Story
I rescued this dog over 2 years ago from a friend that had puppy’s. For the first year she was perfect with the other dogs in my house. She got bit by one of the small dogs in my home and it turned her. She attacked him. She gets along w a large calm dog in my home. She is 2.5 years old. Vet gave her anxiety meds to see if that helps but since the small dogs are traumatized from the attacks I can’t keep her around them. They are older. She is a lover. She takes care of my autistic 5 year old nephew and loves cuddling in my bed with me. Loves all people. She loves chasing squirrels and birds in the back yard. She loves treats. It has gotten difficult on my older parents to keep all dogs separate and while I work. I work a lot. This is very hard for me. But my living situation just can’t handle this right now. When we go on walks she doesn’t even react. Maybe it’s the dogs in my house? I just want to find her a home to be spoiled in. It’s what she deserves. Help?

HI! My name is Samson! I am a 4-yea-old Mastiff mix. I came in to the shelter as a stray. At first everything was scary and I wasn't quite sure how to handle it. Although, was was friendly with the staff. I do play with people, but if I'm being honest I would much rather spend time with you doing nothing. I really am just a really big lap dog and will lay in your lap for as long as humanly possible. So, I'd be a phenomenal movie buddy on your days off. I do great with dogs, especially my sibling Delilah, but we'd still appreciate it if you'd bring your four legged companions with you when you visit. Also, bring your children too, as we want to make sure I get along with all of your family members. If you think I could be the boy for you, come visit me at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter any day, and please bring any and all human family and canine family members along too! Hope to see you soon friends!! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 97.8 Age: 4yrs 0mths 1wks

Hi! My name is Delilah! I am a 3-year-old Mastiff mix. I was brought into the shelter as a stray. Don't let my kennel presence fool you. I am the sweetest girl known to human kind the moment I'm taken outside. I will rub all up on you like a cat just to get pets. I will even roll over to get belly rubs! I'll even lay in your lap like I'm not over 80lbs. I am good with dogs, especially my sibling Samson, but we'd still appreciate it if you brought your other four legged companions along. If you could also bring your children along too, that would be great, as we want to make sure I get along with all members of the family. If I seem like I could be the perfect fit, especially if you're looking for an overly affectionate big dog, please come visit me at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter any day. Hope to meet you soon friends!! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 82.2 Age: 3yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Meet Hunny! 🐾🍯Hunny is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who is settling in wonderfully at NCHS after her family made the difficult decision to surrender her. This tall, lanky lady has quickly won us over with her happy personality and adventurous spirit!Hunny walks nicely on a leash and is working hard on her door manners. Her previous owner shared that she can climb a chain-link fence, which makes us wonder if there might be some Treeing Walker Coonhound in her family tree. One thing is certain—this girl loves to explore and is always ready for her next adventure. That being said, do be aware of her high prey drive towards squirrels and small critters.Full of energy and enthusiasm, Hunny would thrive with an active family. She would love to join you for hikes, car rides, neighborhood walks, and playtime with kids and other (not small) dogs. With her curious nature and zest for life, she'll need a secure space and plenty of opportunities to stretch her legs and explore the world around her.If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you smiling and make every day an adventure, Hunny may be the perfect match for youapply at nchsrescue.org/adoptfill out application - https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=nh0734&method=online_form_html&formid=17
