Story
Pepper is a 4 year old, 15 lb. neutered Min-Pin mix who arrived in Harrisburg, PA on New Year's Day with his foster family. Pepper is a happy little guy that loves cats, dogs, and people! He absolutely loves to follow everyone and is a big-time snuggler. He loves a warm lap and a pile of blankies. Pepper loves playing with his toys and is also crate-trained. If the other dogs are playing fetch, he wants to play, too. Fetch and tug are two of his favorite games to play. Pepper was surrendered near the end of 2023 when he displayed symptoms of IVDD, and his elderly mama could no longer care for his special needs. He does not currently show any signs of pain, and he is doing everything in his power to keep up with the rest of the pack. In his mind, he's totally fine and he doesnt care if he slips or trips when walking or running. He gets back up and tries again. He is potty trained, but due to the IVDD, he sometimes dribbles, so we keep a belly band on him to catch the drips between potty breaks outside. He is able to potty independently without intervention from the humans. Pepper traveled north with a wheelchair but remains mobile without it. Pepper is heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and is ready to keep living his best life this year while he awaits a furever family. If you have room in your heart and home for a special guy like Pepper, apply to meet him:  www.pack9rescue.org/applications PA Caring for K-9's PO Box 356 New Oxford PA 17350; LIC #9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!LuLu's mommy's health is declining so she had to surrender her 2 pups and move in with her family.  LuLu and BooBoo have been together their whole lives so we are not going to split them up now.  I mean they already lost their mom!!!  Sooo if you have room in your heart and home for 2 cute fur buddies fill out an application and we will see what LuLu & BooBoo think about you :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!March 14, 2024, 1:12 am

Story
Apples is a happy go lucky guy that would love to find a home to spend the rest of his time in. He is around 10 years old and likes to be with his people. Apple is currently around 17 pounds. We have recently found that Apples is in the beginning stages of congestive heart failure, so we are looking for a hospice home for him to spend the rest of his time in instead of being at the shelter. He is currently on two different medications that he is doing well on, and he does not mind taking them as long as they are in some food! He will need a home that is able to work with their veterinarian to keep Apples happy and comfortable for the rest of his life. It is recommended that Apples see a cardiologist to get a more in depth look at his heart function. Right now, besides some coughing before being put on the medications Apples has been an active and happy guy! If you have any questions about Apples medical history or in general please contact the shelter at 717-263-5791. Apples does not do well with children so a home with just adults would be best for him. Apples did well with the tester cat here at the shelter, but it is recommended that supervision between him and a new cat roommate would be best until they get to know one another better. Apple would love to find his second chance at a loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped. Story
Hello everyone!   My name is Roscoe P. Coltrane and I am a truly special 11 years old senior guy that weighs about 16 pounds and they say I am a Min Pin mix.  I have had an interesting life but I won’t bore you with all the bounces that have led to me being profiled here on the rescue websites.  I just need a final and forever home that will be OK with my occasional leaks which are totally taken care of with a male belly band wrap.  But if you are home all the time and want to take me out every 2-3 hours then I am fine…..I just cannot hold it long. When you leave the house just crate me.   I am fine with that.  I am living in an medium to active home right now and I am doing great with all the people who come and go.  I really get excited when my people come home and they know that I love them.  But they are only foster people and they have promised me a forever place someday soon.  I will say I would prefer no small and young children in the house all the time.   They are just too nerve wracking for me.  I don’t ask for much really and there are no demands from me except to love me and speak kindly.  I really am a rare FIND and you will be very happy having me as your sidekick. I love to go for walks too and am terrific on a leash and meeting new people while on the walk.   Actually I can help you make new friends because I am so cute!!!   Do you have a little place for me to sit beside you and snuggle on these cold winter days and nights.  You won’t find a better boy than me!!!!   Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 26, 2024, 11:20 pm
