Story
Meet Winnie! Winnie is another one of our babies who was found just wandering around a rural area in South Georgia. Locals reported seeing Winnie waiting at the bus stop for children each day but still no one ever came looking for her Winnie is a strikingly beautiful brindle girl, about 5 yrs old. She's very chill and would probably thrive as the Queen of her own Castle, but she does get along well with other dogs too. A nice quiet place to sun bathe outside and a comfy sofa with a soft blanket is what this lovely lady wants more than anything else! As is very common with most of the dogs we rescue from rural areas, Winnie did test positive for heartworm disease. RMG utilizes a slow kill treatment protocol studied by a veterinary cardiologist in Atlanta. All treatment medications are provided and there are typically no lasting effects after successful treatment  Interested in adding a bit of royalty to your family? Story
Meet Redwood, a handsome 4-year-old Mastiff /Redbone Coonhound with a big personality and an even bigger love for people! Weighing about 74 lbs, this gentle boy is as friendly and loyal as they come -- a true people dog who adores being near his humans and sharing every moment of life by their side. Redwood has a wonderful, easygoing personality with a medium energy level that makes him the perfect mix of playful and calm. He loves to spend time outdoors -- running around the backyard, playing fetch, exploring on walks, or just lounging in the sun -- but he&#39s equally happy curling up for some cuddle time when the day winds down. He&#39s dog-friendly and great with kids, though because of his size and enthusiasm, he&#39d do best with older children who won&#39t get bowled over by his love. Redwood walks nicely on the leash and is learning new tricks every day -- he&#39s such a smart boy and eager to please! This sweet boy is crate and potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated -- all ready for his forever home. Redwood&#39s gentle, loyal nature makes him a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving best friend. Whether you&#39re enjoying a quiet evening at home or heading out for a walk, he&#39ll be right there beside you, happy just to be part of your world. Apply today to give Redwood a new home. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.December 22, 2025, 9:36 pm

Story
Cadet Kelly – ID 16085 – Kennel 803 Mastiff mix – grey and white – female – 2 years old – 61 lb – will be spayed prior to adoption – up to date on vaccines – heartworm negative – arrived Jan 1 Cadet Kelly is a lovely young mastiff mix with a friendly, attentive presence that makes her a joy to spend time with. At 2 years old, she has moved past the puppy chaos while still keeping a playful spark that shines during one-on-one time. A volunteer described her as a nice pup who loves toys—especially squeaky ones—and her excitement is contagious when playtime begins. Cadet Kelly enjoys engaging with people and shows great focus and attentiveness, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys interactive play and enrichment. Her size is balanced by her gentle demeanor, and she seems happiest when she has something fun to do and someone to share it with. Cadet Kelly is ready for a home where she can enjoy toys, attention, and a steady routine. With continued guidance and love, she has all the makings of a loyal, playful, and devoted companion who will bring joy and laughter to her future family. Story
Meet Barklee Barklee is a big puppy who is still learning how to behave. He is easily trained with commands when not distracted. He loves to cuddle and loves blankets. He is still food-motivated, but his favorite treats are ice cubes! As much as he loves people and getting attention, he is still very reactive to other dogs (particularly males). So, continued training is required. With his size (approximately 75 lbs), the fact that he doesn’t know his size or strength, and he’s still learning to make good choices, an ideal home environment at this time would be: - No young children - Single-family home; no apartment - Fenced yard at least 5ft high - No cats - No dogs, unless you’re able to integrate Barklee into the home well over time. He currently lives with two female dogs that were already in the home; they are 50-60 lbs (one dominant, one submissive). However, it’s uncertain whether an existing male/female or dominant/submissive dog in a new home would make a difference/be better - Not being left alone for long periods. He’s used to having at least one person at home or the two other dogs at all time. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Hi, I’m Lainey I’m a brindle Mastiff with a huge heart and an even bigger love for people. I was underweight and recovering from a fractured pelvis, but I’ve healed up well and am doing great now. I won’t be running marathons, but I’m perfectly happy strolling a fenced yard and can climb stairs with no problems. I’m an affectionate, gentle giant who truly believes everyone is a friend. I love being with my people; whether that means following you from room to room or simply relaxing nearby. I’ve done well with dogs of all sizes, from tiny Pomeranians to large dogs like Belgian Malinois. Even if a dog startles me out of a sound sleep, I’ll only give them a big woof and then curl back up. I don’t enjoy being left alone and have shown my frustration by chewing on a pillow, my dog bed, and bending the crate I was in. If I need to be crated, I do best in a large, heavy-duty “lion-style” crate rather than a wire one. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to share life by your side, I might be your girl. Lainey currently weighs about 100lbs, is approximately 5-6 years old (est. birth date 04/27/2023), and her adoption fee is $315. Lainey has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Lainey, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
