. He just needs someone who'll let him tag along through life's ordinary moments. Morning coffee. An afternoon walk. A cozy nap. A few treats. A soft bed. Someone to love. After surviving life on the streets, Kevin has decided those ordinary moments are actually extraordinary. And if you ask him, the best vacation isn't somewhere tropical. It's finally being home.Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Story
Hi, I’m Ace, your future fluffy shadow! I’m a 20-lb Maltese with a soft white/buff coat and a heart that’s all about cuddles and companionship.A few things about me:• I’m a great walker and don’t pull on the leash.• I love being close to my people — expect me to follow you around and try to hop into your lap for pets.• I’m currently on a weight-management diet so I can stay healthy and active.• I’m potty trained and will go to the door (sometimes with an excited little jump!) to let you know I need to go out.• I take medication easily with a little chicken broth and a few tasty treats. My party trick: I can sit up on my back legs with my front paws in the air… and even dance a little! My foster is still trying to catch it on camera. My personality:I thrive on praise, affection, and being near my humans. I’ll also let you know when someone or another animal is nearby — I like to keep watch over my home.Things we’re still learning:We’re not quite sure yet how I do with cats or men, but my foster is helping figure that out. If you’re looking for a sweet, fluffy companion who loves cuddles and being by your side, I might be your guy.You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JrsPupsNStuffInc or https://www.instagram.com/jrspupsnstuffAsk to meet me today!!Adoption fee: $550All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an online application at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Story
Imogen is a sweet senior girl with a gentle soul, a happy tail wag, and a heart full of love. Thought to be around 14 yrs old, she enjoys being held and cuddled but is just as happy relaxing on a cozy dog bed. Though deaf and completely blind, Imogen has adapted beautifully after having her eyes removed due to uncontrolled glaucoma. She is much more comfortable and has a little pep in her step.Imogen is quiet, rarely barks, likes to spend time with her favorite human, and is generally indifferent to other dogs. She`s very food-motivated and happily enjoys her twice-daily meals. A true homebody, Imogen is content spending her days napping, receiving gentle affection, and simply being part of the family. She is trustworthy when left alone and will often circle when she needs to go outside. The most important thing to know about Imogen is that she is a loving, resilient senior who asks for very little - a soft place to rest, kind hands to pet her, and a family to call her own. If you`re looking for a calm, devoted companion, Imogen may be the perfect match. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don`t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
