Story
Apples is a happy go lucky guy that would love to find a home to spend the rest of his time in. He is around 10 years old and likes to be with his people. Apple is currently around 17 pounds. We have recently found that Apples is in the beginning stages of congestive heart failure, so we are looking for a hospice home for him to spend the rest of his time in instead of being at the shelter. He is currently on two different medications that he is doing well on, and he does not mind taking them as long as they are in some food! He will need a home that is able to work with their veterinarian to keep Apples happy and comfortable for the rest of his life. It is recommended that Apples see a cardiologist to get a more in depth look at his heart function. Right now, besides some coughing before being put on the medications Apples has been an active and happy guy! If you have any questions about Apples medical history or in general please contact the shelter at 717-263-5791. Apples does not do well with children so a home with just adults would be best for him. Apples did well with the tester cat here at the shelter, but it is recommended that supervision between him and a new cat roommate would be best until they get to know one another better. Apple would love to find his second chance at a loving forever home soon! He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped. Story
We got Lily when she was just a puppy, from a close relative in Williamsport, PA. She is 19 months as of February, still very young. She has lots of energy, but also loves to just lay next to us and be lazy. She enjoys playing fetch and tug-o-war the most! Not a big fan of being leashed by the collar, but accepts a good body harness and lead. We call her Lily and Lillian, she is very well behaved and fully house trained!

Story
Meet Pepper, a 4 year old, 15 lb. neutered Min-Pin mix. Pepper arrived in Harrisburg, PA on New Year's Day with his foster family. Pepper is a happy little guy that loves cats, dogs, and people! He absolutely loves to follow everyone and is a big-time snuggler. He loves a warm lap and a pile of blankies. Pepper loves playing with his toys and is also crate-trained. Pepper was recently surrendered when he displayed symptoms of IVDD in early November, and his elderly mama could no longer care for his special needs. He does not currently show any signs of pain, and he is doing everything in his power to get his back feet under him and keep up with the rest of the pack. He is potty trained, but due to the IVDD, he sometimes dribbles, so we keep a belly band on him to catch the drips between potty breaks outside. He is able to potty independently without intervention from the humans. Pepper does have a wheelchair to assist with his walking, but so far he has been choosing to walk without it. Pepper is heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and is ready to keep living his best life this year while he awaits a furever family. If you have room in your heart and home for a special guy like Pepper, apply to meet him:  www.pack9rescue.org/applications PA Caring for K-9's PO Box 356 New Oxford PA 17350; LIC #9736   We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Story
Female, 13 years old, 10 lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, Kids House trained: Mostly Energy level: Moderate (she’s playful and spry for her age!) Noise level: Medium Hey there, I'm Daisy – your new four-legged best friend! Despite my age, I'm still as playful and spry as a pup. I absolutely love going for walks, and guess what? I can keep up with the younger dogs with no problem. So, if you're an active soul, I'm your perfect match! Now, let's talk about my other love – food! I'm a bit of a foodie, and I'll make sure you never forget when it's time to chow down. I'm what they call a Velcro dog – meaning, I like to stick close to my humans. I'd be over the moon if you're the kind of person who takes me everywhere or works from home. I thrive on companionship, and being by your side is my favorite place to be. I generally come when called and I do great on a leash, but I could use some additional training when it comes to learning how to sit/stay. Now, I've got to be honest – I'm mostly potty trained, but every now and then, there might be a little accident. I hope you can forgive me for that. We all have our moments, right? Here's a heads up – I'm not a fan of the car. So, if you're planning any road trips, I might not be the ideal travel buddy. But hey, we can always find other fun things to do together. In a nutshell, I'm Daisy, a lovable, food-loving, and energetic dog ready to bring joy to your home. If you're on the lookout for a loyal companion for walks and a buddy to keep you company at home, I'm your girl! I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give! My foster guardian says: “ Daisy is very cute and sweet and at times funny and goofy (for example, a few times she has danced around my dog and rubbed herself up against her). She also likes to roll around and rub things like couch cushions. She also likes to scratch and burrow and roll around on towels, sheets, shirts, small rugs, etc that are on the floor.”   Likes: Burrowing, rawhide sticks, hanging with you! Dislikes: Cars; when my people leave! My ideal home: I’d love a home where I can be treated like a queen to live out my golden years. I'd do best in a home without children, or older children that can respect my space. Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application :  https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app   My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Overall wellness exam Current on all core vaccines (including DHPP & rabies) Microchip Current on flea & tick and heartworm preventatives   Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet boy looking for loving home ROCKY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME with no kids under 12 years of age!!!!   Name:Rocky      Best Guess for Breed: Min Pin/Chihuahua mix    Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of January 2024      SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 17 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs and cats. Rocky cannot go to a family with children under 12 years of age due to his size and breed.   Currently Living at: DC area foster   Special adoption considerations:  Rocky cannot go to a family with children under 12 years of age due to his size and breed. He also cannot live in an apartment.   Rocky D is Looking For: A forever home! This great little dog dreams of being on laps, licking faces, and more love! He definitely wants to go on walks and explore his neighborhood, and is up for any adventure, either walking by your side or riding with you. You see - this dog is the perfect size to go everywhere with you!   Rocky needs time to adjust to new situations and may be a bit anxious at first. He would do best in a quiet neighborhood. Rocky would prefer to wake up to the sound of birds chirping than big trucks and buses. What My Foster Says About Me: Well-trained, polite and sweet, and definitely a ladies’ man! Does not bark very often and can be protective. Rocky D is great at house-training, eats and drinks well, so if you want a gentle dog that still likes to play with toys and LOVES to snuggle with you, this is the dog for you. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Hello everyone!   My name is Roscoe P. Coltrane and I am a truly special 11 years old senior guy that weighs about 16 pounds and they say I am a Min Pin mix.  I have had an interesting life but I won’t bore you with all the bounces that have led to me being profiled here on the rescue websites.  I just need a final and forever home that will be OK with my occasional leaks which are totally taken care of with a male belly band wrap.  But if you are home all the time and want to take me out every 2-3 hours then I am fine…..I just cannot hold it long. When you leave the house just crate me.   I am fine with that.  I am living in an medium to active home right now and I am doing great with all the people who come and go.  I really get excited when my people come home and they know that I love them.  But they are only foster people and they have promised me a forever place someday soon.  I will say I would prefer no small and young children in the house all the time.   They are just too nerve wracking for me.  I don’t ask for much really and there are no demands from me except to love me and speak kindly.  I really am a rare FIND and you will be very happy having me as your sidekick. I love to go for walks too and am terrific on a leash and meeting new people while on the walk.   Actually I can help you make new friends because I am so cute!!!   Do you have a little place for me to sit beside you and snuggle on these cold winter days and nights.  You won’t find a better boy than me!!!!   Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 26, 2024, 8:32 pm
