Story
Brenda Corsa is all about balance. Does she love a good play session or walk? Yes! Does she also love to snuggle up for cozy cuddlesome? Umm..absolutely yes! That is my kind of girl, one with dog-life balance. You have already seen her face but take a minute to watch her in action so you can soak in just how amazingly cute everything about her is. From the tip of her nose to the end of her tail she has unique adorable all over. https://youtu.be/A0lq1emcdBE We estimate that Brenda is a year old and she currently weighs 58 lbs. Given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed but we would guess she has some mastiff in there. Just look at that face of hers. If you get her DNA done after adoption do share the results, we love knowing alongside you! Brenda is fostered in a home with two parents, a 9 year old daughter, and three dogs- one small and spicy, one small and moody, and one just her size who is equally playful. Her foster family shared that she was an easy addition to their home from the start. They shared “She is crate trained, house broken (not a single accident!), and she rides in trucks like an old pro. If the front door opens, she heads straight to the truck—she’s all about those rides!” On top of that they praise her for her ability to know exactly who’s up for playtime and who’d rather snooze on the couch. She’s all about making friends and we saw the same thing when we spent the afternoon with her. She was introduced to a handful of dogs and it is easy to see, she has great dog manners and leads with a playful friendly approach. If the dog does not return that playfulness she moves on without any concern. Plus, she is a toy-lover!. Fetch, tug-of-war, squeaky toys—she’s always up for some fun and the best part is that she can self entertain. In addition to meeting new dogs, we introduced her to our house cat and she showed us the qualities we look for in order to label a dog as cat-tolerant. She met him politely, was not pushy, did not bark at him and quickly moved on barely paying him any attention despite him being in the room with us for some time. This girl is made for a multi-pet home. Her foster family shared this with us when discussing her personality and experience with her- “We’ve had so much fun fostering her and know she’s going to make someone really happy. She’s just an awesome dog all around. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, toy-loving, truck-riding buddy, Corsa’s your girl. Whoever scoops her up is going to be so lucky!” I just had to share because you can just her the love in those words! We would love to see her in a home with a playful dog who equally understands play is fun but long naps are too. Although she has potential to be an apartment girlie thanks to her ease on leash, size and quiet nature, we would love to see her in a home with a yard to play in. She is very people friendly and a lovebug. She’ll cozy up to anyone who’s willing to give her some pets so if you are a house with an open-door, everyones welcome approach to life, Brenda promises to be part of the welcoming crew. Kids, grown-ups, strangers—it doesn’t matter. Welcome! If you have met your match, apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6830b81193bc1b2c15071ec1 Questions? You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Hephaestus is a 5-month-old Alabai x Boerboel mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s already had her vaccinations, been dewormed, and is crate trained—so she’s off to a great start! She’s playful, smart, and full of energy. Always up for an adventure or a game of tug. She’s also incredibly affectionate and intuitive—she loves being close to her people and is quick to form strong bonds. With her mix of two powerful guardian breeds, she’s naturally confident and observant, but also gentle and loving.

Story
Fae is a wonderful girl who is very chill in the house and great with my younger kids. She does lay around most of the day but has lots of energy for walks. She is 4 years old and needs a place with a backyard or something where it is much easier to spot dogs. Apartments would not be a good option as a dog could pop out anywhere and she will go for them. Her being around 140 lbs, it’s a lot to hold back. A backyard for her to run run around in would probably be the best option. You could possibly introduce her to another dog very carefully but not sure. Our last home there was another dog she grew up with and they were fine together.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bruhno Bruhno is still a work in progress.  Bruhno is a very shy English Mastiff.  He is learning to walk on a leash and ride in cars. Bruhno is good with other dogs and was raised with children.  It will be a while before we feel he is ready for adoption. His future "furever" family will need to be prepared for the long haul. Bruhno is terrified of new situations.  His main and immediate response is to immediately empty his bladder  Any adopters will have to be prepared for this.  He is house trained; this is a fear response. If you are interested in Bruhno or any of our fosters, please go to our website at www.mastiffrescueoregon.org, click on adoption info, and submit an application online. An application is required for any meet and greet. All of our fosters are in private homes.  Please be courteous, and do not call prior to 8:00am or after 8:00pm  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 12:21 am
