Pepper was a rescue from Seattle Humane. She was five months old when I got her in January of last year. She’s had all her shots and been on worm/flea medicine monthly. She was clearly abused before I got her because she was terrified of anyone and everything when she first came to stay with me. I trained her about going potty outside, and taught her to trust. She’s really come out of her shell, and is sweet, loving, and fun to spend time with.

I bonded pretty quickly in my foster home but I'd do best in a quieter home where my person could work from home or is retired. I would also do best in a home without small kiddos but I do well with the other dogs in my foster home and love to play with them! I'm probably around 2years old and I come in at about 20lbs. I'm house trained but not so fond of the crate. I do love to be where you are whether it's beside you on the couch or snoozing in my doggie bed beside your computer while you work. I'm pretty mellow and don't need a whole lot of exercise but I do love to sniff everything in the yard and playing with the other pups is just grand!!! I've got a short coat that is super easy in the maintenance department, kind of a wash-n-go type of gal. You do know what that means, don't ya? Yep yep, more time for the spoil me rotten department!! Ruddy is a happy little guy who loves to play with other dogs and toys and is the life of the party. He has not been socialized around many people and will need time to adjust before feeling comfortable with being picked up. Meet Caleb! An adorable 2-year-old dachshund weighing 11 lbs. and super sweet!! He is looking for his forever home after being in foster care and learning that love is gentle, patient, understanding, and kind. Caleb's past life was unkind and little by little, the past is becoming a distant memory. He is playful, sweet, a loving boy who like every dachshund, is vocal, very treat motivated, doesn't like the cold/rain, and can de-squeak a toy in seconds!! He gets along with both women & men but does prefer females. Caleb is a work in progress with his potty training however he is completely pee pad trained (keeping in mind that a new change will nonetheless bring a few accidents). Through no fault of his own, Caleb will easily learn to go outside with your positive encouragement and guidance - his past trauma was potty related where he lived in car, was scolded and learned to hold it for a very long time). He is crate trained and walks fairly nicely on leash. Caleb has fully recovered from IVDD and therefore his home will have limited stairs, keep his weight ideal, no jumping, and fed a high-quality diet with a good joint supplement. Caleb enjoys canine companionship of similar size & age, gets along with dog savvy cats, and children who are older 12+ (he does not like quick movements). Poor innocent, sweet & forgotten about Gapy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 3 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Gapy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Gapy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. We truly believe that Gapy was originally someone’s dog & they just did not want him anymore from his mannerisms & his behavior of knowing certain things. All this boy wants is to be loved & have a home to call his own. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we got him out of the shelter his nails were so extremely long & his nails were clipped by our vets but will need to be & regularly dremeled to get them to a good place. Gapy at times can have a big personality & knows what he wants. He isn’t the biggest cuddler but enjoys being patted & being loved. He is a independent little man. That being said, Gapy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time & put on weight instantly in his foster home. Gapy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. But he will also do his own thing. Gapy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Gapy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Gapy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog in the home for him to thrive. Gapy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. This boy enjoys going into a crate sometimes so that tells us that someone used to call him to go into a crate. In his foster home he sleeps in the bed with his foster mum or will sleep on the dog bed. Gapy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Gapy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with a playful dog. Gapy is roughly just over 6 years old & 21 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male. He had a dental & polish & we got him neutered. Gapy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We are currently treating Gapy for a bad skin infection. We have spent far more on Gapy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with, neuter, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, flea meds, dewormer, boarding, dental scale & polish etc. Gapy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Gapy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gapy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Gapy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Gapy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Gapy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion.
