Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Meet Scarlett, about 7-8 pounds of total love and devotion... Rescued from North Carolina, and likely 6-9 months old, she is very sweet and gentle but fearful of new people and experiences so her adopter will need to be willing to work slowly introducing her to new things. She takes about 5 minutes to warm up to someone initially (if that someone has tiny tidbits of chicken to share with her). Working on housebreaking (somewhat trained to puppy pads). Her happy spot will be with her person cuddling in her arms, or in a lap on the couch, also loves a nice warm sunny spot. Could probably live with a calm dog, a cat or older children that give her time to feel comfortable with them. She is so easy to love. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Story: Billie was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Billie is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Billie is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Billie will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Billie is an adorable pup who would be a perfect fit for any family in just about any situation.
