Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to OR for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Taz Danforth, a fun-loving, super sweet, and all-around amazing guy! Taz is a friendly, affectionate, playful, funny, and loves giving kisses. He's also a good boy who's great with kids and other dogs, but he can be a little shy at first. He walks well on a leash, but you will need to gain his trust first. Surprisingly, Taz was found abandoned by the side of the road as a puppy. How anyone could leave this adorable pup is beyond us, but we're so glad he's alive and well! With his rough start in life, Taz is a resilient pup who is eager to give and receive love. Don't let his size intimidate you, though - he's as gentle as they come and is always up for a cuddle sesh. If you're interested in welcoming this sweet boy into your family, please fill out an online adoption application. All Taz needs now is that forever family! He is around 2 years old and weighs around 85 pounds. We aren't sure what breed he is, but we this hes a mastiff mix of some sort. Interested in becoming a forever home for Taz? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Story
Baby is 3.5 years old and mostly a sweetheart. While she got along fine with cats with her previous owner, she isn't with mine. And she is 95% good with kids, but resource guards, so she will snap and lunge - even if they are ignoring her and several feet away. She eats their toys. The other concern aside my cat and children is she does need to be retrained. She wants to leave the house (she loves car rides so drive to get her, as she doesn't come when called). She can sit, lay, and shake, and loves her kennel. She loves playing with our other dog, but does not like that dog near her food. She would do well with someone who could redirect potties. She is trained but sometimes decides to go inside. She walks well with her harness. She loves to go up to people for belly rubs, but hold on tight when she sees another dog.

Story
This sweet girl is Xena! When you first meet her, you’ll realize that she’s two things: gorgeous, number one of course, then you’ll realize how gentle she is. Xena is not the smallest girl in the bunch, however, she is the most calm and laid-back—almost to the point where you will forget she’s there. You can often find her and her doggie bed or on the couch. Those are her happy places. well, anywhere she can lay down is really a happy place for her. If you can’t find her in those two places, you can most likely find her outside sunbathing while her friends romp around in the grass. Life with her is simple and sweet— just as it should be! Watch Xena and get to know her endearing self right here! https://youtu.be/Tw_C3T6JvQg?si=r1DB-Q_90B07U1Zc We believe that Xena is a mix between a mastiff and a Staffordshire terrier. We believe she is around 5 years old! With rescue this is just a guess. However, one thing that we can promise? Lots of love and snuggles in your future. Xena is a gorgeous fawn color with the sweetest droopy puppy dog eyes looking up at you like “are you gonna give me a treat or what?!” She’s a thick girl that’s not running any marathons, but she can promise you that she will be the best snuggle bug in the house. Her Foster’s children love to tuck her in and make her a little burrito in her blankies. She would be the perfect family dog for a family that loves to relax and sit outside having many backyard barbecue nights and morning coffee in the rocking chairs. I could see Xena happily sitting outside with you watching you garden and water the flowers. Xena would really be happy observing anything as long as she gets to lay down. She’s hilarious. But don’t think she’s all naps— Xena enjoys a good trip to the local park where she can watch the kids play and get her exercise in. The best part about going to the park is obviously all the compliments that she receives. “Oh she’s so beautiful!” “What’s her name? She’s gorgeous!” “Xena you are so calm!” Etc. Xena is extremely dog friendly living with four other foster dogs. She gets along well with everyone. she loves to do her own thing at the end of the day. If the other doggies have zoomies, she’ll happily watch them and cheer them on. She greets everyone with a gentle sniff and then she’s on her way to go say hi to the next doggie friend. We think that Xena could fit into really any chill pack because she gets along well with both male and females. Xena’s perfect partner? A chill older pup like herself who enjoys movie nights and couch cuddle puddles. Xena would love a backyard, but one is not required. She is easy as pie on leash and she would love to go on a walk around the apartment complex if that’s what she needed. I could totally see her happily, watching everyone from a balcony taking in the world around her. Her larger size may make her more of a candidate for a house with the backyard, especially because she’s not built for lots of exercise. Lol. We have not seen her with any kitty cats just yet, but we are happy to test her with whatever you may need. Just say the word! Does Xena sound like your girl? Story
Yogi says if you buy the toys, he will bring the love! Let’s get right to the key details about Yogi’s favorite things in the world. In no particular order-people, toys, and affection - sometimes all at once. If you are familiar with the breed, so much of him will be so familiar! Take a look at his video to catch those signature mastiff- like moves then come back to read more about him. https://youtu.be/ghHJi5U86No Yogi is so fortunate and is fostered in a dedicated home with a professional dog trainer- lucky him, lucky you! His foster has fallen in love with him and praises his enthusiasm for learning and contagious fun-loving nature. Yogi is estimated to be right around 1 year-old. Likely a Mastiff mix (take one look and tell me you don’t see it) and he weighs a healthy 103 lbs. That weight is equal parts strength, sweetness, and silly puppy energy. This boy is affectionate to his core and when he loves you, he really loves you, like the type of dog who will flop his full weight into your lap or throw himself across your legs for belly rubs. Lap-dog life choose him, plain and simple. Because of that eagerness, and sheer size, he needs a confident handler who understands how to set and maintain boundaries. He listens well to calm, assertive leadership and is learning “drop it” and “leave it” beautifully with his foster/trainer. Yogi’s trainability is on display when you see him on-leash. If you’re anything like me, there is nothing more physically empowering than walking a giant dog calmly and with full control. Yogi will meet you half way on that if you share that sentiment. He walks well on leash, keeps an easy pace, and is responsive to his handler. Of course given all training is on-going, he will need continued reinforcement to keep improving his focus no matter what he encounters while on a walk. Yogi’s love of toys, and shared play with them like tug-of-war, can lead to him getting over-stimulate which can lead to him getting vocal and a little mouthy. He is not coming from a negative place but he is working on this because it can be easily misunderstood as negative behavior. He is responding wonderfully to consistent structure, strong sense of commands and clear communication from his handler. Yogi’s love for toys is deep and true and because of his size, his ideal home will be one without small children and either as an only dog or paired with a confident, easy-going female who isn’t toy-obsessed. He’s met other dogs and does well with calm companions who give him space to relax and just be his goofy, briefly-bouncy, oversized self. True to the Mastiff spirit, Yogi is loyal, smart, and sensitive. He wants to please his person and thrives with routine, patience, and love. He is both house and crate-trained, goes into his kennel on command, and knows “sit” and “leave it” like a pro. He would do best in a home (not an apartment) where he can stretch those big legs and cool off indoors after a short romp- aka not Texas. The Texas heat is not his favorite! If you’ve been looking for a big, soulful sidekick, one who is as huggable as he is striking, Yogi is ready to deliver! This carnival-prize-teddy-bear-dog is going to make an incredible lifelong companion! Ready to welcome Yogi home? Story
Meet Lady Rose— the Queen of Cuddles and Couch Time! 👑 If you’re looking for the world’s sweetest, most smooshable, big-headed lovebug… you’ve found her! Lady is a 3-year-old mastiff mix with the softest soul and the cutest little white “shoes” you’ve ever seen. She’s equal parts gentle couch potato and goofy best friend — basically a perfect mix of chill and charm. Lady LOVES her people and will happily lean right into you for snuggles, belly rubs, or just to remind you that she’s there. She’s the kind of dog who rolls over for pets, politely asks for more, and then melts into your lap (yes, she’s convinced she’s lap-sized). She has perfected the art of leaning her whole body into you just to make sure you know she loves you. She’s not pushy about it either — she’ll politely ask for affection, and when you stop, she gives you the saddest “but why did you stop petting me?” look until your heart melts and you start again. She loves to roll over for belly rubs, and if she could, she’d spend all day like that. Watch Lady Rose in action in her video! https://youtu.be/CrIBB0RQicA?si=iQAFu6ekTYtBx0sT This big girl is a total dream on leash — she walks right beside you like she’s done it a million times before, checking in often with a little look that says, “Am I doing good?” (Spoiler: she’s always doing good.) She’s super easy to handle and loves meeting new people. In fact, she’s never met a stranger — she walks right up to everyone she meets, wiggles, leans in for pets, and wins hearts instantly. Lady is also amazing with kiddos — she knows to be extra gentle, doesn’t jump, and melts when little hands reach for her. She’s the kind of dog that makes people say, “Wow, she’s such a good girl,” about ten times in a row. When it comes to other dogs, Lady has what we call “queen energy.” She’s calm, polite, and a little bit aloof — she doesn’t need to be the center of the dog party, but she’ll happily hang out in the same space as long as everyone’s being respectful. She’s met a few dogs in playgroups and usually prefers to wander around and mind her business (unless someone gets a little too bouncy in her face — then she’ll give them a tiny “hey, personal space please” and go back to her stroll). She’d do best with another laid-back, mellow dog who won’t pester her for playtime — or she’d be perfectly happy being the only royalty in the house! And let’s talk about kitties — Lady met one and was a total lady about it! She was curious but cautious, gave a sniff or two, and then politely backed off when the kitty didn’t seem interested. She’s got great manners and would do just fine sharing her castle with a feline friend who appreciates her calm energy. At home, Lady is pure cozy vibes. She’s low-energy and would rather nap next to you than run around. She’s the ultimate couch potato. She’s all about comfort, love, and being close to her people. Lady would do amazing in a home or apartment with someone who wants a snuggle buddy, walking companion, and best friend all rolled into one big, sweet, smooshy face. She’s affectionate, gentle, and ready to fill your life with calm, goofy joy. So if you’ve been dreaming of a big-headed, soft-hearted, nap-loving, people-adoring, kid-snuggling, dog-tolerating, cat-respecting queen to rule your heart, Lady Rose is your gal!! Believe in second chances! I'm Buddha boy, a shining star waiting to sparkle in my forever home! 🌟 I'm a people person and a loyal companion. At my age I prefer to be an only pet. 🙏 On a leash, I'm a rockstar! I thrive on walks and can't resist a game of fetch. And, for my age, I'm still agile and full of life! 💪 I love going "bye bye" in the car to head for walks! I am a great car rider! My ideal home would be one that is quiet and allows me to just be the special dog that I am. One that doesn't have a lot of traffic in/out. I take time to warm up to new people and would prefer a home where I was not bombarded with new things all the time. I thrive on consistency. 🐾 Please note: no small pets, cats, or dogs, as my instincts might get the better of me.
