Story
BB is proof positive that good things come in small packages. This affectionate little cuddle bug is a 4-and-a-half-year-old Mini Pinscher/Chihuahua mixed breed whose petite size cannot hide his big heart and desire for a new forever home and family. BB can stand for just about anything and there have been a few suggestions like, Baby Boy, Biscuit Bandit, Beanie Baby, etc. We like to think that BB stands for Best Buddy!BB came into shelter as an owner surrender due to unfortunate family circumstances that rendered his owners unable to keep him. He weighs 20 pounds, making him a small dog (10-31 pounds). BB is super sweet and craves affection, attention and a lap for cuddling throughout the day. Dogs and children are his perfect companions. It is not known whether BB is comfortable with cats.BB is already house trained and is hard at work on his crate and leash training. Rescue dogs should be expected to have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, family and routines. If crate training is anticipated, BB requires a crate that lets him lie down, stand up and turn around. Crates should never be used for punishment, should be warm and cozy dens and BB should be able to go in and out as he desires during training. If you are the creative type, you now have the opportunity to decide what BB stands for, but you will discover that whatever you pick, you will* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for BB is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.May 13, 2026, 8:32 am

Story
Hi everyone!! I am a pretty little Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix named Lucy. I am 6 months old, weigh 12.8 lbs, and was dumped in Von Ormy, Texas. I am currently staying in a foster home while getting ready for adoption... spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and cute as can be. My foster mom wants you to know that I am a major snuggler! Yep, snuggling is my specialty, along with some kisses; I am truly a sweet and affectionate girl. I am also totally friendly, not shy at all, and I am already best friends with everyone I meet… humans of all ages and other dogs. I might be able to be friends with a kitty cat, too, since I did not try to chase or nip at him, but I was scared when we met. I love playtime with my doggy friends, playing chase, running zoomies like an expert, and I love to wrestle and tumble with another small dog who lives here. I love having fun, but when I see my foster mom heading to the couch, I will beat her there, already ready for some snuggles, and I'll usually have my little teddy bear toy ready to sleep with, LOL! Don't get me wrong, I am not a Velcro dog. I am good when left at home with just my doggy friends, but when she comes in the door, even if she has only been outside for 2 minutes, I am twirling and running zoomies filled with happiness like I haven't seen her in years! I am well behaved, housebroken, and I know how to use a potty pad when it’s bad weather outside. I only bark when I need to alert someone, and I walk well with a little harness. No problem on car rides either. I am a great little girl, ready to fall in love with a forever family! Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
-Trey is a handsome Min Pin boy that is estimated to be one year old and weighing at slim and sleek 17 pounds.  This boy was found as a stray with a desperate need to be cared for with love and dedication.   Critter Cavalry Rescue was luckily contacted by the shelter director and implored to please find him a forever home and turn his sweet life around. Trey deserves to have a wonderful family or single person who wants this nice but nervous boy to be their cuddle bug for many years to come.   You can see in his face that he has never been treated so nicely.   His foster mom says he is submissive with the other dogs and would fit in with any family that has other cats and dogs.  He is crate trained and unbelievably housebroken.  Maybe he was someone's boy at one time and somehow lost his way.  He was not microchipped nor neutered and he seems a bit ragged around the edges when he was found.  One of those road warriors who somehow survived the odds of the past winter filled with snow and ice storms.  Trey loves the feel of the cool green grass as he rolls on his back with a smile.  He never growls even when some of the other jealous dogs have growled at him when he arrived.  He just takes it in stride.  He is quiet and needs some reassurance from his human foster mom.  Of course he feels vulnerable but we hope that soon there will be a wonderful door that will open for his future and someone will invite him home to live the dream life of a well-loved dog.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We adopt locally where we are based in Nashville,Tn and also transport to the northeastern states every weekend.  He is the perfect dog for so many different families   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 13, 2026, 6:55 pm

Story
Demi is a great little girl! She is smaller in person than she looks in her photos, she currently weighs around 22 lbs at 6 months old. She would love an active family, she is very people friendly and makes dog friends easily. Demi was introduced to 3 boys today and 4 cats to test how she was with everyone. She got an A++ with everyone. She truly is a gem and is going to make one family so very happy! She absolutely loves the kids, she wasn't overbearing, she gave hugs, rolled over for belly rubs and leaned into the kids for affection. Demi loves to run, she tries to get the other puppies in her playgroup to chase her, mainly because she knows she can out run them. She is agile and smart! Demi would do best in a home where she would have room to run and play, she would make a great little sister to another dog. She may be too much "puppy" for a senior dog. She is a smart girl and responds well to positive reinforcement and is learning to sit for treats. Demi will make a great companion and will give years of loyalty, joy and unconditional love. If you are looking for a well rounded, social puppy with a sweet nature and great temperament, look no further than Demi 💕 We are unsure of the exact breed mix this beautiful girl is. We believe she will be a medium sized dog as an adult in the 40 lb range. She will come current on her vaccines, spayed, microchipped and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. **This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing.** Adoption fee is $400 which includes transport. _______________________________ Considering adoption? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/dog Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible. ***

Story
Meet Fawn, a gentle senior min pin/chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds. This sweet girl has a timid nature and is still learning to trust the world around her. With patience, kindness, and love, Fawn’s tender personality shines through—she truly blossoms when she feels safe. Because she can be startled easily, Fawn will run and hide if frightened. For her safety, she must always be on leash and attended when outdoors. She’s looking for a calm, understanding home where she can take her time to settle in and know she’s secure. Fawn may be shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her quiet sweetness will melt your heart. If you’re ready to offer a safe haven and the gentle encouragement she needs, Fawn will reward you with unconditional love. Currently located/fostering in Texas but available with transport included. Our adoption process includes speaking with current foster/caretaker for additional personality information, pictures, video, and video call (if available). We work with trusted rescue transports that take great care of the fur babies and keep adopters and rescues in the loop the entire trip with dedicated group chats and Life360 tracking, so you know exactly how they are doing and where they are at always. Vetting: Spayed Heartworm tested negative Up to date on vaccinations On preventatives Microchipped with lifetime registration Adoption fee: $500, includes transport

Story
Gideon is a 6 year old neutered male who was found as a local stray. Friendly, energetic, and sweet, Gideon is a fun dog who enjoys going on walks and romping around in the yard. He loves a good blanket and sometimes scares the staff by snuggling so deep into a comforter that we don't realize he's there! Gideon has a food allergy and will need to be on a strictly fish-based diet, but he's not picky with his food and has been more than happy with the adjustment. He could live with a dog-savvy cat and is selective about other dogs, so he may do best with a canine companion content to leave him alone. For more information on Gideon, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application. Adoption Fees for Adult Dogs are $400
