Story
HI, I'M BALOO! I LOVE KIDS AND OTHER DOGS. IF YOU'D LIKE TO ADOPT ME, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION AT WWW.BARKVILLEDOGRESCUE.ORG/APPLICATIONS OR SEND AN EMAIL TO INFO@BARKVILLEDOGRESCUE.ORG. Meet handsome and adoptable Baloo! This 1-year-old Mastiff mix is a big, lovable goofball who's still growing into his paws and is expected to reach around 100 pounds full grown. Don't let his size fool you--Baloo is as sweet as they come and he loves being part of the action! Baloo is potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent leash manners, making him a great companion both at home and out on walks. He is also smart and eager to please--he already knows his basic commands and is highly food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Baloo does great with other dogs and older kids (due to his size), and he absolutely loves to run, play, and wrestle with his canine friends. With his energy level, he'll thrive in a home that can give him plenty of exercise and space to stretch his legs. His ideal home would include a fenced yard where he can safely run and play, along with another friendly dog to keep him company and match his playful spirit. If you're looking for a big-hearted, active companion who's equal parts fun and affection, Baloo might be your perfect match! Baloo is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you're interested in adopting this special boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.September 23, 2026, 1:38 am

Story
We adopted Gracie from the local shelter. We had a meet & greet between her & our current dog, and everything went smoothly! The first week, they were playing like besties. The second week, you could tell our original dog was getting annoyed and frustrated with having another dog in the house. Yesterday & today, he attacked Gracie at the slightest annoyance. We’re rehoming her to get her out of the stressful environment of being around our first dog. Gracie is a Mastiff mix just over 2 years old. She’s very playful & super sweet! She’s house trained but does not enjoy the crate. She’s getting better at being on the leash, and we have a theory that she might make a great hunting dog. That sniffer is always working! She’s highly food motivated and does well with all dogs (we’ve introduced her to family members’ dogs). It’s our other dog that is the issue, but we’ve had him for years, since he was a puppy, and cannot rehome him. She’s so kind & silly and deserves a home full of love!

Story
I know very little about his origin since he was dropped on me by an ex. He’s assumed to be around 8 years old. He’s super sweet and listens very well, I got so lucky, a dog of this size could’ve been a huge mess but he’s worked with me so well. I don’t have a yard (my ex was supposed to house him) and I’m trying to move out soon and can’t take him with me. He’s got chronic skin infections that I’ve easily treated with medication, not super expensive but still an additional cost. He’s a big baby who wouldn’t hurt a fly but he doesn’t get nearly enough sociability living with me and needs someone who can spend more time with him and can more easily afford an older, large, chronically ill German shepherd. He’s also missing a good bit of fur due to the amount of time he spent in a shelter without medication to treat his skin, hence the name Dogmeat. A dog this sweet deserves a much better life than he’s had and much better than I could give him, especially coming up on old age.

Please contact Tammy for more information about this pet.Easy-going family manA Letter from Hector To My Future Family… Hi, it’s me—Hector. You may not know me yet, but I’ve been waiting for you. I’m 10 years old, around 70 lbs, and I’ve spent the last 3 years hoping someone like you would come along. I’ve had homes before… some good, some not so much. I’ve been returned, lost, and forgotten. Once, I even walked myself back to the shelter gates because, deep down, I knew I deserved better. And I still believe I do. I’m not asking for much—just a soft place to land and someone who means it when they say “forever.” I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I know my commands. I also just got a great health report from the vet. Aside from a little arthritis, I'm healthy as a horse. Yeehaw! I love snuggles, slow strolls, and feeling like I belong. I’m gentle with people and can live with sturdy kids. I get along with some dog friends too—just no cats, please. My caretaker says I’m loyal, low-key, and full of love. I just need a home where I can finally exhale and know I’m safe. Where I can lay my head down and not worry about being left again. So if you're out there—my person, my family—please come find me. I've waited a long time, but I still believe you're coming. Story
I rescued this dog over 2 years ago from a friend that had puppy’s. For the first year she was perfect with the other dogs in my house. She got bit by one of the small dogs in my home and it turned her. She attacked him. She gets along w a large calm dog in my home. She is 2.5 years old. Vet gave her anxiety meds to see if that helps but since the small dogs are traumatized from the attacks I can’t keep her around them. They are older. She is a lover. She takes care of my autistic 5 year old nephew and loves cuddling in my bed with me. Loves all people. She loves chasing squirrels and birds in the back yard. She loves treats. It has gotten difficult on my older parents to keep all dogs separate and while I work. I work a lot. This is very hard for me. But my living situation just can’t handle this right now. When we go on walks she doesn’t even react. Maybe it’s the dogs in my house? I just want to find her a home to be spoiled in. It’s what she deserves.
