Story
Meet Atlas! Atlas is a beautiful 60 pound brindle mastiff and lab mix. He is 4 years old and a very sweet and down to earth boy. Atlas sat in a city shelter for over 6 months before coming to us. Atlas loves his people, especially if they’re women. He is a lover and such a sweetheart. Atlas is an overall chill and happy boy. He listens very well off leash and his favorite thing to do is play with toys out in the yard. Atlas is a playful boy and loves to throw his toys around the house. He loves walks and he absolutely loves treats. He will often lay with his paws crossed, as any sophisticated boy would do. We are looking for a home with no younger children, as they can be loud. Atlas is not good with small dogs or cats. He is selective with dogs his size. Atlas is potty trained and crate trained. He has never had an accident in the home or in his crate while we’re at work. He’s a great walker on the leash. If he sounds like a good fit, adopt our boy today!

Story
We rescued Doyle from our local shelter as we suspected an obstruction. He received surgery, in which several things were found, including foam and screws. He has recovered nicely from the procedure and has gained over 20lbs! He has had no interested in eating anything other than food since his surgery. We suspect he was starved, and resorted to eating whatever he could find at the time. Doyle is delightful, friendly and low energy. He has no clue that he doesn't fit in your lap, and wants nothing more than to flop his body all over you in lovings! If you have kids, we would recommend children over the age of 10, as he is a big boy!

Story
Harry is a big, lovable derpy dog who loves everyone he meets. Harry is about 85% potty trained and he’s 100% lapdog. He doesn't know how big he is, and wears is love on the outside. He is certainly a very happy dog if he has room to move. No fault of his own, Harry has been bounced around from home to home and did a couple tours of the city shelter when we stepped in and decided to give him a chance. Harry has had very little structure in his young life and he most likely missed the window of development when dogs learn to read other dogs. So, while he absolutely loves other dogs, he has no idea how to read body language. Because of Harry's lack of socialization he tends to want humans to himself. Therefore, he does need to be the only dog in the home. Harry has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he gets to go most places with his people or his people are home a lot. Harry also has no idea that he’s an 95 lb dog with more weight to put on. Because of Harry's large size and inability to read personal space, he would do better with a stronger person of stature. Harry thinks he is still a puppy and can easily be unpredictable with his joy. He's basically a lovable-wrecking ball in dog form. Harry has the stubbornness of a mastiff. If he doesn't want to do something he either plays "catch the mastiff" or "dead mastiff." Both can be frustrating, but also funny if you like that kind of thing. Most of what Harry is trying to avoid is being alone. You absolutely will not find a dog with a bigger heart than Harry. But I’m not gonna lie, he is A LOT. He’s got some baggage from being bounced around. He needs structure, patience, and time. And, of course, lots of love. Are you Harry’s person? Fill out an adoption application on our website, Sketchymuttsandunderdogs.org and we will set up a time to talk about him! **Adopters must live in Central Indiana, no more than 45 min from downtown Indy
Photo of Belle

Belle

Mastiff German Shepherd Dog

Female, Young
Speedway, IN
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Belle originally came to us as an 8 week old puppy found as a stray. She was adopted and then at 14 months old because adopters had not provided any training and were started to struggle with adolescent shepherd behaviors. She is currently living in a foster home with 9 other dogs and doing well. She is high energy and likes to play hard. While she has been around children, we do not recommend small children due to her size and energy level. She is crate trained and potty trained. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, and someone who is committed to ongoing training. Belle is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

Story
Harley is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Harley is a very sweet boy. He loves people at any age. He's leary of bigger dogs cause he's been attacked but I'm sure in short time he'd accept one. He just gets scared if rushed. He's been with Chihuahuas. When my youngest Chihuahua was a young pup he played all over him. He protested a little when he'd jump and bit at his face, but never aggressively. His mix is call Mastador cause he's ½ Mastiff ½ Lab. He has good manors but make sure little ones are not in front of him when you let him out the front door cause he'll think he's going in the car. Just recently his been having issues holding his bladder. Most times he'll ask to go out other times he'll get up and walk to the back and pee. He needs a back yard or country home. He's UTD on shots and due his heartworm meds. He also is microchipped. His latest medical information is at MCHA. He needs a home as soon as possible cause I'm in an apartment and can't keep him now. Love him and his little kisses to death but I can't keep him in my apartment anymore and he has to much life to live. I don't even like the thought of having to put this boy down for this. He'd be a great kids best friend. If you are interested in adopting Harley, please text 812-821-2515. ***Please ignore the Apply to Adopt button for this pet & contact the owner directly***

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
> good with indoor cats, not outdoor cats as she becomes prey driven. > good with dogs, would benefit from a meet and greet first. > potty trained but needs let out at least three times a day to prevent accidents. > loves all people and Is only 1 belly rub away from being your new best friend. > Very mild food aggression if any animals try to eat out of her designated food bowl. Not food aggressive towards people at all. > had a cruciate ligament tear inx her knee at some point but two vets have said surgery is not required as it is an old injury that has had scar tissue to grow around it. She gets around just fine and isn’t in pain from it. Will likely need arthritis pain medication in the future according to her most recent vet visit. > she loves soft squeaky toys to play with but must be watched or she will eat them! She will also eat socks if she gets bored so make sure she gets walks and attention and to keep socks off the floor.
