Story
History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! Tiberius (nicknamed Ty) is just an all-around happy guy with lots of love to give. Because of his large size, he was a bit unruly when he first arrived and didn't have any skills or manners. In order to help make things manageable for his forever family, Tiberius has completed a three-week board & train program where he was working on things like crate training, leash walking, focus on his handler, and general manners. He has come a long way! Now he is ready to find a family that appreciates him for his goofy personality and tendency to be a lap dog!

Story
You might remember Athena. She’s the runner. The one who stayed loose for weeks. The dog everyone rooted for. And somehow… she’s still here. Athena is not a “dog park dog,” and she’s not looking for a house full of other dogs. What she is looking for is her person—or her family. Athena is AMAZING with people and kids. She bonds deeply, loves attention, and truly thrives when she’s with her humans. She’s affectionate, loyal, and wants nothing more than to be included in your day. The honest part (because honesty matters): Not dog-friendly, actually no other animals at all!  Excellent with people Wonderful with kids Loyal, affectionate, and loves her humans Athena has been overlooked again and again—not because she’s lacking, but because she needs to be the only dog. And that’s okay. Some dogs don’t want roommates. Some dogs want a family. Athena has survived being on the run, lymes disease, being scared, and being unsure who to trust. What she deserves now is stability, consistency, and someone who chooses her—fully. Located in Wisconsin Please share. Athena already fought hard for her life—she shouldn’t have to fight for a home too. ##2571746##

She loves everything! People? Awesome! Other dogs? Please! Cuddles and pets? That stump tail won't stop wagging! Toys? These things are amazing! Snow and cold? Well, maybe not everything is great... This may be the happiest girl ever. She is so happy to be in a house and out of the shelter. She acts like a pup and is so full of love. She is a little underweight, but she also loves food and treats, so she will have no trouble getting to her ideal weight. She loves to have her super soft ears rubbed and thus far has not tried to climb on our furniture, even though the other dogs in the house do. We do have to feed her separately as she would try to steal other dogs food. Please come meet this distinguished face girl, she will love you too!

Story
Meet the one and only Scrumps! This big guy came to us as a transfer from Milwaukee and has quickly stolen the hearts of both staff members and volunteers here in Neenah. He`s got a big playful spirit and a loving personality. He loves to play and definitely shows off his puppy side through his exuberant and goofy playstyle. He does best with female dogs who are also young and energetic and don`t mind `rough and tumble` play. Outside of playtime, Scrumps loves soaking up all the attention he can get from his human friends. He enjoys going for walks, especially when he can stop to sniff around and snack on the snow. He’s doing well on leash and continues to improve, though he can still pull a bit when he gets excited.Scrumps also makes a great travel buddy and does well on car rides. He loves carrying his stuffies around and proudly showing them off to everyone he meets. He’s quickly learning “sit” and other basic commands and would be happy to keep learning more. While we’re still getting to know his potty and house-training habits, he always keeps his blankets and stuffies tidy in his kennel.Scrumps may do well in a home with older children who can appreciate his size and energy. He also may do well in a home with another female dog, but so far he hasn`t enjoyed meeting male dogs. We aren`t yet sure how Scrumps would do in a home with cats. Scrumps is currently available for a foster-to-adopt home while he waits for his upcoming ophthalmologist appointment. This appointment will allow a specialist to assess his eyes and determine whether any additional treatment or ongoing care is needed. In the meantime, he can settle into a loving home environment, and a foster-to-adopt arrangement gives potential adopters the opportunity to get to know him while we gather more information about his eye health. We will, of course, keep the foster/adoptive family fully informed after the ophthalmology visit and discuss any next steps if further care is recommended. If you’re interested in providing him with a temporary or potentially permanent home during this time, we’d love to hear from you. This sweet, affectionate boy is looking for a home that will enjoy his playful and big-hearted energy. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Meet Dylan: Dylan’s story is one of love, growth, and second chances. This 10-month-old Mastiff is currently in Northern Illinois. She was recently returned to the original shelter she was adopted from, and we are helping advertise her in hopes that she finds the forever home she truly deserves. Dylan is available through Orphans of the Storm. View Dylan’s full profile here: https://orphansofthestorm.org/dog-details/?idParam=130992 Dylan is a goofy, affectionate, super squishy-faced puppy who absolutely loves her people. She is wonderful with kids and adores them, but because she’s a happy, bouncy 70-pound puppy, she can accidentally knock over smaller children during play. She would do best in a home with older kids who can handle her size and enthusiasm. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing, especially with dogs who match her playful energy. However, she can be a little selective with certain dogs and has shown some leash reactivity. Because of this, Dylan would benefit from a confident owner who is committed to working with her through training and continued exposure. With consistency and guidance, she has so much potential to grow into an incredible companion. Dylan is house trained and crate trained, giving her a solid foundation to build on. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a home that can provide structure, patience, and leadership while embracing her joyful personality. She would thrive in an active household with experienced dog owners who understand large-breed puppies and are willing to invest time in training and helping her become the best dog she can be. Age: 10 months Gender: Female (Spayed) Weight: 70 lbs Breed: Mastiff Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Needs work (can be leash reactive) Good with Dogs: Yes (playful, but somewhat selective) Good with Cats: Unsure Good with Kids: Yes (best with older kids) Dylan is a loving, loyal girl with a huge heart. She just needs the right environment, structure, and guidance to truly shine. With the right person by her side, she has the potential to become an amazing lifelong companion.
